The headphones are not the most comfortable to wear but the sound is good. As I compare these to my Bose QC 32 II I would say that they are overpriced for what they are. The App doesn't work great... See more

Ok but not great value for money

I got the red bull version, the sound is good with IRIS enabled (not possible directly through Spotify app). But for this kind of money i expected better sound. Without IRIS enabled I don't hear an improvement from my Airpod sound quality.

Another shortcoming of the headphones is the weight, and small caps for my ears. I can wear them for 30min before they become uncomfortable.

I'm used to airpods so maybe it take a bit of adjusting.

Outstanding Build quality! Solid sound!!!

Bought the RBR-version during my holliday in Germany last august. According to Indiegogo the delivery was scheduled at the end of october. But things all went different due to Covid.
Eventually the headset was delivered one week ago. Like all my fellow Facebook-Iris groupmembers I was thrilled!! Unboxing was a real treat!! Build quality top of the bill! Nicely embedded in a softcase. I have been wearing them daily for an hour or more... They fit me real comfy. Sound quality is really good. Streaming with Spotify and the Iris app on my iPhone. No glitches at all. With Iris app they sound richer. It is really nice that my Spotify-playlists are available in the Iris-app as well.
Resumé: happy customer!! It was worth the wait and support as a launching customer. Well done, Iris-team!!

Mixed feelings

The headphone is great, with amazing sound quality! The bass level could be better. However, the App that you may use to change settings and other functions, sucks! It gets locked all the time you try to navigate on it to take better advantage of the headphone. After several tries, I just decided to forget about the App and simply use the headphones as any other without the App.

Listened Well

Where do I even begin? I bought it because I liked what you had to say about the IRIS technology. I've received the headphones. I absolutely love it. It's the sort of product that once you start using, you aren't even sure if you're going to like listening to music on other headphones.
The sound feels like you're right there in the actual performance. Pure magic!
Wishing you success with a broader launch.
Listening well!

Great sound once past the static

Great sounding headphones, but sound is not consistent. There have been a number of times when I have started streaming music via bluetooth from my A&K SR25 (it uses the AptX HD Codec) only to hear nothing... or static. I wait for a few minutes and then it normally corrects and the music is fantastic after that. I am trying to be patient, but this is not what I expect from a premium set of cans.

Thanks for the amazing Red Bull limited…

Thanks for the amazing Red Bull limited Iris Flow, straight out of the box in a few seconds connected... The materials are great but maybe a bit to small, I adjust it to the maximum size and it's barely enough...
I hoped the Red Bull logo was incribted like in the video, that's the only minor thing that's not wat I aspected
The sound is amazingly full with great deep bass, and the battery life is very good

Amazing IRIS

Well. Ordered the Red Bull edition via Indiegogo on 7th of august with expected delivery late october or beginning of november. Sadly, thanks to Covid, I had to wait until the beginning of february. Now I've had them for a weeks time, and I have to say: They are well worth the wait. Simply amazing. Well rounded sound with good bass and the Iris tech just makes the music sound alive. It is an experience that everyone should try. The build and material quality is better than expected. The only cons I have encountered is, that the case seems to be quite big compared to those of the competition, and that the earcups don't extend that much from the headband, which might be a problem, if you have a big head.

Amazing headphones. 10/10 would by again

Got redbull version

Got redbull version. Without the Iris function enabled the sound is poor similar to very cheap Head phone set. With Iris on the sound is good but still far away of what you can get from a set of the same value. The overall bass level is not so deep.

Interesting and effective headphones

When I first read about the Iris headphones I was intrigued but not convinced that they would be that different to any other headphone but decided to take a punt on them via the Indiegogo platform. After waiting some time for development to finish I finally received my red bull racing edition Iris headphones. The shipping ended up being much quicker than expected, so a good start!

First impressions were that the build quality is great, they are a little heavier than say a pair of Bose headphones but this lends to the quality feel especially compared to the bose ones (many newer headphones seem to be taking this approach such as the Apple Airpod max ones). The cushioning for the ears are made of a really soft and supple material so very comfortable as is the headband covering. I agree with one of the other reviewers the ear holes could be slightly bigger as my ears dont quite fit in the holes - not uncomfortable but would be even better if they were slightly larger.

Unlike the other reviewer who said the headband could have a greater degree of adjustment to fit larger heads - I have the opposite experience, normally headphones like Bose dont go small enough for both me and my wife but these do and are a great fit for me

Moving on to sound, I found it took a little listening before I really started to appreciate the intricacies of the sound algorithm but now I can hear individual instruments or sound more clearly than with other headphones and this does seem to have an effect on the brain as claimed (something I was very sceptical of)

I use the headphones for music to some extent although I also have Airpod Pros, Bose, Sennheiser and BeyerDynamic sets so depending on where and how I am listening to music will change which sets I use, but I also use these headphones for PC games where previously I used my Bose ones.

