It is absoloutely shocking that a company of this size has ZERO customer service! They locked me out of my retail account, and subsequently blocked my KDP, because I tried to change my debit card. They are still selling my book but I am unable to get into my account. When you try to get help they tell you to log into your account!!!!
Every time I call I get a worthless CSR.
Every time I call I get a CSR in India whom I cannot understand and cannot resolve my problems and cannot connect me with anyone live on a technical team. So I tick a box and describe the problem and never hear back and the problems remain. Come on Amazon. You can do so much better. Kindle needs to be completely overhauled and run internally with broad live and direct access to your people working in various departments. You are a case example of the worst customer service experience that should be studied by Harvard MBA students as lessons in what not to do.

I am a self-published author who attempted to verify my identity through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) in good faith. Despite repeated attempts to upload a valid government-issued photo ID, the system continued to reject my submissions. I reached out to KDP Support multiple times for assistance, but I was met with either generic replies or complete dismissal.
After being told they would no longer assist me, I received a message stating that my book was being published — followed shortly by another stating that my KDP account would be terminated.
This sequence is extremely confusing, contradictory, and unfair. I’ve invested time, effort, and creativity into publishing my work, and I am now being penalized without clear justification. No opportunity for a real appeal was provided, and I have not violated any terms to my knowledge.
I am asking that Amazon KDP:
• Re-review my account with actual human oversight
• Provide a working method for ID verification
• Clarify why a publishing confirmation was followed by a termination warning
This process has been frustrating and disheartening for a first-time author. I am seeking a resolution so I can either continue publishing or at least receive a clear explanation and access to remove my content if KDP will no longer allow me to publish.

I would give them zero stars if possible! I'm a graphic novelist and went to publish my novel on KDP Amazon and it was like pulling teeth. Finally got it formatted and after 2 days Amazon blocked it. I own all copyrights and it's my artwork and story. Amazon KDP also no longer
allows ebooks to be downloaded even though the customer pays for them. Avoid Amazon, Avoid kindle altogether.

My Amazon KDP Account Was Terminated Without Clear Explanation – Still No Human Response Since May 13
My honest Review:
My Amazon KDP account was terminated on May 13, and since then, I have made several appeals through the official channels—via the contact form, email, and even reaching out to jeff @ amazon.com. Every time, I receive the same generic automated responses telling me to wait 5 business days, but no real update ever comes.
I have done everything they’ve asked—offered to provide ID, documents, or anything needed to reverify my identity or my books. I even contacted Katherine from the Content Review Team who promised an update, but that was days ago, and I’ve still heard nothing. It feels like nobody is actually reading my messages.
This has been emotionally draining. I’ve invested so much time and effort into publishing on KDP, and it feels like I’ve been locked out with no explanation and no fair review. I’m simply asking for a human being to look into my case and give me a real response—not a robot.
Amazon, please, I need someone with authority at KDP to read this and actually look at my case. I want to resolve this professionally. I just want to be heard.

This company KDP Amazon is the worst I have ever had the unpleasure of dealing with in my whole internet life!! They are a huge company with no phone number first of all! 2nd of all how many times and again does everyone have to validate to KDP that they are who they show on their specific Valid Drivers License! And Now Again and again and again and again after 4 different emails that I have used to try and get a lucky hit. And during a 3 month spand of time I figured maybe this time (just today) this dumb AI will except my Valid NJ Drivers License, and yes I am a U.S Citizen since the day I was born in the U.S! And so this day I anxiously tried again to see if another email of mine will workout.. Nope everything was fine until I tried to verify my Real Valid Drivers License again, and of course this AI wont except it, like every other pass times through the months and different email accounts, it just does not want to accept it! And not only that your whole account gets permanently shut down of making any money because of this horrible flaw in their AI software, that is determining if you are valid or not.. But also the time and frustration of getting an account and up is almost not worth it for me!! And here's an example, today AGAIN this software told me that my Valid Drivers License does not have the same name as my account, well yes it does! This outdated AI system they have is flawed! Fix it PLEASE!!!! You are probably losing a lot of unhappy potential customers because of this! P.S why not have at least a live person chat to help unsatisfied people to help with mishaps like this?? Or at least change this flawed software system!!!!

