Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 112 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to communicate with, especially when dealing with product faults during the warranty period. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with product quality, including items breaking quickly, faulty headphones, and earbuds that stopped working or had design flaws. There were also numerous complaints about orders, with customers reporting not receiving items, lost orders, and difficulties with replacements or refunds. JBL Horizon (v 1)

I have a 4-yr-old JBL Horizon (version 1) that decides FOR ITSELF what channels to be on, when time needs to be adjusted & generally is out of control !!

Huge disappointment as it's not a cheap brand.

Would like to replace it but VERY wary of JBL.
Maybe Marshall better at the job

JBLworthless earbuds

I have purchased 6 pairs of JBL tune w225 ear buds over the last 1-2 years. I only have 2 ears! My wife likes to use them overnight which requires 2 pair as the battery life does not continuously operate for a full over night. No problem, we can live with this inconvenience. I use mine at the gym, doing yard work, and the charge time is just fine. However, one channel has failed over time on 4 of my 6 pairs. Customer service has recommended a full cleaning (of the buds, not my ears) and then a factory reset. This does not solve the issues. Now, I am out some $200 for faulty products. The battery life is ok, their ability to sync to each other is the problem. Customer support has offered a discount coupon. Why would I buy anything more from JBL? These products must be disposables. They should last longer than 6 months.

Like others I’ve had significant issues…

Like others I’ve had significant issues with JBL and the returns process. I returned one of two items purchased back in dec and as of 19th of feb over two months later have still yet to receive a refund! Frustratingly I can see the item stuck at UPS “awaiting additional info” but despite repeatedly emailing customer service at JBL nothing appears to have happened other than getting a fairly generic response back. There’s clearly some issue between UPS and JBL as noted in other reviews which is leading to a ridiculously bad customer experience. I will avoid ordering any JBL products in future whether from their own website or resellers based on this customer service interaction alone and suggest others do the same there are plenty of other audio manufacturers with far better customer service. The irony in all this is that I also returned a competitor’s product recently which was also via UPS and had a refund around 3 days later, while my refund from JBL has now been outstanding for +60 days!!

Worst customer service i've ever recieved

I would give 0/10 if I could. I ordered their Tune Beam headphones and when they arrived they were a dreadful fit for my ears. They were painful to wear and they fell out constantly. I have also noticed that they're not as loud as other headphones. My phone is contantly telling me to turn my volume down when I can barely hear it (other headphones i have do not do this) and the loudest volume is barely audible in a loud environment. I returned them as it says their return process is very straightforward. This is where the problems started. When you request a return it instructs you to use prigional packaging and affix a load of documents to the package. I did this and was then turned down as the labels were 'too small'and told to come back another day without all the labels I'd been told to attach separate. I did that, came back, everything went fine and my package got sent off. It got delivered to a JBL warehouse in about a week where it sat for the next two months. In these two months, I could see on the tracking that UPS was requesting information from JBL that they were failing to provide over and over again. I emailed customer support to see what was going on and was told the investigation would take up to two working days. I had no reply after two working days so asked again and was told it would actually take up to seven working days. Again I had no reply after seven so I asked and they said they'd get back to me, no time frame attached. Eventually they did get back to me, saying they'd provided the information however the tracking didn't reflect this. I enquired again and a very rude customer service agent passive aggressively told me they were 'kindly asking I be a little more patient'. I was genuinely confused and upset that I'd been out of my money for coming up to three months now and instead of explaining and reassuring me they decided downright rude was the way to go. Eventually the tracking showed it had been delivered however I recieved no email to tell me this and had I not been keeping an eye on it I wouldn't have known. Overall, this is the worst experience I have ever had with a company and I have never felt so disrespected in my life. Will not be ordering from here again.

