Absolutely awful. Please do not waste your money.

Possibly the worst decision of my life was to purchase a roomba. Series of systemic errors from start to finish.

1) roomba broke within a year
2) sent it off to get fixed. In this time I’ve moved address and asked them to confirm that post fix, they send it to the new address
3) have a paper trail (email proof) that they confirmed they have updated my address and will not send it to the old address
4) they claim the roomba is fixed and send it to the old address which I physically can no longer access anymore.

Awful product that didn’t work and broke during warranty, only to have it sent back to the wrong place. Quite unique how appalling this is.

Please, save your money, and do not ever purchase from here. Aliexpress have better ones for a tenner.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company!
I’ve been trying to get a replacement under warranty for our robot for over 6 months. The average wait time on the phone is 2 hours and then the “customer service” that you can barely hear or understand as they’re using such cheap headsets are frankly useless. I’m going to contact trading standards as this is completely unacceptable! We spent nearly £1000 on our machine and it’s useless. My recommendation, if people are reading this deciding which brand to buy would be Eufy as my mother has just bought one and it’s amazing!

I purchased a 9j+ as a Christmas gift …

I purchased a 9j+ as a Christmas gift , when the vacuum cleaner and washer works. It’s a decent machine ,but when it goes wrong as mine did 7 weeks ago their customer support is terrible, I am still waiting for someone to contact myself as the machine has left black lines on all my white skirting boards, the machine then refused to clean the areas it should do ,,, I certainly won’t be using this company again as when I purchased the machine several customers had complained if I remember about customer support but I believed I wouldn’t need them. All I keep receiving is a email wanting. Proof of purchase, proof of this proof of that. Pictures, videos, and 7 weeks later still I wait. I have tried calling the company the first was to complain it wasn’t working but from waiting online the talking to support I was on the call around 1hr30mins and the next couple of times , I waited around 20 minutes with music playing over and over but once again no answer,,, the company do a call back service but I feel I’m sick of waiting especially seems the price of the machine wasn’t cheap.

Absolutely appalled by lack of support…

Absolutely appalled by lack of support and response or NO Response from the company when trying to get repair on 2 year warranty! I’ve been calling, emailing and trying to get somewhere for a week now and am so annoyed and deeply disappointed by the service and attitude of the company. They asked me to send a proof of purchase which I did. Waited for 2 days for someone to tell me that they need me to send this again as the screenshots don’t show the name of the buyer, address and date and amount paid! Rubbish!!! The information is visible and there if someone actually bothered to read/look at it! No response to further emails and no one to answer their phone lines! What sort of company is this? I’ve spent best part for £800 in their product that has absolutely no aftercare or warranty!!!! Please be aware and buy from a company who actually gives a shit about customer service!!!! Must add that the hoover itself is good and I miss it whilst I’ve been sent from pilar to post and jump through hoops to have it repaired! I might as well not bother and buy the part myself! Very very disappointed …..

Worst Customer Service Ever!! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

I purchased a J9+ iRoomba from this company. It was always a challenge to get it to work as hoped and eventually after less than a year it stopped charging entirely. I contacted iRoomba using the online help facility and after an hour of questioning and sending photos of the problem contacts, invoice etc I was told it was faulty and I would be passed onto another team. That was in June. I am still exchanging emails with the "person" (in quotes because I suspect it may be AI) who has been quite literally the worst person I have ever had to deal with from a customer service perspective. My initial frustration was having to repeat all then information again that had been discussed on the online chat, then the number of times (~5) I was asked to send in the same photo of the problem part of the appliance without any advice as to how they wanted it done because it was "not clear enough". Approximately 2 months after the initial online chat the same conclusion was reached and I was asked to send in the product. I did this to then be told this model was end of life, they couldn't replaced the part but they would send a "replacement". The replacement offered had an RRP of £250 and was in white when the original product I had chosen was brown and had an RRP of £1200. I rejected the offer due to it not being a suitable replacement and was then offered the next model up with an RRP of £350 and still in white. Again unacceptable. I was told that due their "process" that was all they could offer. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 states they must offer a replacement and it must "bring the goods into conformity" ie be the same value/quality/description/standard. They are not complying with the law. I stated I wanted the damage vacuum back so that I could return it to Amazon for a refund (with hindsight I should have dealt with them directly instead of going direct to iRobot) and was told they had scrapped it! Without my permission and before agreeing a solution. I could go on but suffice to say I would not touch this company with a bargepole but if you do want anything they sell buy it through Amazon and go to that company not IRobot with any issues!!! PS This argument is ongoing, iRobot (or should I say the customer service AI that I am dealing with!) will not change their offer and will not allow me to speak to a manager!

