DO NOT USE - €1,000 locked for a month and support ignores all emails

I strongly advise against using Juuli. On July 24, my account was suddenly placed under a "background review" with an automated email stating that my outgoing transfers and card spending were paused. I currently have €1,000 of my funds locked in this account.

The most frustrating part is the complete lack of customer service. The initial email said they would reach out and to respond if I had questions. I have sent multiple follow-up emails over the past month asking for an update or a timeline to release my money, and every single one has been completely ignored. No replies, no updates, nothing.

Strangely, they leave incoming transfers and invoicing active while blocking you from accessing your own money—which feels like a massive red flag.

If you are a freelancer or solopreneur relying on your income, do not trust this platform with your money. I am now forced to escalate this to the financial regulators to get my €1,000 back. I will update this review if someone from their team finally decides to do their job and unlock my funds.

Scam: I am responding to your response regarding my previous opinion

Unfortunately, your response does not address my main concern.

I am not disputing here whether Juuli is a bank or not. The issue is where my money currently is and why it has still not been returned to me after such a long period of time.

It has now been more than one month since my funds were no longer held by Stripe. I contacted Stripe directly about this, and Stripe confirmed to me that the funds were no longer with them. Juuli itself also confirmed this to me.

After that, Juuli asked me to provide my bank details so that my funds could be transferred to me. I provided the requested information. Yet, to this day, I have still received no transfer.

Your response refers to a possible “delayed review” or “document review”, but this does not address my actual situation. I simply want clear answers to the following questions:

* Where are my funds currently held?
* Why has the transfer to return my money still not been made?
* Why has the 14-business-day timeframe that was communicated to me been exceeded by such a significant amount of time?
* And most importantly, on what exact date will my money actually be credited to my bank account?

It is easy to refer to your Terms of Service and to Stripe’s regulatory status. However, that does not answer the concrete issue raised in my review.

Fourteen business days have now turned into more than a month.

I am therefore asking for a specific explanation regarding my case, rather than a general explanation of how Juuli operates.

I have the communications with both Stripe and Juuli available to document the statements mentioned above.

Unlicensed scam

It is probably a SCAM:
- got many emails urging me to sign-up (they send unsolicited emails = spam), got at least 5x of them
- in all of their emails their bottom links like the "Help Desk" link are dead
- if you login into their Dashboard you will see a "Support" link on the left bottom menu: that link is dead too
- on their website their "Privacy Policy" and "Terms of Use" are dead links (that's a bit too much no?)
- ran by Turkish citizens using two companies: one in Estonia called "JUULI OÜ" #16579396 (it did not submit its 2025 annual report as of today - 2 months late with NO Estonian contact person!), and the other in the UK called "JUULI FS LTD" #15371203 (their last submitted accounts show losses)
- finally they do not have an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license, they constantly use the Stripe.com's license/reference, as if they are somehow related to them...

This is going to be another disaster, worse than INTERGIRO in Sweden.

Dear Customer,

Juuli is a financial platform company authorized by Stripe as a platform, and it is regulated through Stripe. Behind Juuli stand Visa, Stripe, and Tenity, and we serve our customers as a trusted platform backed by these companies.

Having checked the relevant links, including our website, we couldn't identify any issue; however, we want to note that we've taken your criticism seriously. Also, our company is a commercially regulated entity both in the UK and in Estonia.

Lastly, unfortunately we were unable to locate the email address you provided in any of our platforms, CRM, or similar data pools. If you email us at support@juuli.com, we would be happy to walk you through our services and offerings, and look into resolving any issues you may have.

My account has been restricted for two weeks.

I’ve sent several emails. No one is responding.

If customer service doesn’t respond, how can I get my balance back?

I don’t like to call people thieves, but that’s exactly what this looks like.

Why hold onto your customers’ funds and ignore them?

This tarnishes your reputation. Everyone is complaining, but you don’t care.

Hi Edgard,

Thank you for your feedback, and sorry to hear this has been going on for two weeks without a response.

Your account runs on the platform of Stripe Technology Europe, Limited, an electronic money institution regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland (firm reference C187865). Stripe is the regulated party, and account reviews are managed by Stripe. Juuli operates on top of Stripe's platform to support you through this process.

