I am a hand weaver. I make woven cushions using silk, wool, bamboo, cashmere and many other yarns. I also embellish my textiles with my own hand woven passementerie; braids and tassels. I work from a studio in Somerset. All my cushions are hand woven by myself in small limited edition collections. Catch them whilst you can! I make two or three collections a year and will sometimes add new designs to an existing collection. I use fine yarns such as silk or silk and cashmere mix but I also love to keep an open mind on what i use depending on the weave structure, colour or over all feel of the textile. The passementerie that I make is all hand woven by myself. I like to use a wide range of yarns and bring inventiveness into such a classic and beautiful endangered craft. There are so many options for the use of passementerie as an embellishment, it provides opulence, luxury and a wonderful opportunity to give a surprise colour feature to a cushion. There are many wonderful weave structures and combinations that can be used. I also feature tassels in my work. There are so many different types of tassel. They can range from the simplest to very ornate and detailed structures. Tassels add colour variety and a luxurious quality to my cushions.
