I couldn't see a way of leaving them…

I couldn't see a way of leaving them without huge problems, look at the amount of switching problems they had. After experiencing their inability to get simple but expensive mistakes right, I'm hopeful that I can now move to a company that works. I now live in the hope that ofgem can switch me easily to a more reliable company.

Cheap energy with a high-tech website

Cheap energy supplier with a high-tech website, enjoyed the graphs of my usage. Yes it took some time to get the online account however I read the timeline page with the date estimate so I knew it was normal. I'm not sure why so many felt the need to complain just cause they couldn't log in to a website instantly on day of sign up to submit meter readings.

Never had a serious problem with Iresa…

Never had a serious problem with Iresa and when I did there was the facility to log it within my account. Never had call to chase it as always resolved at most in three days.
If Ofgem think they can plonk me in with anybody, probably with a hefty increase. They can think again

Great company

Great company. Who had these problems? I was with them two years never had to contact them only send in readings. Pay my DD and accept new rates. What is so difficult about getting energy? I had a company go bust before Amerada. Next on will be a shy*ter if OFGEM appoint a big boy and we'll be off in a flash.

It's going to become expensive for former Iresa customers

Although their customer service was poor - I've been a customer for two years, and despite several phonecalls, I've never actually managed to talk to anybody!
Now that the firm has ceased trading, looking at Price Comparison websites, no one can offer a better or comparable deal. Until Ofgem appoints a new supplier, I don't know how much more we'll be paying - but I can see a minimum personal price increase of £161 a year. Shame that the company couldn't have maintained its position in the market place. Being on small earnings, we would have stayed.

Bye Bye Iresa

Deserved to go bust. Best news in ages.

Whoop Whoop.

Martin and Holly....LOL.

To all the cretins that continued to work at Iresa until the end, who sold their souls for a quick buck, who were complicit in this scam company, who actually made the world a worse place...enjoy your time on welfare. You deserve everything you get.

To OFGEM, for bringing this sorry saga to a conclusion...thank you.

Good rate and never had a problem

I have to say we haven’t had any problem with Iresa. I was a bit concerned when I picked them since they had the best rate, but the review was poor. However I thought I could give it a try as you can cancel anytime. We are happy with their service and actually renewed our contract with them, which was the first time I stayed in the same energy company. It’s a pity they ceased trading and now we have to find someone else.

That's interesting

That's interesting. I had no complaints with this supplier. Switch was seemless. They even took meter readings from an email sent to them. I guess I have no experience of trying to leave them, perhaps that is where they failed!!

Raised a complaint on 11 June. Still have not heard a single thing from the complaints team.

Left the company in July 2017
Had issues around final bill.
Raised a complaint.
Went to Ombudsman.
Was awarded compensation.
Still no final bill or refund.
Raised a complaint on 11 June.
Still have not heard a single thing from the complaints team despite calling the customer service several time a week. Have tried to escalate complaint or speak to a manager but there is never a manager around. And the escalations appear to go directly in the bin.

I have emailed Martin my details but heard nothing back. sadly not surprised.

So far so good

The company was slow to set up my electricity account when I joined but eventually got it correctly. After that, it has been a smooth ride. They have never taken an extra payment or increase the amount of my DD without telling me in advance. Hope this continues this way!

Truly awful customer service

Truly awful customer service.

Moved to a different supplier three months ago and still waiting for them to refund my money. I have it in writing from my new supplier that the final meter reading has been sent to and accepted by the aggregation company. Despite this they claim not to have accepted it. Told me three weeks ago that they would request again and give me refund within ten working days, funnily enough I am still waiting.

They have now stopped replying to my support tickets.

I think this company makes its profits by investing other peoples money including mine.

Hi Pete. I'm really sorry about the difficulties you've had with getting your final bill. I've spoken directly to our data collectors, and they've assured me that your final reading will be sent over by tomorrow. Once this happens, I'll personally be able to generate your final bill and process your refund. I apologise again for the delay.

Kind regards,

Martin

Best tariff

I really can’t understand the bad reviews . I’ve been with Iresa for years and have never had a problem. By far the best tariffs, I save hundreds a year .
I get through to customer services fast and never have issues.
I’ve recently moved and as they are not allowed to take on new customers I’m stuck with British Gas till I find a cheaper tariff. British Gas automated service drives me mad, you can never speak to anyone whereas never had that problem with Iresa. Also British Gas tariff is so high my bills will now go up a lot.
Got refunded by Iresa swiftly when my account was closed.

Iresa, by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with

By far the worst company I have ever had to deal with, this company has ruined lots of days with incompetence and lies.
They may be cheap but run a mile.
I purchased a new house who the previous owner had Iresa as the supplier, they would not let me move on day one, they said I had to join so I could leave, it's 4 months now and they keep declining my transfer, I offer to pay and they never do what they promise.
This company should have its license removed immediately by the toothless regulator.

Thanks for the update but I have paid and I have been promised I am free to move and have now been declined 4 times, I have asked for payment to be taken and no action has happened, I am now letting the ombudsman deal with it.

Hi Giles,

I'm sorry to hear that you've had trouble moving away. However, we do need customers who move into properties we supply to create accounts with ourselves. This is so that we can generate bills and charge for the energy such customers use while they've been responsible for the property. In your case, it looks like your move away has been blocked due to money owed on the account. However, as you've recently made a payment, your switch should go ahead in short order. If you need anything else, please email me at trustpilot@iresa.co.uk, quoting your customer ID number, and I'll be happy to look into this for you.

Kind regards,

Martin

Seem fine to me so far. and a great price

Their billing and website works well, they adjust the direct debit payment appropriately. They are slow to respond to communications.
Excellent value. Their bills are clear and understandable.

They have had bad reviews, but my experience thus far has been very good.
We will see what happens when I want to close the account at the end of my current deal.

I took my complaint to the ombudsman…

I took my complaint to the ombudsman after months of frustration with this company .in the end it got sorted out.but now they do not want to take monthly payments on the correct day of every month.all I get from them is the payment has not come out for some reason.this company wants to keep your account in debt. When my account was in credit they deliberately missed a payment which I asked why a monthly payment had not been taken out .my payments are set for the same payments to come out on the same day of every month .but it takes them another 10 - 15 days before they take it out .plus always pending .they put July pending and now august on there pending

Hi there. I'm sorry to hear that you had to go to the ombudsman, but I'm glad to hear that your issue was resolved. Regarding the direct debits, these are always taken on the correct date; you can verify this by looking at your bank statement. However, it can take some time for those payments to be processed by our system and credited to your account. We certainly don't want our customer's accounts to be in debt; indeed, it states on the terms and conditions of your contract that your account remains in credit. Please rest assured that the payments will be credited to your account shortly.

Kind regards,

Martin

Avoid Iresa: Direct Debit payment stuck in “pending” for 15 days and counting

Iresa will object to you switching supplier if you are not in credit. Be warned though, when you authorise them to put your account in credit using Direct Debit, this doesn’t mean the account will go into credit. I actually gave Iresa permission to use the Direct Debit to sort out the lack of credit on my account on 24/6/18 and it is now 24/7/18, lots of money has left my bank account, but nothing is credited to my Iresa account.

Avoid Iresa