BEWARE

I bought a Roomba Combo j7+ i robot. The cleaner worked fine. The company didn't. They sent me the cleaner but now they won't sell me the accessories. Apparently my postcode is not on their delivery list! It was for the very expensive cleaner but not accessories. They have a page on Amazon but it does not sell all the accessories. In order for me to buy accessories I have to get them delivered to a courier and pay them to deliver.

iRobot – Poor Support and Refusal to Do Right by Customers
I purchased the iRobot J9+ expecting a premium product, especially as it was marketed as being ideal for homes with pets. From the beginning, it failed badly — particularly when it came to picking up dog hair.
I contacted iRobot customer service, expecting help. What I actually got was weeks of going in circles. Each time I phoned, I had to explain the problem again from scratch, despite having a case number. It was clear that no proper records were being kept, and there was no continuity or accountability.
They tried to drag me through a scripted process — sending filters, rollers, a new cleaning head, and even a service machine. None of this worked. I eventually returned my J9+ for repair, only to receive it back in exactly the same state I had sent it — right down to the same hairs still in the waste bag and filter. That told me everything I needed to know about how seriously they take repairs.
After offering me a replacement model that was a step down in specification, I turned to my credit card provider, who, after hearing the full story, agreed that I had been treated unfairly and issued me a full refund.
Even then, I was prepared to stay with iRobot and offered to buy one of their new updated models, the Roomba Max 705 — which, on paper, looked far more powerful and effective on pet hair. I asked if iRobot would at least offer me a reasonable goodwill discount in recognition of my terrible experience. Their answer? No. They told me that because I’d already had a refund via my credit card provider, they weren’t prepared to do anything further. And, adding insult to injury, they even argued that since the 705 was already on sale at a £250 discount, that alone was “good enough.”
For a company that positions itself as a premium brand, this behaviour was shocking. No accountability, no goodwill, and no interest in retaining a customer who was willing to give them a second chance.
I’ve wasted enough time with iRobot. They may make bold claims in their marketing, but if things go wrong, don’t expect them to stand behind their products or value your loyalty.

Do not buy iRobot at any price

Bought the ir premier Combo vacuum in black which worked ok for a short while. Sent back for repair for them to decide cannot repair or replace with an equivalent machine and sent their bottom of the range machine in white which just happens to be £150 cheaper than black. Just read the reviews this company has to be collapsing especially as others are so much better

Order cancelled without refund — appalling customer service

I placed an order with iRobot on 18th August and payment was immediately taken from my bank. I received an order confirmation, but no further updates. When I chased the order after the delivery window had passed, I was told that iRobot had “no record of payment” and that my order had been cancelled. This is despite my bank clearly showing the funds were debited.

At no point did iRobot proactively contact me to inform me of this cancellation. I only found out because I chased them. When I asked why, I was told I “would have been contacted today” — far too late given that the delivery should already have happened.

I declined their offer to “reprocess” the order because I have already paid once and iRobot is holding my money with no product being delivered. My bank confirms they cannot return the funds until iRobot initiates the process, so I am left in limbo.

Escalating the matter got me nowhere. I was told there are no timelines or service levels for complaints and that “it will take as long as it takes”. Live chat agents refused to connect me to a manager and claimed transcripts of chats cannot be shared.

The entire experience has been appalling. iRobot has taken my money, failed to deliver, failed to communicate, and failed to take responsibility. I now have neither a product nor a refund, and no clarity on when this will be resolved.

It's hard to describe just how unfit…

It's hard to describe just how unfit for purpose this thing was! The 505 couldn't even get off its charger dock on most occasions and when it did, it went round in circles, supposedly trying to create a map and then just stopped with the app saying it could not find it's docking station. We tried over and over and over for 7 days and not once did we mange to get it to mop or vacuum at any point. The happiest experience I had with this thing was getting my confirmation SMS from UPS to confirm they had it to return. The company has been going for 35 years and they produced this pointless lump!!

Buy a cheap Chinese one instead!

