I did do an order

I did do an order, but since it was not in stock it was gonna take some time. But in the end I did receive a beautiful service and a katana that's worth the money

Positive rewiew

The sword ive ordered came in about 2 months and im very pleased with a quality of teh sword. Had a little issue with delivery becaouse of my working hours and customer support did a great job in rearanging delivery for me. From my experience its high quality service.

Great purchase

I recently purchased this katana, and I’m extremely impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. The blade is well made, with a sharp edge and a solid feel that shows real attention to detail. The balance is excellent, making it both practical to handle and a stunning piece to display.

Delivery was good and communication from Katamart was excellant, and the sword arrived very well packaged and protected. For the price,it is a great purchase.

Scam company claiming they in uk but takes 2-3 months to receive-if you ever do.shipping from uk takes 5 days tops.

3 katana delivered in last 2 years

I have had three katana delivered in the last two years all from the practical range and my experience has been excellent. Alex is very polite and has always gotten back to me in reasonable time if I ever had an issue . The only issue out of the three katana ordered was that one had rust spots on the blade at the inspection phase so Alex offered me a free tanto to wait an extra month or two for a replacement. In the end I said I'd like to upgrade the katana if possible and he gave me a 50 percent discount on the upgrade katana plus a silk bag for the inconvenience. I will definitely be using katanamart again to add to my growing collection.

Please read this review as I feel it best represents the purchase experience from Alex at Katanamart UK.

First of all, this is a drop ship product, I am fairly sure that Alex doesn’t see each individual item therefore there may be some quality issues that he is not aware of.

The Katana are hand made, they are pretty much as described, and the quality and price, if you receive the item in 100% as described condition, is pretty much value for money. Given the offers that are advertised. I would have been happy to pay an extra £50-75 per item for them to be inspected and finished by Alex, if that was a service that was offered.

The steel blades are as described. The finish probably isn’t as good as you would get if you paid £2-3000 for a Katana, but you aren’t. At £4-500 it’s pretty much what you would expect.

Sharpness is a bit hit and miss, but if you factor in £30-50 per item for sharpening you will get to paper and or plastic bottle sharp, which means the steel is decent.

I will be spending the extra to get them honed before actual use ins dojo.

The delivery and wait time is probably 4-6weeks too optimistic. So I’d suggest being patient.

I did find Alex a little slow to respond to some communication but he did respond and was professional and courteous in ever occasion.

I have yet to try the katana on Tatami, to see if they stand up to the claim of being Tatami capable.

I have given 5 stars, but the rating comes with a caveat that it will take longer to get what you have ordered, communication isn’t within minutes, and quality isn’t Ming Dynasty £20k future investment worthy.

Value for money. Yes.
Trusted. Yes but be patient.
Quality, you get what you pay for.
Will I buy again.
Yes definitely, but I know what to expect this time.

You're right—sometimes the sharpening isn’t exactly as we would like it to be. Even though we manufacture and inspect each sword individually, from the £100 models to the £3000 ones, small imperfections can occasionally slip through. This may be due to lighting during the inspection process or simple human oversight by our craftsmen.

No one is perfect, but if anyone needs a final touch-up with a sharpening stone, we are more than capable of doing it—free of charge in some cases, especially for our loyal customers.

We’d also like to share that besides our skilled team of craftsmen, we have Alex—who personally designs and handles our most sophisticated models. "Alex" is, of course, a nickname, as he prefers to keep his privacy while dedicating himself to the study and crafting of blades of all kinds and from all eras.

So rest assured: all our swords go through careful quality control by trained and specialized artisans in whom we invest a great deal. That said, we’re only human—and the occasional oversight can happen.

They sent me a blunt sword made no attempt to ask for sword back to sharpen it, very hard to speak to alex as sometimes he replys sometimes does not
Big headache look for a company that are more professional, poor quality sword for the money

Placed an order on the 27/02 and it’s now the 10/04 and sent messages to Alex asking why it’s taking all this time and no reply. I don’t trust this company and will be contacting my bank to get my money back seems suspicious when know one reply's

Great product

They produce and provide great products. Alex kept me informed with any issues that cropped up. The only downside is they are a little slow at replying to correspondence.
But all in all a great company and product.

Good response to an issue.

I had an issue with my order and can assure potential customers that certainly from my experience Alex does reply to emails and attempts to contact him. It did take a little while but he seems to have a lot to deal with. He resolved the issue I had and I'm more than happy with how things are going.

Fantastic correspondence...

Fantastic correspondence while waiting for my orders to arrive and offering great prices on amazing blades
Swords all arrived at once after a few delays and were fantastic quality, one had damage caused to saya in delivery and Alex promptly and happily arranged to have a replacement saya sent to me
Swords may take a while to arrive but definitely worth the wait

My sword is amazing. Very good quality. It took a long time to arrive being a pre order but Alex was good customer service he reassured me as I had problems with a different company, really happy.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service, Alex does not respond to my emails. I ordered in November for delivery December got delayed to end of December then to January. I requested to cancel the order for a refund and it was accepted but silence since then. Shocking and very disappointed. I'll be chasing this up with the c/c and solicitors.

In response to the reply: you still haven't address my decision to cancel the order for a refund. I'm being ignored by Alex for what reason?? I'm going to my solicitor on Friday if no reply to my email.

Late arrivial but well worth wait

I ordered my sword around november time and was expecting it around december time as i was told so by the company over email. And it ended up coming in January around 14 days after they said it would. After inquiring a number of times i got a well writen informed explanation to why it has been difficult to keep up on the increased amount of purchases around winter. They where insightful and helpful to assist in my confusion and to all those that are still waiting. To remeber these are authentically sorced and handforged not pressed by a machine. Therefore time is what allows these beautiful swords to arrive in good quality and not diminish it.

Once again fantastic service will be buying all my training weapons from here in the future.
