Hai, I was facing an issue with my registered email id. Long time in trouble. Later few email communications has made with the official MARCEL, the problem permanently solved. Now I am again enjoying the InterNations plat form. Special thanks to Marcel & team InterNations for understanding & help as an old member. And appreciated the security measurement of the member credentials as well. All the Very Best.

I obtained a refund on a membership overpayment and Roxana was understanding and efficient

I joined recently and soon left as I got spammed. There was also nothing in the area I could attend as a free member and only one event a month as a full member!

Reply from InterNations
Ian responded patronizingly stating all the information is there and that I knew it all from the start. This is the opposite of a decent business run by ethical people. Internations goal is to deceive and extract payment without providing any meaningful service.
My experience is par for Internations since they give no notice of upcoming renewal and fee to be charged without any possibility of refunds.
This is a scum organization; no contact possible, hard to find where to cancel and zero refunds after no notice of upcoming renewal date. I have never been contacted by one person during my 3 year membership. AVOID this trash heap organization with fake occasional positive "reviews" obviously written by Internations staff under a fake name.

I signed up for a 30 day free trial and within 2 days my account was debited for a full year's subscription. Coupled with other predatory practices such as bots pretending to be members who wish to connect, I cannot strongly enough recommend others avoid this service.

Reply from InterNations
I didn't expect to see so many negative reviews but mine is of a similar nature. Subscription payments are taken even if you have not been to even one event. They offered a free one-month taster which I accepted but never got a chance to use, so at the end of the free trial, without any update, a payment for the whole year was taken. I have contacted their customer support and kept getting automated replies saying that no refund is possible and I just need to start using it. SCAM company, avoid.

Lot of pervy and desperate men in London community. There was a Football Childrens Book author who r*ped me. He refused to wear protection. As a man in my 20s I felt vulnerable and scared. He was also bisexual hence more worried about the spread of ST*s among these men. London community is the worst.

Am awful company.
I joined as an Albatross member 1st November 2023, when I moved from UK to the USA. I got mostly spam invites and nonsense. I left USA on 8th October 2024 and returned home and closed my email account. They tried to take auto-renewal membership 1st November 2024 (but my Credit card had expired). They tracked down my work email address and harassed me for payment $106.00. I told them I had returned home and didn't need it. They continued to send emails, stating I had to pay before I could cancel, and each day I didn't the more it would cost me. I said no, I don't live in the USA. They refused to cancel my membership and threatened me with a debt collection agency and extra costs, in writing. After many emails, I decided to pay (bad move) to make them go away. I've asked for a refund and now they don't contact me. A horrible experience. This is a good idea but awful policies and processes. My strong recommendation DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THEM
Update on Internation's response:
I have contacted their Community Support team twice. They haven't responded.
When they believed I owed them money, they were very attentive.
Now that I want a refund as I am entitled, they don't respond.
I have had memberships in many organisations and rarely complain.
This organisation is not pro membership. It's methodology is reflected by it's overall rating here on Trustpilot. BEWARE.

I would like Internations representativa to introduce new members.

The response was swift and the agent Roxana was emphatic to my concern and fixed my problem completely and immediately.

Total scam. You cannot get out of Albatross membership. They refuse to cancel, they do not send notifications of renewal and I wouldnt have known they are still charging me, but they tried to charge an old account. When I informed them I do not wish to renew the membership, they told me to pay the membership, then go to their webpages (which I cant enter anymore without paying the membership) and then cancel the membership. When asked in an email to cancel the memebership while I discuss my lawyer about the payment, they stopped answering. It is not a large sum, but I refuse to be scammed.

I liked to be part of this community, to contribute, etc. but the membership request was declined without any explanation. Is ok, I find something else, but it is also very unprofessional from my view.

