I recently completed an unforgettable trip with Jerry Tanzania that included a 7-day Lemosho Route climb on Kilimanjaro followed by a 1-day safari in Tarangire, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations.

From start to finish, Jerry and his team were incredibly professional, organized, and attentive. They truly catered to every need throughout the trip and made sure everything ran smoothly. The support team on the mountain was outstanding — friendly, encouraging, and always making sure we were comfortable, well-fed, and prepared for each day of the climb.

A special mention has to go to our Kilimanjaro guide, Eric. He went above and beyond at every stage of the trek. His knowledge of the mountain, the environment, and the acclimatization process gave us a lot of confidence, and his positive attitude kept everyone motivated even on the tougher days. It was clear he genuinely cared about our success and safety.

After the climb, the Tarangire safari was the perfect way to finish the trip. It was well organized and gave us the chance to see some amazing wildlife and enjoy Tanzania from a completely different perspective.

Where to begin! The kilimanjaro Trek has been something on my bucket list for 20 years. Only recently after turning 40 i realised i needed to get out and do it.
I started my journey pretty well knowing what route and length of time i wanted to do. I just needed a tour company, but wanted a smaller local operator so i know my $$ would go directly into the Tanzanian economy.
Jerry Tanzania came recommended by someone who had trekked with them previously and Im very grateful they got recommended for the reasons below.

Straight off the bat, Jeremiah (Owner of Jerry Tanzania Tours) was quick to respond to all enquiries i had. Even after i had made the booking and paid up in full, any questions i had were answered quickly and thouroughly. No question seemed too hard for Jeremiah.

Ease of Booking:
Easy to navigate webpage. You can book and pay in full or pay a deposit with an easy payment plan. You pay into the tanzanian bank so you can trust using your card.

The Actual Tour:

I chose the 7 Day Lemosho Route, it has ample time for acclimatisation for the altitude as well as fantastic views.
On the 7 day tour, day 1 is pick up from the airport. My Chief guide and Driver collected me promptly and made me feel at home and welcome.
On the first and last day of your tour you stay at a hotel, Jerry picked a comfortable and clean hotel in moshi which included free wifi etc.
On the mountain from Day 2-7, My chief guide and team worked their backsides off to make sure i didnt have to lift a finger. The Chef cooked unbelievable meals. I even had fried chicken at 15,200ft (4600m) above sea level.
My chief guide was incredibly knowledgeable on all things to do with the mountain and altitude. he educated me about the plants, geology and fauna local to the mountain. His knowledge and abilities made sure i was ready in health and the mindset to successfully summit on the 19th of October 2023. It was sad to leave him at the end because we had struck up a friendship. I hope our paths cross again in life.

Jeremiah & the team at Jerry Tanzania Tours really went above and beyond to make sure my Kilimanjaro dream come true, they gave me an experience that will never be topped by anything else i ever do in life. I could not recommend their company more. I even got 3 visits by Jeremiah the owner himself ( one on arrival night and two after the tour).

I will be back to do a safari next year and Jerry Tanzania Tours will be my choice for it.

We were a group of two families with children between the ages of 8 and 10. Leading up to the safari, we had a LOT of requests, such as accommodating the kids' shorter attention spans and many dietary requirements. Jerry took everything in stride and organized the perfect trip for us. Everything was brilliant from start to finish. Our drivers, Michael and Shirima, were friendly, flexible, and extremely knowledgeable. Every day was perfectly organized, taking into account the weather, our energy levels, the best animal viewing opportunities, etc. We saw all the animals we hoped to see and many more. The lodges recommended by Jerry were all fabulous with great food and service.

This was probably a once-in-a-lifetime trip for us and I'm so glad we chose to go with Jerry. Thank you, Jerry and team, for the wonderful memories!

I booked my climb of Kilimanjaro through Jerry Tanzania Tours and it has been a fantastic experience. Jerry and his team were super and helped to make the trip a once in a lifetime experience.

We were a group of two families: 4 parents and 3 children aged 8, 9, and 10. We traveled on a wonderful 9-day safari organized by Jerry Tanzania.

Before choosing to work with Jerry Tanzania, I did a lot of internet research, combing through Google results and reading reviews and advice on several sites. After early interactions with a few candidates, Jerry Tanzania bubbled to the top as my first choice.