Listening to HD and Ultra HD tracks form Amazon music produces a clear and clean sound with just the right amount of bass for me (I don't like overpowering bass just a good background solidity ot the sound).

Picking a couple of tracks:

1. U2 - Blackout - This has a good bass beat which tranlsates very well on the headphones
2. U2 - All I want is you - Changing tempo to the guitar heavy slower track allows each instrument to be picked out much eaiser than other headphones I have tried
3. Mumford and Sons - Hot Gates - again a goo bass beat with a slower tempo the Iris headphones handle this track beautifully again the segragation of Mumford voice and each insturment is handled really well and make you feel like you are hearing it for the first time
4. First Aid Kit - Wolf - Again the Iris heapdhones handle what could be a diffcult track due to the speed and complexity of the music but still manages to keep the sound stage controlled and the seperation of insturments in place

I could go on but I think the biggest strength of these headphones is the way it manages to so clearly present each instrument and voice so clearly

The great sound translates just as well on games as it does on music, making the games seem more realistic from a sound perspective - I am very impressed.

The battery life seems ok, I used them for 3 hours or so before getting a 75% notfication on the headphones (a nice feature having an announcement spoken to you when it gets to 75% then 50%, etc - also this voice tells you when the headphones are connected and using APT-X LL)

The only downsides of the headphones I have found to date is more to do with the Bluetooth specs rather than the headphones themselves, the 2 issues I have experienced are:

1. When using the headphones on bluetooth there is some slight crackling occassionally even though I am sat right next to the bluetooth source - this seems to happen more when I am playing games so maybe its to do with that or the Creative BT-W2 adapter I am using on the PC - On googling this issue other people have had these issues on other headphone brands so it may be an issue with APT-X LL rather than these headphones

2. If you want to use these headphones with the built in microphone over bluetooth it gets complicated at least on a PC, again due to bluetooth rather than the headphones - you either need to use the standard bluetooth mic protocol option which gives very poor audio (I had this same issue with Airpod Pro's on a desktop PC, my bose arent bluetooth ones so can't confirm those) or you can use APT-X LL with Faststream but these headphones dont seem to support this, in fact hardly any headphones seem to.

In summary, these are a fantastic pair of headphones without the algorithm enabled, but turn it on and these heapdhones just seem to come alive

Love them!

Massive bang for your buck.

Massive bang for your buck.

I have the Red Bull Racing edition. I've had 20+ more expensive headsets than these and many cheaper. I think they are great.

You are buying first-gen tech. The IRIS magic is on the inside. These are worth every cent - even at full retail.

Sure, there are external design tweaks that can be picked up in v2 (larger ear cups, distancing between buttons to avoid accidental shut down, more tactile and sturdy buttons).

Take a bow folks, if this is a sign of what's to come then your future looks bright and will sound amazing.

Black & Red Bull edition headphones

I now have possession of both the black and the limited edition Red Bull headphones. They are very well designed. The materials used are high end and are soft to the touch. After few hours of use, you’ll start feeling the weight, but it’s a good indication to take a break from it. The app still needs lot of improvements to link up to the right colour of the headphones and it’s functionality. Updates took too long and never gave indication that it was completed. Love how they look. Very unique design.

The sound is incredible as you can hear every instrument. Comfort and style is excellent. I like that you can fold the headphones down and let them rest on your shoulder. Built very well with quality parts.
Only minor problem is the Iris app freezes when trying to access your iTunes and the Iris library but you really don’t t need the app to listen through these headphones and I m sure they will offer an update soon for the Iris app.

The IRIS Flow RBR is simply amazing

The IRIS Flow RBR is simply amazing. I listen to electronic dance music a lot and what I noticed is that almost every track has much more depth in it when listened to with these headphones. The build quality is very good and it is very easy to use. Pairing with laptop or phone is done in a second. Worth every penny/euro.

Totally awesome

Totally awesome. The packaging is very well made, headphones are of an outstanding quality and the sound is totally amazing.

Bright, brilliant, full, complete sound. I have a pair of Bose qc15's that I have had for 10 years (excellent quality) these are on a par quality wise, and sound wise, they take it to a new level.

Only one draw back. No noise cancellation (NC). If NC was included, then it would take it to the next level.

To Tom and the guys, I appreciate this product so much. It's taken my listening to a new level.

I got IRIS red bull limited edition headphones almost a week ago. Excellent quality and exceptional sound, I can really achieve my flow with these headphones. I am not a big believer of bold claims by new tech entrants, but I can say, claims by IRIS teams are realistic… loving my headphones

If I have to say something to improve, please work on your manufacturing speed…😉. Waiting for my headphones for more than 4 months past original delivery timeline was killer…
