The staff at the Ashby branch are absolutely amazing, going above & beyond for us when buying our house. Nothing is too much trouble for them!!! If you are thinking of selling or buying would definitely highly recommend them. Mr & Mrs H 😊😊

We used John German in Ashby for the recent sale of our property. The sales side was handled excellently but our review is to thank Ian for all the hard work and effort he put into progressing our sale during the last few weeks of the process. Unfortunately our buyers had used a solicitor for conveyancing who at the end were dreadful at best. Thanks to Ian’s persistence we got over the line at the very last minute.

We had a brilliant service selling a property through JG. Matt from Uttoxeter did a great job marketing it and giving invaluable advice on how to present it. Sold to first viewer. Sales progress team, Vicky at Burton was phenomenal at chasing all parties and drove the sale through as quickly as it could go. We've bought and sold with JG and have nothing but praise for them.

I would not recommend taking up a rental if it is managed by John German. Having once been a landlord I understand how difficult it is, and therefore, I ensured I was the perfect tenant. I kept the property spotless, the garden tidy and clean and ensured the property was returned in a fabulous condition. John German tried to blame carpet stains (left by the previous tenant which were actually on the inventory when I took tenancy) on me, they accused me of using different paint (when I actually used the builder's paint supplied) and would not allow me access to the house to fill in a tiny dent in the wall caused by ill-fitting curtain poles (put up by the landlord) and instead I had to pay £100 for this to be fixed.
Be very careful with this agent, they will attempt to blame you for general wear and tear and even previous tentants' damage.

Awful customer service. Asked to view a house and gave availability and details on our position. Was then emailed asking for availability and details on our position…which we’d already given! I replied, as I really wanted to see the house, and got an out of office saying they were away for a week. So I forwarded the thread to the main office account. I then had to chase because after two days, no one replied to me. I was then emailed again asking for availability and explanation of my current position! Which I’d already given twice. Absolutely shocking customer services. Never did view the house, as we’ve put an offer in elsewhere and it was taking too long to arrange anything, just couldn’t get anymore. I feel for the vendor, as the house was really suitable for us and we may have made different decisions in what to buy, had we actually managers to arrange a viewing!

We have used John German twice and this is definitely the last time. We gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time, but not again. We sold the house within a few weeks and we thought great! JG booked viewings, we had 3 no shows, at weekends too, a woman that didn’t want to live in this area and other carpet treaders! When the house sold, it took 6 months to complete! JG kept telling us they couldn’t contact the other estate agents in the chain, which I find a little hard to believe! We had very little correspondence from JG (uttoxeter branch) and we were doing all the chasing! We feel JG work mostly for the purchaser, but it’s the seller paying them!!! The so called sales negotiator wouldn’t return my calls, in fact, once she was at her desk, then miraculously disappeared! I’m still waiting for that return call! Then any correspondence from her was always sent to our solicitor and she would cc me in the email! I would’ve liked to have been contacted, not find out what was happening with OUR house, through an email to our solicitor! Poor, poor service!!! When we finally completed, after threatening to withdraw, the sales negotiators were only interested in handing the keys to the purchaser! Everyone around us commented on how long this house took, to go through and this reflected on JG! No recommendations from us!

Frustrating. Coms is poor. One moment there is a probate the next is what probate ??!!! Poor responsiveness too.

Wrong tenant and atrociously managed. At least John German collected the rent and that's about it.

After a truly awful experience with our previous estate agents, the difference in the level of service provided by John German compared to them, was like night and day. We could always get hold of someone if we had any questions and were kept updated on viewings and any subsequent feedback. Would thoroughly recommend them to anyone looking for an estate agent in the future. Thanks again.

Amazing agents in Uttoxeter! Jessica Norton was outstanding when we suffered an unbelievably difficult chain! She basically saved us from loosing our house that we wanted to buy! She deserves a pay rise! Great work team!
