I was stood outside shaking for a good ten minutes until I pulled the courage to go in, the gym’s staff and people are very friendly and welcoming, for someone like myself who has ups and downs with high anxiety and depression this gym really has been a life line to help me.

This gym is constantly busy. If you’re wanting to start working out, this is not the gym for you. Due to the hours not being 24, the gym closes at 8 on the weekend at 10 on a weekday, this leads to a lot of people trying to cram in a workout which disallows you to have an effective workout. Furthermore, the gym doesn’t control how many people are in at once so you don’t know the count until you’re in and see yourself. THIS DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO HAVE AN EFFECTIVE WORKOUT.

Great welcoming staff, equipment is cleaned regularly which is lovely to see. A bit cramped when it’s full as it’s all one floor.

It is a great gym and a very convenient location but the only downside is that it is not 24/7. I have heard so many people wishing it was 24/7 like the other JD Gym in Manchester.

I was said somethings that by some staff that just made me felt unwelcome to come to the Gym

The place seems ok. It's a gym, and it has gym equipment which is always good. What I like though is the free classes, there are quite a lot even a yoga one. Ooo exciting times.

JD Gym (Manchester) equipment is always out of order and there seems to be no air con? It always smells and weights are always left out by other members. The app doesn't work very well especially because the gym is underground, can't get a signal to get the qr code to scan in or out, and the WiFi is very hit and miss.
Probably will switch gyms once this month is out.
They do have a good range of equipment though and very nice changing rooms.

Gym is very clean. Staff are great. Changing room and washing facilities are also great. However, this is a gym in the centre of Manchester… who’s idea was it to have just 2 sets of cable machines. I’m yet to get the cables to myself which is frustrating because I feel rushed when working out. There’s so much space in the building yet it’s utilised so poorly which leads to sessions taking for ever as wait times for equipment are extensive.

New member. Decent sized gym. Extensive facilities. Friendly staff. Perfect for me.

Amazing staff and I enjoy the atmosphere there.I know that I can ask anyone for help

Number of benches is great but number of equipment is quite low. Especially because it is always super busy.

Reply from JD Gyms - Manchester
No chest fly machines, only 2 cable machines always with queues to use. Not enough bench presses but way too many cardio machines

Reply from JD Gyms - Manchester
The gym has every equipment or machine that I need

Reply from JD Gyms - Manchester
Far too busy, small equipment selection and untidy free weight area with a limited amount and sizes of weights. Had to queue for all machines used, cables and benches.

Pretty big gym. Got everything you need. Gets slightly packed all day so have to go at night or morning.

The gym is actually better than my first impression.
Staff is really nice. Special thank you to Ian, who noticed that he never seen me in gym before came up to me, introduced himself and we had a quick chat which was very nice of him. This is when I thought I actually might stay in the gym.
One negative thing I find totally ridiculous is that the gym has sauna but no cold water. You came out of sauna hot and sweaty with no way to cool down, only hot showers available. When I spoke to the staff their answer was even more ridiculous: “Oh members complain about this for many years. It won’t be fixed”. We speak about this issue in sauna and all the complains get ignored and nothing get passed over to head office because they so used to it.
If I will leave the gym this will be one of the reasons.
