DO NOT BOOK,

DO NOT BOOK,
Horrible experience with Juicy campervans in Perth. The van was clearly poorly maintained from the start, The table was completely wonky, the sliding door never properly shut, and the van constantly beeped for hours because it thought the door was open. The central locking system randomly locked and unlocked itself every few minutes while we were travelling through remote areas, which made us feel unsafe due to staying in free campsites a lot.

one of the wooden interior panels collapsed in the middle of the night with a huge bang, and the fridge completely malfunctioned, turning one compartment into a freezer while the other stopped cooling altogether. The electronic controls did nothing, as did the staff.

Customer service was beyond a joke. The helpline was based in New Zealand how ridiculous is that, and the person we spoke to was no help. We were told we could contact the Perth office if anything went wrong, but once we left there was seemingly no way to get in touch with the people who actually gave us the van.

Overall, the campervan felt unreliable, poorly maintained, and stressful to travel in, All I can say is AVOID AT ALL COSTS

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I would give this 0 stars if i could. Very disappointing experience with JUCY and would never use them again.
Our campervan had constant issues for most of the trip. The sliding door sensor continuously beeped while driving for nearly two weeks, the door lock was faulty and regularly locked us out or unlocked itself overnight, which felt unsafe. The fridge was also unreliable, randomly freezing food or changing temperature overnight and ruining food.
Customer service was terrible. We tried contacting support while travelling remotely in WA but calls kept dropping out, and later we were told there was “no record” of the issues despite discussing them when returning the van.
For the price they charge, the quality of the van and customer service was nowhere near acceptable. Definitely overpriced and not worth it.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!

I rarely leave reviews like this, but this was honestly one of the worst rental experiences I’ve had.

We paid close to $2000 for a campervan and received a vehicle in very poor condition. From the start, multiple things were not working properly:

The fridge didn’t work, which resulted in us having to throw out food worth around $150
The diesel cap was faulty, meaning we were actively spilling diesel while driving – not only wasteful, but potentially dangerous
We were told at pickup that the AdBlue sensor was faulty but that the tank had just been filled. When returning the vehicle, we found out this same story had been told to all other customers, who were all expected to buy and refill AdBlue themselves

Throughout the trip, I was in contact with their team via email about these issues. Despite the clear inconvenience and costs on our side, no compensation was offered at any point.

The final issue—and the most frustrating one—was the wireless charging dock in the dashboard. It overheated a phone to the point where it was too hot to hold. We tested it again with another phone and the same thing happened. The result was a damaged camera, confirmed by two independent repair specialists as being caused by overheating.

JUCY has completely denied responsibility, claiming no fault was found. They also refused to provide any inspection report or details on how this was tested, while simultaneously calling their decision “final.”

What’s most disappointing is not just the issues themselves, but the way they were handled:

Problems were dismissed rather than properly investigated
Communication felt dismissive and procedural
No accountability was taken, despite multiple faults during the rental

For a company operating in this space, this level of service and vehicle condition is simply not acceptable.

I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Terrible customer help

We rented a campervan from Jucy in Australia, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.

While the staff were polite in communication, the actual customer support was extremely poor when it mattered.

During our trip, we encountered several serious issues with the vehicle:
• Water leakage, leaving us without access to water
• A non-functioning toilet
• Incorrect wheel alignment (the vehicle pulled strongly to the left)
• Steering wheel vibration at speeds above 80 km/h

We reported these issues early in the trip and were repeatedly told that assistance was on the way. Based on this, we stayed in Albany longer than planned. However, after days of waiting, multiple calls daily, and ongoing email communication, no real help ever arrived.

The situation lasted six days, and in the end, we had no choice but to solve everything ourselves, including visiting workshops and purchasing a replacement toilet. Even the mechanics we visited questioned how the vehicle could have been rented out in that condition.

This caused significant disruption to our trip, additional expenses, and unnecessary stress.

On top of that, we are still dealing with an unresolved financial issue: A deposit of appx. 300 USD is still not received.

We have contacted Jucy multiple times and have only received the same standard response about processing times, without any actual resolution.

Our overall impression is that while communication is friendly, there is a lack of real follow-through and responsibility when problems arise. Delays in assistance and refunds give the impression that customers are expected to eventually handle issues themselves or give up.