BE WARNED. Payment done for Premium Subscription, but the upgrade was not done, moreover no feedback from Customer Support (several messages sent, no answer).
Reply by Internations to my previous review:
"Our Support Team is currently dealing with a high volume of requests, therefore, we apologize if you have not received a reply yet." AFTER 3 WEEKS, time to apologise, but no time to reply to support request? No comments are needed.
"InterNations is constantly growing and now helps over 3 million expats feel at home." HELPS HOW? TO GET THE MONEY FROM EXPATS, THEN TO VANISH?
This is a total scam network. They lure BigU by free membership. Then they convince you to become an albatross member paying an annual membership. When you go to events you always need to pay. But the worst is that I cancelled over a year and a half ago and they still kept charging me. It was impossible to cancel due to constant problems with their site and when I sent emails to complain I am sent back to the site who did not work. They are making millions by charging membership dees and not making it easy to cancel! Do not fall for them! The people who work in all the different countries are all volunteers and do not get paid
! am not sure how that is legally possible! ! Do not join them!

Reply from InterNations
Internations is generally faking the number of attendees and the quality of the events. don't be fooled by the glossy looking website. internations is a better way to spend your money only if your baseline is taking 100USD and throwing it in a garbage can

This platform is making money of people who are stepping out of their comfort zone. On the lookout for meeting new people while spending time abroad, I signed up on this platform to see what it could offer me. This turned out to be nothing.
Without realising, I had opted for a free trial. So, after the free trial ended, I accidentally paid for the full membership, which I did not want. When emailing them about my mistake, they showed no flexibility whatsoever and are unwilling to reverse this payment.
In my honest opinion, i feel like no organisation will sustain living on money of people that do not want their product or service because its a terrible business model. Therefore, I most definitely would not recommend supporting it by buying their “services”.

To anyone reading this, save yourself from this €120 scam. I’m certain I downgraded my account on time, but they charged me €120 anyway. I reached out to their painfully slow support team twice about this, but they showed absolutely no empathy or accountability. Any reputable company would understand the situation and issue a refund if you contact them promptly after the charge, but they don’t. So spare yourself what others have gone through and avoid this service at all costs.

This organisation is a money scamming entity. As a Paris expat, I know people in this group and, for years I have heard their complaints about their attempts to disentangle from its membership charges. I have avoided this group like the plague knowing this. Somehow -- no idea how -- this group started charging me. I have never been to any event, intentionally avoiding any connection. I will now be pursing all remedies, for me and others. This group is not trustworthy.
AFTER my above review, InterNations replied (below). Their information is not correct. I have a long-time redundant system keeping track of subscriptions (automated and manual). No subscription/membership was taken. No online account was created. I have twice sent them Cease & Desist Letters, to no avail. I have twice tried to contact their support team, again, to no avail. I am warning everyone, THIS IS A SCAM.

I had the privilege of serving as a council member of a photography group for a few years. During that time, I met incredible people and formed lasting friendships around the world. Our group was small, intimate, and always had a warm, cozy atmosphere on our outings. The individuals I met were not only respectful and friendly, but also wonderful connections to have. I also maintained a strong relationship with most of the other council members.
A special shout-out to the Internation support team! They were consistently superb—always helpful, friendly, and understanding. I truly appreciate their dedication and warmth.
One of the challenges we organizers faced, which had nothing to do with Internation itself, was when people would sign up for events but fail to show up. Additionally, although rare, there were occasional issues with the platform being blocked or not working smoothly.

Update. So whilst i instigated a ccard charge back and dispute about this horrible company, and got a credit, internations in pure german style re charged me another annual subscription. Rascals. Thankgod i blocked them and so they couldnt do that! THEY NEED TO BE IN THE DOCK AT THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT IN THE HAGUE. CRIMINALS.
And then internations tried to charge again the next day too. These guys are seriously malicious.
Internations will kindly give you 30 days free membership as Albatross. One minute thereafter, they will charge you the full years membership €119, which i paid. The minute you try and cancel albatross to go back to basic and seek a refund due to change of mind, its better you never ask. They operate German policy: rude and wont be helpful. Read the reviews. They are a monster company operating poor standards and scamming every one. No fair policy on cancelletions. UK Trading standards pay attention. Credit card companies pay attention. How can such a company exist in 21st century? They disregard cancellations for a refund. You sign up to free trial period, thereafter its a full on years membership charge, thats their terms. Every attempt to seek cancellation for a refund is a waste of time, even if you have complaints on service, unable to use the service or any reason whatsoever. You have paid. Sel a vie.
