Should be marketed differently…

Would probably be good if it was marketed as a revision app, coming from a third grader. This app sucks. Unlike Xtramath, which gives u questions + a little bit of stress - because of the timer, Ixl gives stress and absolutely no learning. I am a very sensitive child (I cry very easily) so the smartscore just makes me overthink and makes me cry myself to sleep.

please let this app die

Bad. its just. flat out bad. it sucked so much that the kids in my school made a petition to get it removed, and a TEACHER signed it. the prinipal had to do something, so yah, they did. there's a petition to get the owner to delete it, and I fully support that. I think it wouldn't even be ALL that bad, but teachers give me like 50 at once. please just get rid of it

IXL SUCKS

Okay, i'm in 6th grade, and IXL makes my anxiety even worse. Dont listen to the teachers, listen to the students who are breaking down over this stupid website. If you are a school, get rid of this website! It teaches nothing except the fact that I have anger issues.

IXL is a great way to figure out if you…

IXL is a great way to figure out if you have rage issues. Just spend an hour or two on the same skill, and if you have minimal rage issues you might cry on the floor for a while. Moderate rage issues means you might have to stop yourself before you destroy your school computer. Extreme rage issues could send you into a deep depression. Eo yes, I think this is a great rage test. (Oh! This is a learning website?) I would never have known. To be honest, this is from someone who has been through many different math websites that I did not like. But I would rather do all of them then do this. Every lesson is more like a never ending test. There are two types. The easy one that you can do in two mins, and impossible ones with unclear questions and changing answers. Plus I think I speak for almost everyone when I say the smart score is the worst part of IXL. you can be at 97 then its like "you put in 1/3 but the answer is 2/6! go back to 78" then you get to answer 10 more questions to get back so you can do it again!

ixl is awful.

i've been using ixl since first grade, and i can say that this is possibly one of the absolute worst atrocities mankind has ever created. this app is horrible. every second i spend on it i feel lobotomized, and it feels like some of the worst hours of my life. i've cried over lessons because when you get it wrong they do the absolute worst job on planet earth explaining what you did wrong. their explanations can basically just be chalked down to ''wow you couldn't do this correctly but thats okay because you're awesome and will get it eventually!!'' in my opinion, this stupid app explains everything wrong with the modern school system. please, PLEASE, don't measure a students worth by how good they did on a random diagnostic where they dont even tell you the questions you got right or wrong half of the time.

This is sincerely the worst experience

This is sincerely the worst experiecne I have ever had in my 13 years as a student in the public school system. I was a straight A student my entire childhood. Then, in highschool, they introfuced a platform called IXL... In EVERY SINGLE CLASS... Many of these teachers began to completely get rid of days where we learn anynthing and just have us sit on IXL for 45 minutes and then leave. This platform causes stress, anxiety, and often times even depression for the students that have the displaeasure of using it, and causes laziness and lack of care from the teachers that use it as well. I cannot possibly discourage you to use a platform any more than I can IXL.

IXL FRICKIN SUCKS

Many teachers at my school have students learn with IXL, however IXL causes depression, mental damage and rage. Some students do IXL for HOURS just to receive an A on the assignment, causing lack of sleep and angry parents. Many students reported that if they get even ONE question wrong, they get bumped back eleven points or more! This is unexaptable and NEEDS to stop.

This app sucks.

This app makes me rage so much, I guess for me it isnt so much as anxiety or depression but it makes me very angry. I get 2-6 points for one answer I get correct and 6-10 points docked for an answer I get wrong. Its actually bullshit how much time I have to spend climbing back up from like three wrong answers inna row, and by then I get even more frustrated. I never even learn anything by using IXL, it's just something I trudge through to get credit for an assignment, I don't feel smart or accomplished once I'm done. This app sucks so much get rid of it please.

