I completed the course about 5 weeks ago and now have a job offer as a Data Analyst. My experience of it has been that the coaches put a lot of effort into offering you all the help and support you need. They not only understand what it takes to get a role as a data analyst, but they are also really good at being able to teach you what you need to know no matter what level you are at. So I think the coaches are great and I'm really glad I did the course.

Having transitioned from a career in logistics, I faced challenges securing a role as an analyst, even after undertaking several courses and a master's in data science. It was then that I decided to enrol in io-sphere.

The defining characteristic that sets io-sphere apart from other online courses is its immersive hands-on training. This is offered by coaches who are seasoned professionals in the data realm(scientists, engineers, and analysts). This coupled with the chance to work with real-world data was what really made the course so useful. While I was well-acquainted with programming languages, I lacked practical experience and the soft skills required to be an analyst; io-sphere bridged that gap for me.

After completing the programme, I successfully secured an analyst position. I can pretty confidently say that this was due to my experience in the program.

However, there are aspects potential enrollees should consider:

The course's effectiveness is directly proportional to your commitment. It's essential to be proactive and willing to navigate challenges.

Despite its promotional material, io-sphere's relatively young status means that it might not have as extensive a network of hiring partners as you might think. In fact, most of the students in my cohort secured jobs outside of the hiring partners.

If you land a job outside the hiring partners, be prepared to shoulder the training fees.

Overall my main goal was to get a job as an analyst and I have achieved this where I previously was unable. This has come at the cost of the training fee but I see this as a worthwhile investment.

Being part of iO-Sphere was very rewarding, not just because of the delivery of a brilliant program within just 10 weeks, but because of the opportunity to apply key learnings and deliver projects with a team of like-minded individuals. Highly recommended!

Great Training and value for money - you do learn a lot. Feedback provided could be better

Before taking the course I knew I wanted to get into data but was overwhelmed with what I needed to learn, especially to be able to pass technical stages of interviews etc. The course was perfect for me at giving me all the required skills alongside being able to share the journey with other likeminded people which helped build confidence in it.

The coaches were great and went above and beyond in order to create a relevant and holistic experience. iO Sphere offers a great program for training in data analytics, including technical (stats, SQL, PowerBI, Python) as well as soft skills (requirements gathering, telling data stories, communication, influencing and impacting the business).

I attended the Data Analytics Immerse Training and I highly recommend iO-Sphere, especially to those looking for a real work environment experience. I deepened my skills and gained solid knowledge in the field of business and business analytics. I couldn't imagine that I could learn so much so fast! Competent trainers, great people, unique experience!

I've just finished the Data Analyst intensive program with them and I'm really happy I took this course. It has helped me become proficient in SQL, Excel and gained a lot of knowledge about business, marketing, Web, etc. They focus a lot on your soft skills, which is also good. Really nice coaches and atmosphere.

The IO-Sphere programme is truly immersive and got me what I needed in terms of big data experience to put myself in front of employers.

Although jobs were not handed on a platter following the programme, (I feel this element is impossible to offer anyway, unless they were the employer themselves) the experience I gained allowed my CV to glow and actually got my foot in the door. The interview practice and skills were useful for me and the project work was what set me apart.

I did a data science bootcamp before this programme and would describe this programme as a way to gain commercial experience and be put in real workplace scenarios. I couldn't be more thankful for the coaches at IO-Sphere for how they have helped me with my career.

I didn't get to finish the full 10 Week program. I feel it's important to start off with that. I got through the first half, a five week intensive training session on coding and presentation skills and weekly interview sessions.

However, I left because I was given an offer for a job working with data and databases, and supporting those to use it more efficiently. And I have to thank iO-Sphere for all the support, because my tutor knew it was my self-confidence holding me back. They gave me the skills, the experience, and helped me build up the confidence to hold myself up as a professional and for someone to see me and go "Yeah, you're exactly the person we want working here".

It was a risk, to be sure, taking that leap. But I am glad I took it.

Well thought-out programme.Although it felt intense at the start, by the end of it I was comfortable using all my new learned knowledge

I really enjoyed the Data Analyst training programme. I developed lots of new skills (storytelling, Power BI, SQL) and understood what it takes to be a Data Analyst. The coaches were really great too. Definitely recommend joining a programme if you are looking to go into Data.