Suffice it to say that this turned out to be a *great* choice. At every step of the journey, from itinerary design, to adjustments in reaction to new needs, to the safari itself, our experience with Jeremiah, Shirima, Michael, and the whole Jerry team was wonderful.

Throughout the pre-booking phase, Jeremiah was super patient as I asked questions, sometimes even springing new constraints on him (e.g. flight schedules). A typical safari might be shorter than ours and will include one more park than we visited (we didn’t go to Serengeti). It is a testament to Jeremiah's flexibility and expertise that he was willing and able to design us an unusual itinerary that gave us more time in each park, fewer hours each day in the car with the kids, and a wonderful experience altogether. Jeremiah listened to my ideas and incorporated some of them, but he was also able to say when they didn't make sense. Overall we got very friendly, effective, responsive, and personalized communications.

The day before our safari began, while we were staying in Arusha, Jeremiah and one of our guides, Shirima, personally came to see us. Not only that — one of our suitcases had been lost by the airline, and they personally went to the airport and retrieved the suitcase for us. They even had to negotiate with the airline employees...amazing service. In that meeting, we arranged logistics for the morning departure and discussed preferences and expectations for the whole trip. This gave us comfort and confidence about the trip.

We stayed in 3 lodges: 3 nights in the Tortilis Camp Tarangire, the Escarpment Lodge near Lake Manyara, and Lion’s Paw Camp at Ngorongoro. All were wonderful. Our favorite was Tortilis, where we could hear animals outside our tent at night, but never felt unsafe. Every time I ventured outside the tent, for example to watch “bush television,” someone from the camp staff ended up joining me and making my stay even better. Once we played drums together, another time our son got to practice throwing a Maasai spear! It was the people on staff who made Tortilis our favorite. Lion’s Paw has a beautiful facility, very friendly staff, and great food. Actually they all had great food. The mornings at Lion’s Paw (2200m elevation) in August can be very cold!

The only thing that could have been slightly better about our trip was that we had some short (~30min) delays when entering the national parks. Evidently we had paid our park fees so long ago that the exchange rate had changed, and now the amount paid was listed as one dollar too much — something the parks’ computer systems had trouble dealing with. The first time this was a surprise to all of us, and certainly not anyone’s fault from Jerry Tanzania. By the third time I did feel like maybe it could have been anticipated and dealt with by phone before we arrived that day.

For two families we had two safari vehicles. Though we could have crammed into one large vehicle, this was another recommendation from Jeremiah that I would definitely pass on to others with a similar size party. It gave us flexibility, for example for one car to head back to the lodge early if someone was feeling tired. Thanks to Jeremiah and Shirima and Michael, we did shorter game drives than you might with a typical all-adult party. That said, I was surprised at how long the kids remained engaged every day. They loved the animals. They enjoyed taking their own pictures. They loved being able to stand up in the vehicle as it drives through the bush. Not until our last day did anyone express a wish to go back early.

Our guides, Shirima and Michael, were excellent. They were knowledgeable, flexible, accommodating, friendly, everything you want. It was also evident that they really love the animals and the nature in their country, and that they enjoy their jobs. This of course was contagious. I’m not sure if they frequently get families, but they were perfectly happy to accommodate children’s specific needs such as needing more frequent bathroom stops.

I felt that the overall experience with Jerry Tanzania was very human. It always felt like we were listened to and watched out for by experts, but even more than that, it felt like we were connecting with real people who also saw us as people, not just customers.

Overall I can only express a hearty, unconditional recommendation for Jerry Tanzania.

Kilimanjaro was an absolutely incredible experience. I recommend that you do it at some point in your life, and you do it with Jerry Tanzania Tours! Everyone was so friendly, courteous and focused on ensuring we had a safe and positive experience. Our guides were knowledgeable having climbed Kili many times previously, and they helped us acclimate gradually, The whole team was incredibly caring throughout.

