Canceled order
I probably spent 30 minutes shopping for the right clothing. I submitted my order and got a confirmation saying it was good to go. About 36 hours later I got an email saying the order was cancelled. No explanation, no offer for a % discount for my next purchase, nothing. Pretty frustrating..
Misleading
My husband purchased a new suit for my son (16 years old at the time)
that cost about $150. I expressed concern because I knew my son would grow and felt that the suit was too expensive for a growing teen. The salesperson informed my husband that his suit could be altered at anytime for free. It is now a year and half later and the suit was worn once for a couple hours and needs to be altered. The glen mills pa store closed so my husband called the corporate office. They informed him that this must have been a local store policy and they will not honor it. My son is graduating this year and I am telling his friends and their families to stay far away from Joseph A Banks.
Flim Flam-ed, Bamboozled and Hoodwinked
I made a return that was received back(well within 180 days) refund period. The trouble is that they didn't complete the refund for 3 weeks after receiving the return. In that period the item price was dropped for promo by $16 x 2. So they finally refunded me minus the $32.00 ripoff. Never, ever will I shop with this company.I know that the pandemic has hurt everybodys' business and sometimes desperate measures are taken under desperate circumstance, but their must be more ethical standards than this flim-flamery
The 4413 Kingston Pike Store
The 4413 Kingston Pike store has very unprofessional clerks attending to their tasks. On 1-15-21 I made four purchases, three sweaters and one shirt (or so I thought). The inventory of the store was such that the clerk had to order a shirt and two sweaters for delivery. I was told delivery would be within five business days. On day eight, it had not arrived. The clerk claimed it had been delivered. It had not. We live in a very secure neighborhood, and no one breached the property on the day it was reported to have been delivered. It took an unreasonable amount of time to locate the transaction. The conversation I had with both clerks over delivery was very unprofessional. It was reordered. We discussed the two sweaters and the shirt. I received the delivery of two sweaters. No shirt. I called yesterday about the shirt. Promised to call back same day. No response. I called again today. The shirt had not been sold. The clerk apparently did not ring up that transaction. He denied even recalling selling the shirt, but in the earlier conversation he recalled selling the shirt. Today, he says he never recalled selling me any shirt. He got mad and said he resented being called out on the matter. I reminded him of the entire conversation at the time of the sale regarding the purple shirt and the conversation we had over the lost shipment. He got mad and was upset that I called him out on the matter. I told him his conduct would cause corporate problems if they were aware of his unprofessional attitude. He never made any suggestion to remedy the sale of the particular item we believed was part of the transaction. I did not care to pay for the shirt that was inadvertently omitted from the original transaction. These two clerks are very difficult to have a meaningful conversation with over their blunders. The older man ignores the requests and passes it off to the younger man. That young man is not trained to contend with issues and his frustrations overcome his judgment. He becomes resentful and complains about being complained about. Stay away from these guys. The former manager was nice, accommodating, and very helpful. But he retired. If you deal with these new guys, double and triple check their work. They are not the representatives from JOS. A. BANKS clothiers that I have had pleasurable experiences in the past. The professionalism and customer relationships are currently subpar in my experience with these two clerks. I frankly believe customer relations and problem solving with these guys are beyond any training they have experienced. Thank you.
Nothing but junk anymore
For years, when I could afford to spend a little more, I would buy something special for myself from Joseph Banks. Something a little styler, better made. For the last two or three years I’ve been burned on their products. Dress shirts, which was once their specialty, are junk—harsh uncomfortable material that when washed will shrink at least one size, sometimes two, and occasionally 3 sizes. This sweater i just splurged on is the final time they will get to dump the junk they are selling on me. It was beautiful—until I washed it, and the beautiful blue is now a dull washed out hazy color. It shrunk so much in that first washing that I can can barely squeeze into it. It shrunk so much it’s misshapen. Their products these days are equal to the worst of Walmart’s. Never, never again. They deserve Togo out of business.
