Bad customer service

I recently bought 2 pins that keep the steering and the tiller attached on my boat. After finding out the name of the pin I thought I needed I found JG Electronics was selling a bolt by that same name. The pin I needed has very specific dimensions so to be sure I asked JG Electronics to check the pin that they had to see if their measurements matched mine. The owner of the company got back to me and said yes they did. He also said that his bolt was 14.7mm top and bottom. So I bought 2 pins from him with expedited shipping since it was going overseas. He shipped it right out and it arrived all things considered quite fast. The problem started when I got the pins, they are not even close to the right measurements. Worse than that they are 20mm top and bottom not 14.7mm.

So I get in contact with the owner, I tell him he said one thing and I've received another. First he tried to tell me that I should just change all the joints that the pin holds together so it fits. A suggestion that would cost thousands of dollars in labor and parts and it wouldn't work because the pin he sent me is much shorter than mine.

He continues to make random excuses ignoring the fact that he told me the measurements would match when I specifically asked him. Eventually says he would give me a refund on the pins Only, if I shipped them back to him. Mind you I spent near $300 dollars on shipping/customs and the pins cost less than $200 so I'd be loosing money. Also I would've never bought the pins from him if he had simply been honest about his pins measurements. I have to now continue to rely on the pin that I bought the boat with that recently snapped, I got it welded and then it snapped again. I have to hope that the welding on it survives a 5 day sail to Colombia because hurricane season is approaching and I don't have time to wait to get a new pin shipped. If it doesn't hold me and my family will be nearly stranded out in the middle of the ocean, so I'm very disappointed that I was lied to.

This company is not trustworthy and overall has terrible customer service.
