Not worth it

I tried the just russel subscription since it advertises high quality ingredients and it makes it easier to avoid the food being out of stock as it has happened with the previous dry food for my cats.

While they weren’t big fans the first time they did finish the bag of food with salmon and had half the chicken. I thought it was because chicken is not their favourite flavour so for the renewal I “changed” the recipe to just salmon.

My cats started having some minor digestive issues since they began consuming the food and by the time the salmón one arrived the flatly refused to eat it at all. I contacted customer service and their answer was to “try to add salmón oil to the food” which I had already tried to do so because I ordered their salmón oil, unsuccessfully.

Now, instead of offering a refund or a return to even one of the bags that is completely sealed their “solution” is to gift the food to friends because they don’t offer refunds (which I didn’t know beforehand).

Basically, I ended up having to purchase food from other brand which my cats actually like and losing 60€ because my cats refuse to eat this food or have the salmon oil. I do not recommend it.

I’ve changed my review rating because after the review I had a very pleasant experience with Cheyenne Callens from customer service. Thank you so much for helping me have an overall better experience in the end!

Is almost killing my dog
3 days after she ate this food from them that we bought
She do not eat , drink or anything
Her eyes are red and swelling .
How can u still sell such food?
And hypoalergenic?
Before we feed her Royal Canin and was not hypoalergenic and she had no problem
And now from their food my dog is almost dying......awfull!

My cat loves it

My cat likes everything, which is the most important thing. Except for the chicken broth cans, but she doesn't really dislike it either.
I love the personalized informations about the diet suggestions, and the shipment reliability.

I got a brand new package of just…

I got a brand new package of just Russel food lamb but am not my dog who loves food won't even touch it.

He gets a different brand that is 100% trustable and from Germany, holistic and pure.
Grain and gluten free.

His pooh with his normal food is small and does not smell and altough he did eat some of just Russel, he had terrible diagestion problems, smelly and runny.

I would like an investigation as to what they truly put in the fogs kibble as known of experience
Potatoes, cancercells grow on this( just to inform you if your dog has cancer or has had) , sweat potatoe is a veggie which is safe!

Also where does the meat come from? Is it free range? Is it the junk restings of the food?

It doesn't add up.
My dog has never ever been this troubled!

Staying Away! Suspicious of Recipe Change changing cats' eating behaviors.

I have two cats, ages ~11 and ~12. Both have eaten very expensive/reputable brand foods in the past, such as Orijen and Acana. I decided to give Just Russel a chance as they claim to make their pet food without grains, high in protein and more things I value. My cats ate Just Russel for 10 months, at the same speed they have eaten their food for as long as they have been alive. Since the latest shipment of Just Russel food, my cats spend half the time to finish their food. I know this because each cat has its own SureFeed Connected Feeder which tells me how long each cat spends over their bowl eating. Since the last two weeks, my cats have been (both) eating their food in half the time. So why would this be an issue?

No environmental/other factors have changed, just the food batch is new. I contacted Just Russel and spoke to two of their so called Veterinarians who double as marketing stuntmen doing mental gymnastics to deter people from asking the difficult questions.

I requested that I am provided with testing to prove that the 1-2 previous batches are the same as the latest batch I received. They first claimed they could send the tests but had to blur out names to protect the privacy of the staff doing the testing, then they resorted to sending me a list of ingredients without any indication which batch it's from, and no comparative data to detect if any changes happened from batch to batch.

They also sent me a screenshot of (literally) four lines written by someone (they claim is the manufacturer, but I can't prove that) saying that the food remains the same between batches, and nothing changed in the manufacturing process.

If from one day to another your kibble changes so drastically that a cat that was eating it at X rate, now eats it at X/2 rate, I take immediate notice and issue, and demand answers.

Just Russel resorted to gaslighting their customers by hoping I would piss off after they claimed that nothing changed and shared nothing but a screenshot of one table of ingredients, without any lab reports regarding the batch it was from, or any previous batches to confirm no changes happened over time.

If you love your cats, go for Reputable kibble brands that TEST their batches and are not afraid to share their lab reports with you, because you deserve to know what you feed your cats!!!

I only care about the best for my cats, so paying a little extra to go back to the most reputable brands is a small price to pay when a company like Just Russel decides to be shady and not comply with the simplest request of a cat parent who wants to know the ingredients of the food I buy.

Unless they start sharing their batch-results with every batch, this review shall remain a 1-star, and my advice to all cat parents will be to STAY AWAY from shady companies that make TOO GOOD claims. Our feline companions only live that long, I won't jeopardize their health with questionable food, and as long as Just Russel doesn't comply with sharing their testing from batch to batch, then I can only call their quality Questionable.

EDIT: They sent me a lab report of the latest batch (without a comparative report of the previous batch) and a declaration that there were no changes between batches. This doesn't satisfy the requirement of knowing the composition across batches to actually know what the difference was that caused the cats to completely change the way they eat after 10 months on their food. I am not going back, but appreciate that they sent at least something after they saw the reviews.

Not all my dogs liked it, customer service not available

I have 3 dogs, a part of the delivered food was eaten, a part not. I tried per mail, Whatsapp and phone to reach someone, but did not succeed. Just one reaktion via WA to be patient.

Low quality food made alergic reactions even worse

Tried their food for about 6 months, first tried a competitor but due to alergic reactions and low energy of my dog switched to Just Russel.

They claim their food is custom tailered to my dog, having received differt sized kibble (extra small, large, medium) when asked for their big kind, as well as different types of food (chicken, salmon, pork) by mistake I can confirm this is not the case.

Only thing they care about is your taking your money and sharing fake information about their anti alergic foods. My dog had mild alergic reactions before I gave their kibble, it got so bad I had to go to the vet and put him on real hypoallergenic kibble not their fake kind.

Just russel's main focus is special dog food for dogs on special diets and they failed their mission miserably.

Please people, if your dog has high quality food needs due to alergic reactions don't go with their food.

I am wondering if this is a scam

I am wondering if this is a scam . I ordered food a week ago and still haven't got it . No one seems to know anything but they sure are quick to ask me to reorder!! I don't get this type of service . This is beyond crazy. Ordered toys and liiter from USA and it got her already. I am in the same country and this company . 3 days max it should have taken . And asking for help seems to be unbelievable! Wow !!

After literally 10 years of searching...

After literally 10 years of searching for a dogfood that my dog loves (very picky eater), we found Just Russel. I am so incredibly gratefull! His bowels are finally diarea free and he does not vomit anymore. The customer service is also excellent (sweet and fast in replies) and for the first order we even got a toy as a present. It's also easy to adjust the delivery date to what suits me best. Could not recommend it more <3

Useless

Just Russel sent a WhatsApp message with a special spring offer. "When you place an order, you will receive a free premium dog basket". In this message, a picture of a relatively large dog was included.

As this seemed like an interesting offer to me, I pressed the "claim" button. Yesterday, I received the order. Indeed, it is a nice basket. However, as it is an extra-small sized basket, our dog does not fit into it :-)

I asked if the basket can be exchanged to a medium format, but this is not possible. Everyone received an XS basket.

In my opinion, this is a form of deception. It was not clear in advance that it was a small basket. It was the last time I ordered anything from Just Russel.