Plutonium battery A+++

An amazing quality-price ratio. Good microphone and over decent sound. Hat off to the engineers for installing plutonium powered batteries as after 3 months of constant usage leaving the headset in car, out in the freezing cold still have 50% battery left

Used JBL for years

Used JBL wireless headphones for years as they offer great quality for a reasonable price. I’ve ordered multiple pairs and so far only one has not lasted me for years. They’re comfortable to wear and don’t hurt my ears after hours of wearing them I also like how they fold. I can’t say much for sound quality as I don’t know much about that but they sound pretty good in my opinion. Had to contact customer service once about a late order and they answered promptly and my order arrived not long after my query so I’ve had no problems with their customer service but I’ve only used them once as their dispatch is usually pretty good, within 2 days of ordering. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because one of my headphones that I’ve had for just over a year broke, like snapped, I didn’t drop them. I don’t know what happened as usually they last me at least 5 years, it was probably my fault but I handled them as I always did and it’s never caused any problems before

1-Star Review – Terrible Customer Service, Still No Refund!

Absolutely awful experience with JBL! I returned a product over a month ago, and I still haven’t received my refund. There’s some issue between JBL and UPS, but that’s not my problem as a customer—why should I suffer for their incompetence?

Every time I contact support, I get the same generic responses with no real solution. No urgency, no accountability, just excuses. This is beyond frustrating! I expected better from a company like JBL, but clearly, they don’t care about their customers.

Never again! Avoid at all costs if you value your money and time.

Fragile products, useless warranty

Hello,
Their products are very fragile, i got a JBL Live 660NC a year ago. And it broke while i was folding it. it didn't fall or anything...

And The support team wouldn't accept to fix it, said warranty wouldn't cover it.

Either build a robut product, or accept to fix it.

doesn't recommend this brand

AVOID THIS BRAND

AVOID THIS BRAND! Just bought a new Flip 6 speaker online from JBL Store through Amazon (Canada). Guess what, JBL sent me an open box, with a scratched speaker that doesn't even work... Had JBL in high regard but I won't buy anything again for them... Based on my experience I can say they are scammers.

JBL speakers offers a great variety of paper weights at premium prices! Simply place your trust into this shady company & you will not be let down! Or up. Terrible quality, terrible compatibility, terrible connectivity... Does it really do all those things in a rural area??? What about in the middle of nowhere (ideal for camping it said) 0.5/10 DO NOT BUY. Makes for a great paper weight. Incidentally my dog loves it, makes for a good chew toy... 0.6/10

Bought the Quantum 610 Headset in local store and I was like: It surely won't be that bad if i only pay slightly above 100€.
It is horrible. I'm never buying in-store again.
Sound like in ears from 2005. I mean the general quality seems good, but sadly the sound is just trash. We have the year 2025 and JBL can't do the most basic stuff. Especially high notes and "s" sounds like snare drums are a pain to listen too.
I can't even listen to my favourite songs, as they just sound worse.

I've had 3 JBL products in the last few…

I've had 3 JBL products in the last few years;

- JBL mini clip speaker
- JBL tune 230nc
- JBL tune flex

I had the JBL tune 230ncs a couple of years, and they kept going strong most of that time until the left one stopped charging. They'd got a lot of use and may have been through the washing machines once or twice... So fair enough!

I bought the flex to replace them and was immediately disappointed with the noise cancelling- which is to say they didn't actually cancel any noise despite the claims on the box. THEN the left ear stopped charging AGAIN within a few months. This is especially annoying because on both models they control the noise modes etc.

The JBL clip was a great little speaker until some friends turned it up full whack and it blew about a year into it's life.

So, all in all; a little disappointing and enough to hesitate from purchasing again.

Zero confirmation of dispatch!

I ordered a pair of Tune 770 headphones direct from JBL as they were on offer for a great price at less than 50%.

After I ordered I made the mistake of coming here and checking the reviews. My heart sank and I was regretting not looking beforehand.

I received a confirmation email and then nothing else for 3 days, and I thought the worst. Then out of the blue on the 4th day DPD arrived with my headphones! No dispatch email, no DPD text, nothing. My order is still listed as pending when I check the status, utterly bizarre.

I won't review the product here, but I am very happy with it. The service from JBL in one regard was brilliant, really fast delivery (especially at Christmas) and well packaged. However their communication leaves a lot to be desired, a dispatch confirmation is an absolute necessity in this day and age for a number of reasons.

All in all am happy with my experience but can see why they get a bad reputation.
