Karta card has to be activated in 30 days, but no warning of expiry. No waring in the email heading. Obviously designed to catch out people and not pay them their money.
Can Karta show what % of cards are not activated in 30 days - a lot I would say.

We don’t issue cards, set activation deadlines, or hide expiry dates. Our biggest deadline is usually “check-out at 11am.”

worse company to deal with ever in my 55 years of life. I booked and paid for a hotel and they, for reasons only God knows, they switched me to a bug infested hotel THAT I DID NOT CHOOSE NOR PAID FOR. I paid good money for a nice hotel. they have NO phone number listed to call them. even the front desk agents could not get a phone number. I was stuck. either stay in the crappy hotel or pay a second time for the place I wanted. I was in Charleston for a wedding. when I finally found, after 6 people looking for it, an email and the reply I got was "not eligible for a refund". So this company goes and does a "bait and switch" then say only "not due for a refund". THIS WAS THEIR ERROR. they took no responsibility for switching my hotel. they gave no reason for it. I paid good money for a nice hotel and had to stay at a shitty one. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. they had the nerve to tell me "why didnt I call them" - THEY DO NOT LIST A PHONE NUMBER... this is what I get for trying to save a few dollars . I will stick with booking.com and airbnb... STAY AWAY FROM KARTA IF YOU NEED TO BOOK A HOTEL

In rare cases, hotels may be unable to honor confirmed reservations due to overbooking or operational issues. When this happens, an alternative accommodation is arranged so guests are not left without a place to stay.
We’d like to clarify that our support team is available 24/7 via live chat and email and assists immediately in all situations. Unfortunately, you only contacted us after the stay had already been completed. If we had been informed during the stay, we could have worked to find another solution or assisted further at that time.
Despite this, we offered a 30% refund as a goodwill gesture, which is significantly above typical industry compensation in such cases.

Got one of the better offers out there on this app. Karta gave me roughly the price I expected yet it was slightly cheaper than Booking and others.
I was able to contact host via the app within an hour after making a reservation. Smooth experience overall, a new app among my fav travel apps to make use of.
