After I sent my photos, Amira (the coordinator) arranged a video consultation with Dr. Ayberk. During the call, he told me I was a good candidate for upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelids and under-eye bags) as well as buccal fat removal (cheek fat). Based on that, I scheduled my procedure for October 2025.
On the day of the procedure, I arrived at the hospital, which felt quite ordinary. At reception, there was some confusion, and they didn’t seem to recognize Dr. Ayberk’s name. After about 30 minutes of waiting, his assistant came to help me. She was very kind and took me to his office for an in-person consultation. Dr. Ayberk was polite and professional. He took photos, explained the procedure, and answered my questions.
After that, we went back to the hospital and waited again until my room was ready. I had to complete a lot of paperwork; thankfully, it was in English. Overall, communication was a challenge, as most of the hospital staff did not speak English. Dr. Ayberk and his assistant were the only people I could communicate with comfortably, and she was very helpful throughout the process.
The nurses completed bloodwork and prepared me for surgery. In the operating room, there were several nurses present, all speaking their language. My main concern was the lack of communication right before surgery; a mask was placed over my face without any explanation of what was happening, and that was the last thing I remember before the procedure.
While we were told the surgery would take an hour, I wasn’t back in my room for four hours. This caused my husband a lot of stress, especially since he couldn't communicate with the staff to get updates.
I stayed one night in the hospital, and my husband was allowed to stay with me; there was a sofa bed in the room, which was appreciated. The next day, Dr. Ayberk visited and told me that there wasn’t enough fat in my cheeks to proceed with the buccal fat removal but that the blepharoplasty had gone well. I was discharged and asked to return the following day for a follow-up on my bandages.
As for the results, the buccal fat removal was not performed, which was disappointing since I had been told I was a candidate beforehand. Regarding the blepharoplasty, I would say I am about 50% satisfied. I still have some visible under-eye bags and loose skin on my eyelids.
From what I’ve seen, Dr. Ayberk appears to have strong results in rhinoplasty & breast augmentation based on my research. However, my personal experience with these procedures was mixed.
