Big Expensive Mistake
The following is not an opinion piece. This review is based solely on fact.
May 2020, we hired Jim’s Landscaping to construct a backyard patio. We were happy with it. In 2021, we hired him again to install an addition to the patio, to support a hot tub. In October 2022, we contacted Jim to report a failing retaining wall that surrounded a fire pit. After several attempts to contact him, he replied and angrily sent his team over to repair the wall. On September 5th of this year, we contacted Jim (via his company email) and reported a failing (separating) retaining wall around the hot tub, and a failing (for the second time) wall around the fire pit. (pictures attached) He didn’t reply. On September 8th, we tried again. No reply. On September 14th, we contacted him by phone. We received a short text back stating that his team would be in the neighborhood the following week and would stop by. As of today, two and a half weeks later – no sight or word from Jimslandscaping kc.com. In the meantime, the walls have been repaired by a different reputable crew. In addition to this, I had to pull out and reset many of the border bricks because they were all sliding down the back yard.
Now, that being said, I am not telling you to refrain from using Jims LandscakingKC. That is your choice. But, if you choose to do so, you may well be writing a review just like mine shortly down the road. Something to think about.
