I ordered a 3 month sub on 15/09, hoping I'd receive all 3 in time for Xmas. It is now 3/11 (10 weeks since order placed) and I haven't even had one crate go out, let alone be received. I asked for an ETA and they copy/pasted a roundabout response with no actual dates. I asked for refund but they refused. Would not recommend this service, wish I didn't waste money on it.

Bought two boxes and received neither. One was on the 8th of October, and then the 22nd because they messed up.
Now after almost 20 days they sent out the first one, a day later the remaining one. Both have shipping labels created but not received by the shipping company! Emailed them multiple times only to be told “sorry please wait” “Sorry shipping isn’t on us” “sorry”
Basically they got me for 100$ and I know not to ever give this company money again.
Photo does show how they kept saying it would be here and now it says “ready to ship”
Edit: They said for some reason it wasn’t scanned but they have no control of if a box goes missing. I can get another box or store credit but no refund.

UPDATE:
Today is December 13, 2023. Since ordering, on October 4, 2023. We have not received a crate (not one!), from the 7, that we were anticipating. We have received a credit, for almost half of the compensative refund and I was told that our credits (when/if we receive them) could be used on any of their sites. (Japan Crate, Sugio Mart, etc…) We have, almost, completely lost interest in trying Japan Crate. And we are now putting more of our attention into looking through all of the interesting merchandise, that is available, through Sugio Mart.
Hopefully, this situation improves, soon. I will update our review, when there is (🤞hopefully) a change.

*I purchased 6 crates, on October 4. Three months for my son and three months for household. I had the idea to do this, because my son’s birthday was on October 22. The crates, sounded like a great way to add to our celebration. Today, is October 25. We did not receive a crate, for his birthday (on/by October 22). And have not received a crate, at all. So, today, when logging into my account, it shows that no crates are prepared for shipping, as well, NO crates have been shipped. After a couple of weeks, I did contact the company with an email, explaining how excited we are about receiving the shipments, in the near future. And I asked, if there were any updates, regarding the first shipment. We received a response to my first email, without any helpful information, I was told that they were behind schedule. I wrote again, several days later. We did not receive a response. My family was so excited about receiving these crates. The running banner at the top of the first page, on the website, says that delivery would be in one to 5 business days. It has gone way beyond this window of time. An obvious irony to our situation, is that they have the opportunity to send me an email, every single day, inviting me to buy more stuff. But they never embrace the opportunity to send us the crates, that I have already purchased. This is bad business and expresses disloyalty to customers. If a company is so far behind that, they cannot fulfill their orders. Then it is wise and prudent to stop taking orders until you can get caught up. Leaving a customer waiting, so long, that they are ready to ask for a refund, is not good for business. But if we do not receive them soon, I will certainly be communicating my need for a refund. We love Japan and adore the many cultures, within their beautiful boarders. I have been impressed by everyone that we’ve done business with, made purchases from, or have had the privilege of meeting, from there. I find that this company, Japan Crate, has not been a very good representation of what to expect when doing business with the companies or individuals whom we have had the privilege of dealing with, in the past. I will attempt to update my review, when something changes.
Ordered crate on September 26th. Their website, in their own words says "Express Delivery Method,
Estimated Delivery: 7-10 Days". After said period of time passed, I contacted customer service, and they told me to wait UP TO 20 days after the ordering day.
After that day passed they did indeed send a shipping label! ...Which said exactly the same as before. "Carrier awaiting pickup, not shipped yet." I received that label 5 days ago and has not changed since.
I decided to order a different label of subscription box which also uses the same carrier (Japan Post) and surprise! They sent a direct shipping label the day after ordering and the crate got shipped 2 days after that.
Don't bother with Japan Crate, you can find multiple reviews of people who haven't even received their July boxes yet well into September/October. I'll most likely request a refund from the bank since customer service didn't even reply about a refund when I tried asking about it, just dodged saying "Your box will be shipped soon, please wait!"

Great overall experience, but doesn't feel quite worth the cost.
Snacks and umai crate, 12 month prepaid, user here;
The Umai as a far greater value than the snacks, as they tend to send a lot of cola flavored snacks. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, but i don't think I'd do it again with how much I've gotten left over and taking up space, but that's how it goes i suppose.

Great selection of snacks. Awesome and prompt customer service when contacting whenever I have questions. Only reason I gave 4 star snd not 5 is due to not getting my crate on that month but the following month, September crate in October for example, but I know how busy they can get considering how popular they are. Japan Crate, don’t let it get you down, keep up the fantastic job you guys are doing.

2 month have past and no box received. Cs just keep telling me they are sorry and will sort it but no one does.

I really liked my Japan Crate box. The design of the box and the themed toy are really nice, but it lasted almost 2 months to arrive, though I understand the difficulties it might’ve had to reach a country outside of the US.
I ordered 2 months' worth of crates (Japan crate, inku, Doki Doki and Gacha Gacha) in June and July and still haven't received anything. Been trying to deal with their customer support team who said I would get the September and October crates for free instead and yet I still didn't get them or any tracking information. I have been emailing them again to fix this and they seem to have switched to an AI to answer customer queries and my issue has still not been resolved.

I love these products and have got a crate every october around my birthday and will continue to enjoy doing so for longer. It is wonderful to have a little taste of japan and to just enjoy the spooky season with snacks and other goodies to share with friends!