My husband Slavy and I booked 7 days Machame route with Jerry Tanzania Tours. It was an extraordinary experience we will never forget. The organization of the trip by Jerry Tanzania Tours was great - starting with the communication with the company before we arrived in Tanzania, the hotel before and after the trek, the equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc.), the food during the trek and the most important - the people of our team which made possible our successful climb to the summit. We were accompanied by 11 wonderful young people dedicated to their work. The climb starts from Machame gate through beautiful rain forest. We have been accompanied by the song of the birds and we have seen monkeys, too. Further we crossed valleys and climbed steep cliffs, and the landscape become more and more majestically. The night before the summit attempt we were as excited as before an examination but following the recommendations of the team leaders Danny and Benny and with their physical and psychological help we succeeded to reach Uhuru peak.
We would like to emphasize that the work of mountain guides in climbing Kilimanjaro is crucial. The right pace is the basis of the success. Our guides Danny and Benny are simply the best in that hard and extremely responsible job - guiding hikers in a difficult climb at very high attitudes like the one to Uhuru peak. With them we felt completely safe and confident. Our mountain guides carried as well a bottle of oxygen for any case - Jerry Tanzania Tours takes care of everything and especially the safety of their customers.

We booked a 6-day safari with Jerry Tanzania Tours through our Danish travel agency. We were not disappointed. We visited three national parks (Tangyrie, Serengeti, Ngorongoro) all had their uniqueness and we saw many animals, including the big five. The guide was excellent both knowledgeable, professional and good with the kids. We can recommend Jerry to everyone. Enjoy the safari

Starting from our trip planning with Jerry himself, this company provided amazing worry free (hakuna matata!) service for our entire safari. Our tour guide was Shirima and he was engaging, friendly, enthusiastic, and funny. We could not have asked for a better guide. He always looked out for our needs (bathroom breaks, when to eat, leaving a little earlier to maximize our time at the crater). The first day we drove in from Arusha (it is ~7 hours to the Kati Kati Camp where we stayed- also recommend) and did a few hours of game drive. The following 2 days we did full game drives in the Serengeti. And the fourth day we went to the Ngorongoro Crater. We saw SO MANY animals so close in such a short period of time. You could tell Shirima had tons of experience spotting animals and even knowing how to maneuver our car to get the best views. We were lucky to see 2 leopards up close, several groups of lions, 2 cheetahs, all VERY close. Lots of elephants, zebras, giraffes, gazelles. All the lunches were included. We stocked the car with snacks and drinks. There was even a cooler in the car! The Toyota Land Cruiser was comfortable and there were 5 of us, we all had window seats, and the top of the car popped up so we could see even better. There were even electrical outlets for us to charge electronics like phones and cameras during our drive. The car was cleaned every day. We had such a blast and once it was booked we really could just enjoy our time and not worry about anything else because it was so well taken care of. Don't forget a handkerchief as it can get dusty with the windows open out in the Serengeti. I honestly can give no higher praise, nor higher recommendation than this. Jerry Tanzania Tours made this an epic trip of a lifetime for us. What more can I say.

Successfully climbed Kilimanjaro, and afterwards had a relaxing and wonderful 3-Day Safari through Jerry Tanzania Tours in September. I can sincerely say that it is a great company, and the owner whom we personally met is a very nice person.
Not everything was perfect, but they really tried their best to make sure that our needs, questions and concerns are attended to and taken care of. And that to me is the most important thing for a service company.

We were a group of 6 guys ages between 40 and 68 years old. However, all 6 of us made it successfully to the Kilimanjaro peak due to Jerry Tanzania Tours' professional guides. The main focus for them was to make sure everyone in this team make it to the top, whatever it takes. Make no mistakes about this adventure, due to its high attitude and long summit day/night hike, this is not an easy task. This company is genuine and you will be thrilled by taking this Kili hiking adventure with them. "Asante sana" (thank you very much in Swahili, local language) and I won't forget about you guys, and I am talking about Danny, Benny, Jackson and Willy, my Tanzania friends. Thank you Jerry too for giving us this wonderful lifetime experience !!!

Just completed the Kilimanjaro trek - and made it to the top - the Roof of Africa. It was a test for sure. My group of friends went with Jerry’s Tanzania Tours. They never tired of all my questions before the climb. I recommend them for the trek. The guides were knowledgeable and very sympathetic to our needs, ie the breaks to catch our breaths! They had a chef to cook our meals. The porters were friendly and really helpful. So worthwhile going to the top with Jerry’s operation: they can be trusted to look after clients’ interests and safety.
We toured three safari parks with Jerry’s and their guide had a great knowledge and instinct for the job. He clearly loved his job and this was reflected in his sharing all his experiences with us.
The food and accommodations were great too - we had a professional chef for the safaris- freshly baked bread every day!
