If I could put zero stars I would
If I could put zero stars I would. Never taking this airline again. They have cheap tickets, but then try to get you to paid for your personal item or carry-on. Worst airline I have taken (& I travel a lot).
Don’t fly Jetstar full stop.
Despite being a budget airline, you end up paying more . They get you on weight of luggage, the seat you choose, food etc.
and their customer service is poor.
Most employees I came across are rude and combative and offer no help at all if you are struggling with your luggage.
I vowed to never fly with them again.
2hour and 25 min late flight
2hour and 25 min late flight. They offered no food or drink. I cant beleive they treat customers like this. I have been on to their chat for just under 2 Hours. Andra Nicole the 3rd agent fnally soted it out. I found her good but the others were not good. The bosses should be ashamed of them selves
Terrible experience in Sydney
Terrible experience in Sydney. Firstly the check in was chaotic we felt like we were in a cattle market. The lady at the check in didnt seem to know what she was doing. When we asked if we should check in our double pram in at the check in or could we do it at the gate we were told we could do it at the gate. When we arrived at the gate an older woman named Aridine (she didnt want to give her last name) said the pram was too big and we had to check it in but would now miss our flight. We disputed this as the lady at the check in told us we could take it to the gate and infact we had done this on all our flights so far and it wasnt a problem. She called the check in desk to tell off the person who gave us this advice. We then overheard her saying "ah **** thats my friend" she then turned around and said to us "I dont appreciate you lying to me" and then completely ignored us and started serving the next customer. We tried to reason with her but she became very argumentative and rude. It was shocking to say the least. Having travelled extensively I have never interacted with airline staff as rude as what I experienced in Sydney. Perhaps this lady was racist but its difficult to tell she definitely should not be in a customer facing role. I have since complained to Jetstar on their website but no one ever got back to me despite chasing. I assume Aridine was aware of this as she seemed totally unconcerned when we stated that we would be raising a complaint. I will never fly Jetstar again. Infact I will pay more for another airline as that experience really soured our holiday. Considering we had two small children their staff need to have more compassion they should try to help customers not make their life more difficult and any policy about prams should be clearly stated on their website or by their check in staff as this experience could have been avoided if we had been told that we had to check in our pram.
Jetstar Sydney worst treatment by staff
Very disappointing experience with Jetstar at Sydney Airport, particularly with an attendant named Tiffany. The conduct during boarding was humiliating and unnecessarily confrontational.
My luggage weight had been accepted in Melbourne, yet in Sydney I was told I needed to upgrade to 20 kg. I declined because my checked luggage was already 6 kg under my allowance (which I could show). Instead of offering a reasonable solution, such as checking the carry-on, I was required to remove items and wear them in front of other passengers. My checked bag had broken and I had to use a smaller bag, but there was no empathy or assistance.
During the interaction the attendant remarked, “you get what you pay for,” which reflected poorly on the airline and was deeply unprofessional. Even colleagues appeared uncomfortable with how the situation was handled.
After what had been a wonderful holiday, I left the airport feeling humiliated and in tears. I hope Jetstar reviews this incident and ensures staff treat passengers with basic respect and professionalism.
Jetstar are greedy
For some reason I was not allowed to bring any of my water bottles or sodas into the plane, even though I bought it at the airport after Security check. I Think the reason for this is to force the customers to buy drinks on the plane. I find it very greedy and I view it as very bad service by Jetstar. I have never experienced this before by any Company.
I had a terrible experience with the cancellation of my flight just 7 hours before departure and the refund
I had a terrible experience with Jetstar recently. It was the last time I've flown with them.
I was flying out early in the morning from a work trip and received a message saying my flight (from Melbourne to Brisbane) was cancelled just 7 hours before departure. I was lucky that I finished work late, otherwise I would have been asleep and missed the message. Their customer service is terrible; instead of apologizing and fixing the issue, they gaslight you say "you may be able to cancel your flight free of charge" and that the "refund may be in the form of travel vouchers". I told them there was no way I was going to accept vouchers, and I wanted a cash refund. They then "calculated" that the return portion of the trip was only to the value of $196 (and the flight out was $328). This was not true. Both flights were roughly $250. I certainly wouldn't pay $358 for a Jetstar flight to Melbourne. The receipt I received was for the total value of the return flight; it did not break down the cost of each flight. Anyway, lesson learned. I will never fly with Jetstar again and recommend that you stay away from them as well. If you do book with Jetstar, make sure you record the itemized costs at the time of booking to ensure you get a full refund.
