I had an incredibly frustrating experience with JB Leight Solicitors, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. The customer service I received was absolutely appalling—rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I was charged an exorbitant fee for late payment regarding my ground rates, which resulted in my lease management account being temporarily frozen. The only way to resolve the issue was for JB Leight to confirm the payment with the lease company before my access could be restored.

When I called JB Leight this morning to request urgent communication with the lease company they work with, specifically regarding the payment confirmation, I was met with hostility from their customer service team. The staff were dismissive, rude, and unapologetic. They informed me that the payment confirmation would be communicated to their client within five working days and refused to expedite the matter, despite the fact that my account was frozen. When I explained that this was an urgent issue, they showed no willingness to assist, stating that I was not their direct client.

This company is extremely inefficient, and their lack of professionalism and customer care is unacceptable. I strongly advise against hiring their services. Stay away from JB Leight Solicitors if you value respectful and efficient service.

Lack of communication. Charges escalate quickly.

Scum bags, no different from the scammers in india. Probably worst as JBL scam their own people. They have scammed old vulnerable people with outrageous charges. DO SOMETHING UK GOVERNMENT!!!

They sent multiple charges of interest when payment was already made. Tried to surcharge my grandma £2000 in solicitor fees and just ignored my email when they found out I couldn't be scammed. Jade Murran, Scum of earth and takes money from vulnerable people.

I am a solicitor and have had a number of dealings with this firm. Their behaviour is appalling. I have seen numerous occasions where they have made unlawful and unjustified demands under threat of legal proceedings. If you are being chased by this lot, I may be able to assist. Disgraceful company they were sent my details as RMG (another conning company) said I hadn’t paid, I sent J B Leitch proof that I hadn’t paid in April 2024, I called them they said someone will contact me, still I never heard anything so I emailed them they said it was being reviewed I called again and said they had the proof it had been paid to which they answered ‘that’s why it’s being reviewed’ I called in December 2024 and said I’d pop in and see them as I work near there offices, and was told ‘they don’t have the option to see anyone it’s a closed office’ I still haven’t heard anything

The worst solicitors ever. They do not listen, they manipulate and threaten. They keep on adding unjustified charges alleging breach of lease terms and when you contest and/or enquire, they simply put the phone down on you. They never listen and never respond to emails.

Just pushing you to pay .

JB Leitch need to be reported to the law society. They are blatantly trying to threaten and gouge me £800 for them to obtain and email address for their EandJ Estates client, also a gouger.
Never do business with this firm.

My response is, so what. I was impacted by your unprofessional and conman type behaviour. I’m presently discussing with the Law Society as this firm and staff need severe reprimanding and a review of their license.

They are charging people with extreme attorney's fees. For a bill of 400 pounds they have charged me 2600 pounds of attorney's fee. Their attitude was rude and threatening.

I think someone or some authority has to check this law firm because they are acting very unreasonable. I felt very bad. I felt like they were trying to get unfair money using law. That attitude made me feel very insecure.

I have had a couple of dealings with them for various reasons regarding my properties
I can honestly say I have had nothing but a five star service
Contact has been speedy and helpful I always get to talk to the person I am dealing with . The advice has been professional and all matters dealt with quickly and effectively .
I can’t say anymore than that . I will be using them for any other matters that are within their remit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Especially the office manager who keeps hanging up calls useless and stupid people. Rudeness harassment and bullying.

Thieves. As many many others have stated, they tried to extort £3000 from me for a county court judgement filed to steal my property from me for outstanding ground rent of £450 relating to invoices I never received.

Thankfully I play them at their own game and then they acted all surprised when I both copied in the local county court judge and forced them to disclose my ‘customer number’ and lo, it turns out it was an ‘admin error’ and all claims against me are ‘rescinded’. They are robbing and stealing from ordinary people using scams and manipulations and it is disgusting. Report to Solicitor Reg Authority. They are now also subject to a BBC One show investigation. Another filthy, thriving, corrupt robbing of the poor by the rich. Freehold literally exists for this kind of rubbish exploitation.

My suggestion for you:

1. Contact the county court and explain in full what has happened.

2. Demand the thieves give you evidence of the letters they have sent you. This will include the ‘customer number’. Use this to

3. Finally force the hand of your ‘management agent’ - you should now be able to ask them what address info they hold on you. They will refuse to share this but demand to speak to a senior manager

4. Magically they will discover that they do have your real address and will drop all their crappy charges and set up a direct debit for payment in the future.

5. Then complain everywhere. They need to be struck off for being thieves and crooks.

Completely useless, CUXTON (MEDWAY GATE) MANAGEMENT COMPANY LTD equally useless charging service charge for doing nothing. Had disagreement with them they passed my details J B Leitch. This is just cooperate day light robbery. Organization using the law to rob people BIG SHAME on you

I had an extremely disappointing experience with JBL Leitch. They charged me an exorbitant amount for service charges, legal fees, and even an administration fee just for collecting the service charge. The fees were excessive and felt completely unjustified for the level of service provided.

Their approach felt more like taking advantage of clients rather than providing genuine legal support – it felt as if they were just out to drain as much money as possible. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with them.

Absolute fkin cretins. They are part of a criminal property management racket. As crooked as they come.

Rude emails, rude staff. No professionalism. Don't get their facts rights on figures or have any empathy or compassion. Harass you with emails for payments. Add their owe made up frees. Need reporting and closing down

I don’t know how this company is still trading. The staff are beyond rude & the content of their letters are truly awful.
If anyone can recommend a good Solicitor in the Birmingham area please do- I am currently being threatened by them & in need of legal advice 😞

Had a lot of problems for over two year with FirstPort property services who then instructed JB Leitch to send me threading letters, claiming if I didn’t pay they would contact my mortgage company and have the amount added without my consent.

Their heavy handed bully tactics worked.

They then insisted/force me to not on pay FirstPort, but also JB Leitch for their services.

Horrible company I am glad to see the back of!

This is the worst company ever!

Threatening behaviour, unprofessional staff who just hang up when you challenge them and just generally come across as obnoxious. They send threatening letters, not in line with actual industry legislation and they try to panic you into paying them, by offering you discounted fees if you pay within 7 days. Their letters are poorly worded and threaten to “enter your home”.

Avoid at all costs and always seek proper legal advice before entering into any agreement with them.

My dispute was in regard to first port who never contact me back to set up a direct debit payment for a service charge.
