Warning: Repeated unauthorised £31 charges after cancellation

Warning: Repeated unauthorised £31 charges after cancellation

I strongly advise other customers to be extremely cautious when shopping at Josh & Tate.

I purchased a £27 wooden shoehorn, which developed a chipped, rough edge almost immediately. The company refused to provide a prepaid return label for the faulty item and instead offered only a 20% refund.

I was also charged £31 for a so-called “Mystery Gift” advertised as free, which I never received.

On 17 August 2026, Josh & Tate admitted in writing that the £31 charge was a system error. They confirmed that the associated subscription had been cancelled and promised there would be no further charges. After repeated complaints, they finally refunded the £31 in September.

However, on 10 October 2026, another £31 charge appeared on my bank account, despite their written confirmation that the subscription had been cancelled.

I have now had to contact NatWest to stop further payments.

This has been an extremely stressful and unacceptable experience. I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing from this company to be very careful with their payment details.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY: several weeks after purchasing from them they took an unauthorised payment of £30.00 from my card. I contacted them via email and they apologised and said it had been taken in error and it would be refunded. The actual item I ordered from Josh & Tate took ages to arrive and on opening I was shocked to see it was an incredibly cheap and nasty item. It did not match the website photos at all. It was described as having a ‘matt metal body’ - it was entirely made of plastic. It was a plug in wall light and the quality was so poor I wouldn’t trust it to be safe. Do not use this website, it looks very good and the items look good quality but given my experience, and that of others I would not buy from here at all. I have had to cancel my credit card and file an official fraudulent chargeback with my bank.

Such an awful experience!

Such an awful experience! I tried to resolve a billing issue and dispute a charge but not only did they not correct the first charge, they charged me again for the same amount so now I have two to dispute. They also supplied a customer service number that is out of service. My credit union has been notified and will investigate this. Don't purchase anything from Josh and Tate!

Please do not order from them

Please do not order from them. I bought a bathroom rug. I now see two lots of £30 from my Amex Sept and Oct. Monthly. They have blocked them now but I have to dispute the charges. Reading another review this is a regular occurrence. A dangerous site. I emailed them with no response at all. £60 they have taken.

Please be cautious using this website

Please be cautious using this website. When I used this website to purchase an item they added in a free mystery gift. However, the free gift never arrived and they my account £31. I queried this and did receive a refund but today they have charged me again for this fake gift. I will try to resolve this once more but I have lost complete trust in this company

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company. I bought a phone case and it took over 2 weeks to get to me. I returned it as it was cheap rubbish. It took over two weeks for my refund and I had to pay to send it back. They have since taken two payments of £31 out of my account without my permission. I did not set up a subscription. This company is a scam! I've now blocked them through my bank and I am raising a dispute.