This company's email list is…
This company's email list is trash.....their "sales" last minutes and not worth it. They never have enough inventory. Always run out and lol.....not that many people want to buy jos a bank. Heck even apple can keep a good amount of inventory. I get it's items you're trying to sell....it's not even worth putting on sale. I cleared my cart and unsubscribed. When I feel like buying something I'll Google. There's better clothes on the market. No longer buying from them. Would've bought note often if they had more inventory or met the demands. Just done with it all.
I wish I could give zero stars
I wish I could give zero stars. I must have placed 10-15 orders over the last year or so and like clockwork the next day I get an email that the order was canceled. When I call (waiting 20 -25 minutes on hold) they give the same lie of an answer saying the shipping and billing address don't match. Of course, they do I say, so I ask to place the order over the phone and they say it's out of stock.
Why do I keep on ordering you ask? Because they have great sale prices and I always think that maybe this time my order will go though.
Snobby and very rude

I ordered two shirts on 10/22/19 with a date of 10/31 from the Jos. A Bank Dedham Ma store .
3 plus weeks later. I did not get the shirts after 2 visits with excuses, I cancelled the order, asked for my monley back, and was refused until the manager called the company and was told I would get a refund in the mail which will be sent out in 3 days.. Have not received it as of Dec. 3.
. While I was there I saw 2 suits that were misdrected. the store is in Dedham Ma. Having said that, however, they do have some nice clothing on display and there is one sales assistent who was helpful as was the tailor on prior pants purchased.
Poor customer service and experience
Purchased a pair of shoes on sale at josbank.com. They charged my credit card then two days later, I received a cancellation notice with no explanation. Really??? When I contacted them, they claimed that they ran out of inventory since my order. They would not work with me to provide a comparable replacement. They admitted it was their inventory error, but couldn't care less the impact on the customer. Why shop with a brand that treats people this way? I know I won't be shopping with them again. Buyer beware.
Cancel Order!!
They don’t keep track of their inventory. I bought 2 pairs of shoes from them and the next day they cancelled my order without explanation. So I called customer service and they explained that they sold the shoes without knowing the inventory and once they discovered they didn’t have the shoes they cancelled my order.

Used to be a top notch company. They were my go to store for myself and three sons. Cancelled orders, no response, long wait for phone support that never arrived... Poor customer service = lost customer

Spent 30 mins looking at their website just for it to tell me that it couldn't process my payment.Strange, considering i have a charge from them pending on my pay-pal account.
Decent product, terrible service and shipping
I ordered 3 sweaters, in stock, on Dec. 15 with guaranteed to arrive before Christmas. On the 17th, my order was cancelled without reason, so I reordered, still with guaranteed before Christmas shipping and in stock. On December 22, I had only received 2 of the 3 sweaters so I call customer support. They tell me that the sweater I bought is now out of stock and may be back in stock in 2 weeks and that I should wait and call back to see if it's coming or not. Now I'm missing a Christmas gift AND I don't have enough time to order a similar item as this company doesn't even have the common decency to notify that their item is out of stock and may not BE in stock again and that I should just "call back in a week or so". This is completely unacceptable customer service.
Store 0389 Chattanooga Hamilton Place Mall Trans 0389*4*8764
Last evening I went to the Hamilton Place Mall Store in Chattanooga Tennessee. I visit this store whenever I happen to be at the mall. I nearly always find quality merchandise at reduced prices. I have one particular young man whose name is Benjamin T who takes care of my needs while I am there. I never feel rushed to make a purchase, Benjamin takes his time and gives me plenty of information regarding the item I am interested in. I have no complaints with this store. I think a lot of people think JAB is an expensive store and thus do not venture in. To those who have not been in, check it out.
Go weeks before the event
I wish they had negatives up here. My fiancé goes in a day before the wedding. His suit jacket is too short. They guy tried playing it off. Pulling the white shirt under. Then we ordered a bow tie and it came in a tie. So again they tried pushing a different tone of bow tie. Of course we said no so now the bow tie is getting delivered to the church before the ceremony.