Booking System Error Resulted in Paying More for Less
My sister and I booked the same Jetstar flight at the same time and selected the same options. During my first booking attempt, I selected a 15kg checked bag and was prompted to upgrade to the Starter Plus bundle (20kg checked bag + meal). I accepted.
However, when I proceeded to payment, I received a system error stating the fare had changed and I needed to restart the booking process. My sister completed her booking minutes earlier and secured the lower fare.
I then rebooked immediately, making the same selections. This time, I selected the 20kg checked bag directly (as included in the Starter Plus bundle), but the bundle option did not reappear and it was not clearly indicated that the meal benefit was no longer included.
The result: My sister paid less and received a meal. I paid more and did not receive a meal.
This appears to be a system flow issue caused by the forced restart after the pricing error. The booking process did not clearly distinguish that the bundle was no longer being applied, despite identical baggage selections.
I have submitted a formal complaint and hope Jetstar will resolve this fairly. Jetstar should ensure consistent bundle application.
I’ve been flying Jetstar Business to…
I’ve been flying Jetstar Business to and from Japan for 12 years. Yesterday Jetstar was unable to change the domestic leg of my return trip despite the fact that there were plenty of seats available on later flights and it would have avoided 9 hours stuck in Narita airport. Very disappointing!
Charged without notice
I was very disappointed to find that I was charged for the annual Jetstar Club membership renewal without any prior warning or reminder. I did not receive any email advising that the membership was about to be automatically renewed, nor any notice that a charge would be processed.
Automatic renewals without clear communication are not acceptable. Customers should at the very least receive a reminder before being charged. This experience has left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer.
I hope Jetstar reviews its renewal notification process to ensure this doesn’t happen to others.
27 Feb 2026 08:15 am flight delayed for…
27 Feb 2026 08:15 am flight delayed for nearly an hour now. ATOR 0913am and we still at the tarmac. Worst airline, unreliable and shameless. I will never ride jetstar ever nor recommend it to friends and family. I hope government and airline customer advocate will investigate jetstar and penalise it. Jetstar dont deserve 1star. Should be 0 star
Awful
Horrible, bloated website filled with requests to buy additional stuff. Also, would be great If I actually could buy a ticket, but apparently they cannot even process a simple card payment.
Unreliable. Poor service.
Today was My 2nd trip in 15 years with Jetstar.
Also the second time I’ve been left high and dry with cancelled flights. Poor service following cancellation. No staff available to answer questions or organise rebooking
Jetstar is the worst airline I’ve ever…
Jetstar is the worst airline I’ve ever flown with. No free food or drinks not even coffee or tea and everything on board costs extra. The entertainment screens don’t work unless you pay. It feels like everything is about making money, not customer comfort. Definitely not recommended.
Im inside a Jetstar plane right now
Im inside a Jetstar plane right now. Waiting inside it for over one hour after a 3 hour delay cause apparently there’s something broken on this garbage. Never ever flying on this thing again .
Deceptive description
Booked a flight with a stopover only to discover later there was an additional stopover not listed on the same tier as the initial stopover. Just deliberately misleading. Qantas/Jetstar have become such lousy brands.
I have used the airline and it was…
I have used the airline and it was good, the customer service/communication was great. The self service machine were new to us but it was good, just need practice to get use to the new normal but overall it was great. :) ^pg
Domestic flight in Japan
Domestic flight in Japan: Hand luggage is weighed before boarding and you will be charged, costs/jackets were not allowed in overhead compartment. At Narita Airport staff basically could not speak understandable English. Flight was delayed for take-off but somehow arrived on time.
Never again
Never again, would rather pay the extra money and fly with an airline where the staff aren’t arrogant and self centred. They think they can treat you like crap because you’re paying a lower fee. Not to mention the most uncomfortable seat I’ve ever sat in!
Horrible airline
Horrible airline.
Uncomfortable seats.
You can't bring your own foods on the flight, even if you buy then after customs. Probably because they want you to purchase from their own menu.
No entertainment, you have to pay extra for that.
They lost our luggage for 4 days. We made it an priority case and suddenly they found them within an hour. Kind of weird.. they must have been there already if you ask me.. they just didnt check properly..
This whole event delayed our roadtrip wich ruined our first week of vacation..
I'll never travel jetstar again. I'd rather spend a few bucks more for a better experience than fly with this airline again.
