Written by the company

Underexposed is a course and private community for photographers who want their work to be seen by the right people. It was created for serious photographers who care about the quality of their work, but who do not necessarily want to become influencers, chase trends, or turn themselves into a personal brand just to get noticed. Many photographers make strong work, but struggle with the part that comes after taking the picture: getting it in front of clients, agencies, editors, journalists, brands, galleries, and people who can actually create opportunities for photographers. Underexposed helps photographers with that side of the job. Inside the course and community, members learn practical ways to improve their online presence, use social media with more intention, build a better website, understand SEO, show up in AI search, pitch their work, reach out to the right people, and present their photography in a way that leads to more inquiries, publications, commissions, and paid work. The company was founded by photographer and marketer Frederik Trovatten, who built his photography career without an agent, a marketing budget, or industry connections, with his work featured by National Geographic, museums, Facebook, Coca-Cola, Burger King, PetaPixel, Fstoppers, Ad Age, and Creative Review.

Rare to find a community where…

It's rare to find a space where working photographers share actual contacts and pitch strategies without gatekeeping.

I've been hanging around the group for the last six months and the community is great. If you are serious about doing this full time, you need to be in here.

I've learned so much!

I've been an Underexposed member for 6 months. Since joining my monthly new followers has grown by 50% and I have done a big SEO / website overhaul with the help from Frederik, the lessons and the community!

Can highly recommend Underexposed. The lessons are easy to follow and he makes complicated topics, digestable!

Frederik has a wealth of experience and knowledge in marketing and photography. His course is very well laid out easy to follow, you are not just thrown in the deep end and he personally follows up and reviews your assigned work. I would highly recommend his course to anyone looking to seek paid work with their photography and need tangible and current advice from an industry expert in both marketing and photography.