Good learning experience with a simulation to get contextual data problems

I saw this course as an opportunity to get ahead of the curve, as I was a "career changer". The course was informative and the coaches were well-versed in their respective fields. However, I felt the bulk of the course was filled with unnecessary filler, such as guest speakers and primary school tasks, such as watching a video and answering questions.

The first 5 weeks were conducted online, which I felt was not the best way to learn. Although support was readily available, it felt as if you were left to your own devices and had to work through a series of tasks based on the particular program for the week (SQL, Excel, Power BI). I felt that Codecademy was very unbalanced; there would be reams of SQL tasks, but one or two for Power BI. At the beginning of each week, after a particular skill set was complete, a final task was granted and had to be completed in strict time conditions. I feel tasks such as these do not take neurodivergence into consideration as some people take longer to process these types of questions.

The next 5 weeks were a combination of in-person and online, which I felt was significantly better, as it felt that you could bounce off people's ideas and have a look over their shoulder, especially if there were elements that you felt weaker on. However, with the random tasks dropped in during working hours, it seemed counterproductive to give tight deadlines to then be told to attend a mandatory event, such as a guest speaker. This aspect definitely needs to be reconsidered.

I know I've mentioned it a few times now, but the guest speakers, although interesting, there were too many. They also were quite repetitive and followed a similar route and gave similar, generic advice. It was interesting to hear how they got to whatever senior role they achieved, but most of the guest speakers came from IT backgrounds, so none really resonated with me. As a result, they oftentimes seemed pointless to attend.

I understand this programme was supposed to mimic what it is like to work within an analytics team, but bombardment is not the best way to teach, especially for those who are new to analytics. Between keeping up with work and messages, it felt that things were a bit all over the place. On the flip side, treating a roomful of adults like primary school children came across as condescending and, at times, disrespectful. It may sound like I didn't enjoy the course, because I did, as I feel it has given me some knowledge on analytics, but I feel more could have been learnt and absorbed doing a different course.

The Course/Program is essentially divided into 3 parts.

1) Acquire: this was fully remote and I would rate this component 2 stars. Working on data camp was very useful in building up the technical skills however there was a lot of unnecessary events which I believe was a waste of time. This part of the program could have easily been done part time.

2)Apply: this was a great component of the course, as we were able to apply our skills to real world examples and problems. Working in groups and meeting fellow colleagues in person was a great aspect. However just like in the first 5 weeks there were many skits that seemed unnecessary and felt the time could have been used more effectively. The course had a slight feel of school environment, where coaches treated applicants as school kids, and not as professionals or adults that they were.

3)accelerate: this is the component after the 10 weeks training program. And unfortunately I would have to rank it 1 star. The purpose of the program is get a job. The after program support has been very limited in that regard. I was under the impression that we would be introduced to “IO partners” however that is not the case.

Overall the program is good as it exposes you to real world work environments however the main goal
Is to get a job in data,

This immersive data analytics training provides you with experience you cannot get by yourself - As someone from the first cohort, it enabled me to build a network of fellow Data Analysts as well as experienced Data professionals who’s collective data and career knowledge we are still able to tap into. I was able to build a portfolio of projects as a Data Analyst working in a team for a company with real data - an invaluable experience as I got to learn how to work in a team and make an impact rather than merely learning technical skills. While applying for jobs, the coaching has been personalised and very helpful - I think the coaching is what sets this course apart, it’s highly personalised and you get to really develop yourself as a professional rather than just gaining isolated technical skills. It’s challenging but very rewarding and I would highly recommend!

The Data Analyst Experience Accelerator provided me with a good balance of skills training and experience. The 10 weeks felt like a mix of university and a simulated workplace, both of which I enjoyed. All the coaches/staff are extremely friendly, supportive, and professional which made for a very safe and progressive learning environment - this was a huge upside for me.

The one main disappointment for me was the lack of job opportunities provided by IO-Sphere, as this was a big expectation of mine before starting the course. Nonetheless, I am confident that the course has boosted my chances of landing a job judging from the much higher rate of responses and the much greater confidence and success I have had in interviews.

Being from the very first cohort in Feb 2023, I can only imagine that the course has improved and will continue to improve as time goes on. With that in mind I can wholeheartedly recommend IO-Sphere to anyone looking to start their career in this field.
