KAYAK is seriously misleading…
KAYAK is seriously misleading customers. You advertise “best deals” but push users toward unreliable and shady third-party booking companies that end up scamming people.
Prices shown on KAYAK are NOT real. Once redirected, customers face hidden fees, fake availability, impossible cancellations, or no customer support at all. When problems happen, KAYAK takes zero responsibility and hides behind “we are just a comparison site.”
This is deceptive, unethical, and unacceptable. You are knowingly allowing fake or low-quality agencies on your platform and profiting from customers being misled.
People trust KAYAK, and you abuse that trust.
I strongly warn everyone: DO NOT book through KAYAK or any third-party they promote.
This platform needs investigation and accountability
Shocking company users beware
Shocking company users beware, they have very little if any support and when you make a booking they don't display it in your trips via the APP. I had to call the US today to find my car hire company to cancel and refund only to be told it had to be done via KAYAK - work that one out when they don't even display the booking on there end and no means to cancel?
Quick enough to take the money KAYAK - absolute joke so please beware of this site when booking.
Hidden fee!!! No customer service
Hidden fee!!!! I am highly dissatisfied with a booking made through Kayak.
After receiving my initial booked email, the next day, the third-party agent "State" demanded an additional $$$75 fee to finalize the flight, citing a vague "price change."
I felt coerced into paying this $$75 to secure my already confirmed travel. This is unacceptable bait-and-switch behavior by a vendor you feature.
Their customer service stating they are "just a search engine" is insufficient. I was abandoned after using their service.
Kayak is fine if you book direct with airline/hotel
I've used Kayak a lot over the years, and it's always been fine since they usually redirect me to the airline's website to book the ticket.
However, my wife booked through Kayak for us recently and it directed our purchase through Airfare Assist. Our experience with Airfare Assist was terrible, and I'd recommend you stay away; I have no idea why Kayak continues working with them. Airfare Assist is either incompetent or deliberately misleading folks to try to pocket extra money.
We made an error when we booked and put a shortened version of my first name on the ticket. When I contacted Airfare Assist to fix my name, they claimed it would cost over $500 to fix it. I spent several days trying to sort this out with Airfare Assist including having the airline contact them to explain the free name correction policy, but Airfare Assist stubbornly maintained that the airline would charge them a name change fee and the fare difference in order to correct my name. This directly contradicts the posted policy from the airline and the advice I received on the phone from the airline's customer service. Airfare Assist's phone reps were confidently wrong with most of the information they gave me, and they were also very inconsistent with each other.
Amazing Price Drop Feature on Kayak
I booked a refundable one way ticket on Delta.com for me and my wife.
I immediately set up a Trip Notification on Kayak to alert me to a price drop. After checking daily for about a month, I received an email this morning from Kayak notifying me of a price drop of $1600 per ticket. I went to Delta.com to verify and utilizing the change option I booked 2 new tickets and received a $3200 refund to my credit card - not an ecredit. Thank you Kayak for this awesome feature on your website/app.
kayak.com promotes fake low cost flights
kayak.com promotes fake flights. At least that's what I found when I tried to get a flight from Bangkok to the US. I have photographs to prove it from the site. When I tried to book a flight they were advertising as low as $617.00 one way on Delta, but when I clicked the link I was taken to the Delta website where the lowest price ticket was nearly $2000 abd the highest was over$20,000. That is fraud. Where is the FTC when we need them?
Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service, their custoer care number is not working. Difficulty in initiating refund.
This company is a scam!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!
Show driver
Always loved using the Kayak app.
Today I couldn't find the well used part of the app where you could click SHOW DRIVER.
An invaluable part of why we use Kayak.
Please re enstatite this or it it just a blip in the system.
Thank you.
Be careful what pop up in your flight search
I was searching for a flight in KAYAK site. This was not unusual experience to me. In my search list, there was a link offering competitive flight. It was like a dream flight. But My dream flight was a nightmare.
If KAYAK want to know I can give the pop up crap site for further action for the reputation of KAYAK site.
I will do another review under their name of this crap site if I got the opportunity.
I hope KAYAK management will be vigilant so that user will be safer. Hope all can understand what am trying to say in short.
I'd give it a 0 if I could
I'd give it a 0 if I could. Total trash website! Filters are not recognized and only the higher price options show. Kayak had 1/10th of the flights all other sites offered. Do not waste your time.
Beware of Kayak
Tried to book a flight. Reservation failed but Kayak charged me $551.81. Cant get to Kayak to dispute the charge. They have a number but to take in voicemail. Their chatbot is useless. Wont connect me to an agent. Doesnt understand that my reservation failed and yet I was charged. Its garbage. Never bought from Kayak in my life and this is the first time ever. Never again. And I am out over $500.
Return was a hassle
Return was a hassle, had to wait 30 mins to be checked
Had an issue with one of their vendors
Had an issue with one of their vendors, Cheapvuelos. They tried to pull a bait and switch scam. When I wouldn't go for it, they continued to call and email me with threats. I contacted Kayak to report it, and Kayak was of no help. They apparently don't vet their vendors. Will never use Kayak again

After weeks of trying to unsubscribe, I have just blocked them. It’s the only thing I can think of.

Everything was perfect—from the ordering process to the final product. It works wonderfully and exceeded all my expectations.
I made my booking through Kayak because…
I made my booking through Kayak because I trusted their platform. I did not choose Underpricer — I chose Kayak. Only after receiving my ticket did I see that the booking was actually issued through a company called Underpricer.
Now, Underpricer is trying to charge outrageous amounts of money to make any changes, on top of the airline’s own fees. They have no real customer service or supervisors to talk to, and the whole process feels completely unprofessional.
It’s very disappointing that Kayak works with such agencies and then washes their hands when things go wrong. This is not how a serious company should operate, and it’s misleading to customers who believe they’re booking directly with Kayak.
Warning !
Warning !! Never use Kayak. When wanting to cancel a reservation, there is NO good contact information given on the email receipt. It is almost impossible to cancel a reservation. WORST experience I’ve ever had.
Usually Kayak is great, but not this time
Usually Kayak is great. This time I was looking at cars to rent at Orlando Intl. I clicked on the Sixt option and went through the steps. After I prepaid for the car and found that the pickup spot was not at the airport but rather 15 miles and a $40 Uber ride away. When I called Sixt to point that out they said it would cost me $100 to change it. I canceled the reservation and paid $100 penalty. This lack of disclosure is highly disappointing.
Advertised flights don’t exist when I…
Advertised flights don’t exist when I go to pay. Suddenly, they’re kindly offering flights that are over $100 more per person. Happens repeatedly. Flights are still advertised a week later at these low prices… but not real.
Horrible company
Horrible company. It used to be synonym for traveling but since 2015 it turned into pure garbage.
Every time I book something through them I get in issues from fake charges to hidden charges.
In Slovakia e.g. when I rented car, they charged me for mandatory winter tires more than for car itself. I chat with the broker before I booked the car and asked clearly are there any additional charges several times, not only once. I was told that what I saw is final charge. I pointed out I will be as bad as General Sherman if they trick me, and they said I should be assured there are no any other charges. I send all this to KAYAK and KAYAK did nothing. I was stupid to use them again recently thinking things might change and now I have issue with My Trip Online, again reached through Kayak. Now I have fake charges from them and had to report this to bank and deal with this. If you check this business online you will see I am not alone. My-Trip-Online is SCAM and KAYAK does nothing to filter these business unlike e.g. BOOKING.COM. I hate myself for using them again.... AVOID IT to avoid having headache! Btw I am so pissed that I wish CEO of KAYAK all the worse in life.