We cannot recommend Jucy based on this experience.

DON’T USE

We had a very disappointing experience with JUCY in WA after hiring a Star RV van, which is supposed to be one of the higher-quality vehicles in their fleet.

To begin with, we had to wait over an hour past our booked time slot just to pick up the van, which was frustrating and set the tone for the rest of the trip.

From the moment we finally received it, there were multiple issues that significantly impacted our experience. The screen was cracked and was never repaired during our two-week hire. The key for the water tank snapped in half, the hot water stopped working towards the end of the trip when unplugged, the cruise control didn’t work, and the air conditioning unit leaked all over our bed.

The air conditioning leak was so bad that we had to book a last-minute hotel for two nights of our trip around Australia Day which was stressful, unexpected, and not how we planned to end our trip. On top of that, the glow plug warning light came on, creating further stress and uncertainty during our travels.

While we were eventually reimbursed around $900 for hotel costs and related expenses, the overall compensation offered was completely inadequate considering the number of issues and the disruption to our holiday.

This trip was meant to be enjoyable and stress-free, but instead it was filled with problems, inconvenience, and disappointment. Based on our experience, I would never recommend JUCY.

Never Again

We rented a motorhome for 10 days for 6 people in Perth, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing.

The condition of the vehicle was very poor. The fridge did not work at all, the table holder was broken so the table was unusable, and the bed that was supposed to be converted for two people had parts mixed up, leaving space for only one person. The 6th person literally had to sleep on the floor. On top of that, rain leaked into the vehicle, the extra chairs we booked were falling apart just by looking at them, and overall the motorhome was completely worn out and neglected.

We also noticed traces of an old Apollo sticker on the vehicle, which makes us suspect that Jucy/StarRV buys old vehicles from better companies and rents them out again with the bare minimum of maintenance.

When we returned the motorhome and pointed out all these issues, the staff reacted very indifferently and even tried to shift the blame onto us. There was no person with responsibility available in the entire building, and we didn’t even receive a simple apology. We were told to send all complaints and feedback by email and that they would take care of it.

I sent a very detailed email to three different addresses, including the invoices for a promised refund (for an Esky), but five days later we still had neither a reply nor the money.

Very disappointing.

My tips for future customers:

Never choose Jucy/StarRV.

If you already booked, make sure every single function of the vehicle is demonstrated by an employee before departure — even if it takes two hours. It’s better than standing in the Outback without a fridge.

If you have complaints when returning the vehicle, do not let them brush you off. Once you leave the office, you are forgotten. Insist on your refund immediately and get everything confirmed in writing, ideally with photos.

Conclusion:
I was willing to give 3 stars if the issues had been properly addressed afterwards, but unfortunately I never had the feeling that anyone cared at all.

Still waiting for compensation

We would like to share our experience with this campervan rental company.

While the local staff in Perth were friendly and helpful, our overall experience with the rental was extremely disappointing. In particular, we are still waiting for a compensation payment that was confirmed in writing but has not been received to date.

From the beginning, the first campervan already had technical issues, including a permanent service warning, overdue engine oil, and a non-functioning stove plate. After approximately two weeks, a check engine warning appeared and the vehicle lost power. Roadside assistance advised us not to continue driving.

The rental company arranged a return flight to Perth. Although the flight itself was covered, this was still a major inconvenience, as our trip was completely interrupted and we later had to drive the same route again with the replacement vehicle (approximately 800 km).

Due to these issues, we lost several travel days, had to discard food and camping supplies, incurred additional costs, and were unable to complete large parts of our planned route. We also spent many hours over several days trying to reach customer support.

After returning to Perth, we received a replacement campervan. Unfortunately, this second vehicle also caused problems, as the electric step could no longer be retracted and had to be removed by roadside assistance, resulting in further loss of travel time.

Communication with this company has been extremely poor. Phone contact required repeated attempts, and email communication has effectively stopped. Compensation was offered and accepted in writing, yet almost two weeks later, no payment has been received and no response has been provided, despite multiple follow-up emails and clear deadlines. Due to this lack of response, we have now had to involve legal counsel.

Based on our experience, we strongly advise against booking with this company. If serious issues occur, communication becomes unreliable and confirmed resolutions are not followed through. We will not rent from this company again.