IXL punishes students for making mistakes

IXL would be okay if the ratio of points given for every correct answer was the same as every point removed from an incorrect answer. Every correct answer can give a couple points each time not including the 20-10 points given for the first couple correct questions. But after that every incorrect answer removes 4-7 points, very wonky ratio. And Ixl dosent care what mistake you make, even the smallest mistake can impact the score. There's many times where I've misclicked the answer and it removing points from my score even when I got it right, just a misspelling or mistype. And it's SO repetitive, after 15 questions it just gets very boring.

I hate ixl

Im a 10 year old child. IXL has this smart score that makes us feel dumb. I have went slightly depressed and ashamed of myself. I feel isolated in this way of mental torture as my way to describe it. I remember I broke down in tears frustrated from stress of the smartscore. It’s like a comparison. I wish they would remove and cancel IXL.

if I could rate this stress inducing garbage app negatives i 100% would. Last year during science i actually almost broke my chromebook because i was stuck in an IXL loop trying to complete 4 assignments. it was one of those ones where you have to get like 5/6 correct or something. i was on stage 2 or 3 and i got 4/6 correct and had to RESTART the ENTIRE stage AGAIN and i had to keep doing that stage so many times i gave up and googled everything and even contemplated using AI. IXL is a failure of an educational app. I honestly think Khan Acedemy does a better job at teaching and i actually learnt things from Khan acedmy and prefer that over IXL. IXL really puts the L into learning. It got so bad to the point i took full on notes on which answers i got wrong and which was the correct one for every randomized set and then i used that to finish the assignment. i genuinely think children should not be put into this much stress. IXL's claims are very much inaccurate. They do not care about us. The smartscore also makes me feel dumb and like i'm terrible at what i do. AND if i get an answer wrong then it takes away 8 million points and then i get into debt. then my teacher also had to make us reach mastery because why not make your students hate school even more right? So overall. IXL IS GARBAGE.

Bro IXL is not a good learning website…

Bro IXL is not a good learning website and it just wastes your time. All it does is give kids, anxiety and sometimes depression because they think they’re not good enough because whenever you fail a question it just takes away points that you need to finish the assignment and it’s honestly so stressful and it’s such a suckish website to learn on even delta math is better and I don’t even like delta math that much and I’m not just saying this because I don’t like math but I’m saying this because it genuinely stresses kids out and no one enjoys it. by the way, I have been using this program since 2020 or lower I hate it omg

IXL is utter torture

IXL is utter torture. My parents made me do IXL since I was in 3rd grade, and my devices were taken away when I didn't do it or if I didn't finish the ones I started. They made me do it because my grades were starting to slip. But when I got really good grades in 8th grade, my parents were like "See? IXL is good for you!" Little did they know I wasn't even doing it because they didn't check the analytics. I just sat in the living room doing random stuff on the laptop instead of doing IXL.
I've tried telling them that IXL has been wrong on numerous occasions and they've seen me crying in front of the laptop before. When I'm about to finish one at 98 smartscore, my heart starts racing, I become jittery, and when I get it wrong, there goes all my motivation. Seriously, don't waste your money on this garbage. There are so many better options.

Ixl makes you stress do not download

Ixl makes you stress do not download!
Im a middle schooler and I have this app called ixl that our math teacher forces us to do. It makes us stress. He expects us to do 3 ixls in 55 minutes! and with the smart score being rigged WE CANT DO ANYTHING I CAN ONLY GET 1/2 done and he grades it! so our grade goes down.
This is too bad.. People in my class cry over this and literally slam the computer. This makes us stress and makes us irratated and mad. THIS IS NOT FUN!

I am a Texas student in sixth grade

I am a Texas student in sixth grade. I have been using IXL for 4 years. It has caused me HORRIBLE ANXIETY. It gives statistics to teachers, so they love it. But for the students, it makes us feel frustrated. It doesn’t teach, it says you’re wrong, then gives a confusing explanation that has nothing to do with what your mistake was. IXL is a laughable excuse for torture. I learn more from ChatGPT than this. The smartscore just smacks you and says “you’re stupid do better!” Don’t use it, if you are stuck using it, tell your instructor that it is horrible, and provide evidence.