A sad, lingering end
I became a customer about 35 years ago, when they provided much better products, service and prices than even Brooks Brothers. Then the company was saddled with a horrible Chair, Bob Wildrick; a man who thought that the best way to impress others was matching his and hers Rolls Royces, parked in front of his Palm Beach mansion. Mr Wildrick decided that the best way to grow Jos S Bank was to locate all new stores near the golf courses he best liked to play. That's why there are crazy numbers of stores in places where nobody ever wears a suit, like Cape Cod, Florida, and Hilton Head Island, and not nearly enough coverage in cities like Rochester and Providence and New Haven and Boston and Portland, Me. Joe Banks used to be a place you could get a quality suit for a decent price, along with all of the needed accessories. That is still largely true, but they prop up the never-ending sales with extortionate alteration and delivery fees. The sales staff used to make a very decent living, but the company has gradually made their commissions a joke, and hardly any of the staff are full-time employees. Being acquired by the vulgar, trashy Men's Wearhouse should have been the final kiss of death. I'm kind of surprised that they are still in business.
Very Happy with Many Purchases
At the start of Winter 2017, I chose to refresh my wardrobe with new sweaters. I first went into one of their stores to try a few for size, and bought 2 sweaters; 1 size XL and 1 size XXL. This variation in sizing is really the only reason I didn't give a 5-star rating, as some styles fit very snugly while other styles in the same size are loose fitting; more consistent sizing across styles would be appreciated. Based on the quality and choice of my first, in-store purchase, I placed an order online for 5 more sweaters, and received them within 5 days. I was so happy with my order that I placed another order (for a further 7 sweaters) 2 weeks later, and again I received the full order within 5 days.
When Spring 2018 rolled around, I needed some more lightweight sweaters, so I placed another 2 orders (for 5 and 4 sweaters respectively), and each order was received by me within a week.
In summary, within the last 6 months, I have bought 23 sweaters from Jos A Bank, and I am very happy with the choice of styles and colors offered, the quality of the products, and the speed of delivery. The only issue I have experienced is that one of the decorative (non-functional) buttons came off one of the sweaters the 2nd time I washed it; other than that, I have had no problems so far. I would happily buy from Jos A Bank again, either for myself or as gifts for others.
What a joke this company has become
What a joke this company has become. As they continue to reduce quality material and product quality in general, while at the same time raising the price, the customer service has now hit a new low. I recently received a gift certificate and purchased a dress shirt on line. Of course instead of the white dress shirt I received black dress pants. So I went to my online account to return the pants, and received a message that I had to pay $7 for the return shipping. JosABank screwed up and I had to pay for the return shipping, so I called customer service, where I was left on ignore for 30 minutes, before the cheerful clerk told me she would be more than happy to send me a shipping label to return the item for free. So my choice was to pay $7, or waste 30 minutes waiting for JosABank to get around to fixing the problem they created. I used to buy 5-7 suits here every year. Not now. Never again.
I wish that I could give this company …
I wish that I could give this company less than 1 star!! This is a horrible company for customer service - in fact, maybe the worst customer experience of any retailer!!!
I really think that this is a company that is grasping for time, but should be taken out to the pasture and "shot". This company is a thing of the past and should probably close its doors in 2018.
I have been a customer for many, many years and have seen both the quality of the product go down as well as customer service. The company's website is horrible, maybe the worst of any retailer. Good luck trying to purchase anything on the website. You select an item, seconds later go to purchase the item and the site says it is no longer available. You try to remove the item, but it won't remove the item and won't let you purchase anything else in your cart until that item is removed; so essentially you are unable to make a purchase!! Very frustrating! Then you try to call customer service and are on hold forever and nobody picks up the phone. Nobody connects via chat, nobody responds to email -- NOTHING! They "pride" themselves on customer experience, but their customer experience is the worst in the industry. If they are trying to be the worst, well then, give them 1st place!!! It is a horrible company to do business with and I am now DONE! Their merchandise is crap, their website is crap and their customer service is CRAP! Think twice about ever doing business with this company and hopefully in 2019, Jos A Banks will be a distant memory of a retailer!!!
