Excellent interview prep
I had a great experience using InterviewFocus—my comfort during job interviews improved significantly after using the mock interview technology and the coaching session. I wanted to be less nervous during job interviews and learn strategies for answering basic questions, and I went with a premium package from InterviewFocus based on a recommendation.
The mock interview platform prompts you with different interview questions that have to be answered on the spot, and then records your answer, so it is paced like a real job interview. From the recordings, your soft skills are analyzed—words per minute, pause words, smiles, head engagement, eye contact, etc. It is useful to have these measured, so that you can retake the mock interview and compare later results and see improvement. Even if you were to only use the mock interview platform, this alone would give you a clear picture of which soft skills you need to work on the most.
It was also helpful to have the recorded mock interview to discuss during the coaching session. We were able to start the session off with actionable tips right away, and the coach guided the practice questions we did together based on where I needed to improve in my mock interview answers.
Overall, I found the value to be greater than that of a traditional coaching session, in which an interview coach might be meeting you, attempting to quickly analyze your interview skills, giving feedback, and offering more practice questions in a single session. Using the AI platform before the coaching session makes every minute of the coaching session more valuable, as the coaches will already have a clear idea of who you are and how you interview when they meet you. On top of that, the price point is significantly better than meeting for several sessions with a traditional coach.
I also had a great experience talking with my coach. He was extremely personable and knowledgable, and really cared about seeing me improve. Knowing you have someone on your side in the interview process is a great confidence booster in itself!