Once any requested documents are provided and the review is completed, your funds will be released — this is guaranteed under PSD2 and cannot be changed. Reviews can sometimes take a while, so please check your email (including spam/junk folders) for any messages from our support team and reply promptly, as this helps speed things up.

It's been almost a month since Juuli…

It's been almost a month since Juuli blocked my outgoing transfer option after I received €1,300. They claim my account is under review, but when I contact them, I get no response that clarifies the situation or explains what's going on.

I don't find them reliable; in fact, I'd even say they should be treated with caution.

Probably a very young company, but extremely helpful.

This is an honest, unbiased, and detailed review.
There were a few teething problems at first. The invoices were generated incorrectly. However, since the new update, everything seems to be working great. At first, I thought there might be issues with KYC because I’m a German citizen but live in Northern Cyprus (a non-recognized country). The credit card was sent to a German address, so Germany is now listed as the tax jurisdiction in my account.
But so far, no tax ID number has been requested. As long as I’m staying within the law, I don’t care what’s on file for the account, because I’ve pointed out several times that I don’t live in Europe, but the credit card is linked to a German.
Support responds quickly to emails (which was a bit of a challenge at first, because whenever I replied to an email, I never got a response, so I had to keep using the chat in the dashboard. But now support works great)
The credit card supports 3D Secure, and I haven’t had any problems using it anywhere so far. The foreign exchange fees are also very reasonable (no hidden fees of €5, etc., per transaction). Only a small percentage of the current exchange rate is charged. For €100, it was a maximum of 50 cents.

I look forward to a long-term partnership.
P.S.: I can’t confirm the negative comments regarding KYC. I was probably one of the first customers at Juuli.io, and the KYC process may have changed since then. I think it’s fine that a KYC process is necessary, as long as there are no restrictions based on living in a country that isn’t accepted by many EU countries or is supposedly considered high-risk due to money laundering.
Northern Cyprus isn't exactly welcome in the EU either. Still, that doesn't mean everyone there is a criminal and/or involved in money laundering.
But I can also easily imagine that services like Juuli are often used for money laundering, or that criminals think they can simply use it to launder their money.

WOrst exreriances

This is not a good platform for anyone. ALl the positive reviews is provably m their own staff. I created a freelancer acount few days ago. All my documents were verified in the beginning. I pay euro 3 initially and subscribe to Euro 19 monthly. They were about to set up an IBAN account for me. Today I got an email from Thomas Eriksen saying

"We regret to inform you that the information and documents you have provided have been reviewed, and as a result of the assessment conducted in accordance with KYC and AML requirements, your account cannot be opened at this stage."

Mt al Domunets is Uptodate. I do not recoments this platform.

Dear Customer,

Juuli has over 17,000 customers we walk alongside, and our sole focus is to serve everyone under the same conditions. Juuli is a financial platform that provides its products through Stripe Technology Europe Limited, and it is the provider company — not Juuli — that applies the KYC/KYB & AML procedures.

Our support service is available 24/7 and we are always happy to answer your questions.

Yours sincerely.

Juuli is an excellent platform

Juuli is an excellent platform, a very innovative idea, and above all, very useful. The service is perfect, but there are a few things that could be changed because they're too rigid. The language and layout of the invoices could be customized to your preferences, because, for example, I'm Italian and need to invoice an Italian client, but I'm forced to do so in English. Otherwise, it's excellent, has no flaws or malfunctions, and is very effective. Highly recommended!

Title: Got paid $5,000+ — smooth experience

For anyone considering Juuli:

I'm a freelancer (with account in Belgium), invoiced a client in Latvia (EU) via Juuli. Once the client paid, I received the funds in my Wise account within 20 minutes — 10 minutes to process, and 10 more for the withdrawal to arrive.

The support team was fast — replies came in 5–10 minutes, even for detailed questions.

One of the key reasons I trusted them: their 2025 turnover was over €2.3 million (from Estonian public records), which gave me confidence that they’re working with a solid user base.

Some parts of the system could be improved — especially the invoice description fields and minor interface bugs — but that’s normal for a young startup. As someone in IT, I can see the potential is there, and the platform already offers a lot: invoicing, cards, fast payments.

Overall, I'm happy and would recommend trying it. It’s a solid MVP that works — and I trusted them with a large invoice, which was paid without issues.

Give it a try—this project deserves to grow!