Robot hoover is useless in my home. Constantly gets stuck on tiny things it shouldn’t, useless for dog hair, it just gets stuck in the two metal guards and clogs the entire thing up. Mop feature doesn’t work well in reality. It should hoover first then go back and mop, instead it just soaks everything and then has a hissy fit over hoovering it. Customer service was no help whatsoever. Bought to replace a cheap Chinese one and honestly the Chinese one was 100x better in every aspect.

Poor product and service

After 6 months of ownership, I have had:
- Mobile app that did not work properly.
No response when I asked for help
- first 4 months it asked me to clean the charging contacts 2 or 3 times a week (now we know it was due to it being faulty)
- 2 months out of action while I waited for repairs. Constantly had to ask for progress updates. Dealt with 6 support agents.
- Warranty repair process was unprofessional: returned to me with missing parts. Software faulty so had to dismantle the product to remove the battery to reset it.

Products and repairs not fit for purpose

We purchased a J9+ which worked flawlessly for 3 months, but this is where our experience started to go downhill quickly.
During a software update, our vacuum froze and refused to work again. Upon contacting customer services, we were supplied with a new j9+ under warranty.
However, the new vacuum supplied would not detect the mop pad straight out of the box and thus would not initiate any mopping sequence.
We spoke to customer services (again!) who arranged for the new vacuum to be collected and sent to have a warranty repair undertaken.
Today we have received the vacuum back, and guess what? It still won't detect the mop pad.
Now the unit will have to be returned again, for another fix which we have no faith in them being able to undertake competently.
Since our initial purchase, we have spent longer with a broken or non-fully functional vacuum than we have with one that is fully operational. If this doesn't persuade you to not part with your hard earned money on one of their products then I don't know what will.

No support

Two weeks ago bought one of them. It works but every time it is loosing side brush. So it's finishing cleaning routine and you realise it was cleaning without the side brush which was lost at some stage. Contacted them twice by email , no answer. Its new, I would like to return it but how to get in touch if they don't answer your emails?

Poor is an understatement

Poor is an understatement. Bought a vacuum mop combo June 2024, first fault developed in 6 months, got sent out new parts. Then another thing going wrong - docking and charging issue, advised to send back. Admittedly it has taken a while as we were quite busy and actually needed the mop with 2 messy pets at home. Then, recently an issue with the mop sensor, so could not mop at all. Sent the unit back for a repair and despite advising them on the mop sensor issue, it was not picked up so the 3rd week running we are left without the ability to use as intended and despite asking for a shipping label to send it back for another repair they still haven’t done so. £399 for this is an absolute joke, our Shark lasted 4 years with no issues.

Extremely Disappointed — Floor Damaged, No Resolution After 2 Months

I purchased the Roomba Combo j9+ directly from iRobot in December 2024. In April 2025, the product leaked while docked, causing serious water damage to our newly installed, high-quality wooden flooring. I followed all instructions, reported the issue promptly, and sent the robot in for repair after extensive back-and-forth with customer service.

Since then, I’ve been without the product for over two months, with no meaningful update, no repair outcome, and no compensation offered. The repair tracking system is no longer accessible, and the communication from iRobot has been vague, generic, and without any accountability.

Despite giving them ample time and opportunity to resolve this professionally, I now feel ignored, misled, and deprived of both the product and a proper resolution. I’ve kept a full record of all communication and evidence.

I am now preparing to take this case to small claims court, as I believe iRobot has failed to fulfil their obligations under the Consumer Rights Act. I strongly advise caution before purchasing from this company, especially for high-value products like this.

Edit: they scraped the robot, repair report from them claims it had issues, but customer service is claiming the robot was in perfect working condition and still nothing.

Bought a white 105 combo, it actually works very well in terms of cleaning.

When I contacted customer service to ask if this would impact the warranty, I got a series of rambling replies that failed to clearly answer my questions.

The type of plastic on the machine seems easily stained/quite porous - not ideal if it's going to persistently knock into things.

Less than 1 star.
Absolute joke of a company. Purchased the j7+ and after 2 weeks the mop attachment had broken, they replaced it. Then after 6 weeks of the new one it started to not clean and wouldn’t mop or go In areas that were mapped out. I then noticed that the mop attachment was starting to wear in the same place again. I contacted IRobot to ask for a refund as the replacement was not fit for purchase. They said it had to be sent for repair, they have now said that I will need to pay nearly £400 for the repair as it’s not under warranty even though it was previously. Not sure where to turn to now as I have lost so much money on this machine with purchasing and now wanting more money to fix the problem.
I would advise anyone to stay away from this company total rip off.