Cancel culture at kdp is in full swing! No wonder they have not claimed this trust pilot account. It reveals them for what they really are. Beware, they have an enormous sense of entitlement to go with their 80% market share and they will set their own self righteous standards of acceptable conduct for kdp books based on their own interpretation of their rules. Then, when they deem you violated them, accidentally or knowingly, 1st time or 50th, they will ban your account for life with a generic and vague reason. They will ask you to be honest and plead your case and after you spend 3 hours on your meticulous email to them explaining yourself, they will send you a 3 line email saying you violated their guidelines and will be banned. Understand this is a very possible reality if they don't like your content, before you dream of making your full time income selling on kdp. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, HOW MANY PEOPLE LIKE YOUR WORK, OR THAT YOU ARE A NEW AUTHOR WHO MADE AN HONEST OR SIMPLE MISTAKE. They will tell you it was your responsibility to know the rules, yet they are the ones who decide when a violation has occurred, so nothing is clear and straightforward but left up to their own individual judgements of when a violation has occurred. I was having great momentous success with a book series that was taking off, until Sofia decided that I violated their terms and permanently banned my account. No warning, no suspension, no communication or negotiating or compromising or informing me of the rule with a stern 2nd chance, although she tried to make it seem like she was willing to work with me. Just woke up to a lifetime ban for violating their terms and misleading their customers? Despite all my work being created by AI. That's exactly who and what you are dealing with here with KDP. You could have a 5 figure income selling ebooks through them for years and then one day they decide they don't like something you upload or uploaded years ago and they just delete your account like they are throwing their garbage away. Be very clear, before you put your time selling on KDP, that this is a very real possibility. You can tell they don't like their authors, they have a sense of conviction towards them. Any way they can get rid of you. No mercy. Like cutting a toddlers hands off for stealing, they will give you a lifetime ban over a very small violation and will make it seem like you stole millions from them. They are cruel and harsh, and I am really grateful this happened now and not once I had hundred of books on KDP. Sofia was sure to tell me I couldn't make another account either or they would further ban me and they would take all my sales if I tried. I told her, that was all she could do, her power ended there. That my books live on with other sites. So quit power tripping and enjoy the review Sofia. They treat me like I'm the worst type of person, i'm disgusted and done with KDP, as I can see many are. Over next to nothing they bully you to satiate their own overgrown egos. Good riddance to you KDP.

Amazon Kdp have a so called strict policy against people buying and selling kdp accounts, but are still letting company brokers advertise and sell accounts for big amounts, brokers like Flippa and Empire!
At the same time KDP are also ignoring abnormalities and fraud in big selling kdp accounts, while being tough or cancelling low income accounts for no reason. Seems very corrupt to me. And also they are impossible to get in contact with, no customer service, no assistance.
Theft of royalties, undersales reporting
Before I begin this review I have been associated with them since their very launch and createspace days and when their reports were good and clear and now their reports are scammy and fudged so they can underreport the sales and scam you.
Initial years when createspace was there it was good and as time passed they have become complete thieves. my total sales generated on the platform is in six digits so I know what I am talking.
As I have a website and I run a promotion and I have readers coming back to me I know that I did sales for 56000 in the two months prior and the same was visible in reports but now they have suddenly decreased my royalty payment and only 15000 is showing as payable and from my website I know and the community members tell me that there is serious under reporting of sales as my readers can click on a button to tell me they have purchased so my website tells me I have sales of 56000 and the kdp software also was confirming the same but when royalty report is generated suddenly 2/3 royalties have disappeared. This is pure theft and scam.
Apart from this
1. Kdp has their own authors they promote and their own books which are promoted well and it earns for Amazon
2. Indie authors they limit how much they can sell and your book will never be visible
3. They limit your payments
4. They steal your royalties if they think they are too much and they will put that in their own other accounts as there is no watchdog
5. They have already done a billion dollar scam plus and they need to be reported to DEA and other authorities for theft, manipulation and jail time for those running the indie authors divison. Every author needs to report them to FBI, DEA, agencies for the biggest scam in history, accounts must be checked.
6. The new reports are in place so that they can hide all the information, and the new reports they can fudge easily and steal from you.

It is better everyone quit this scam and do other things as the good old days party of kdp is over and they are pure scammers, manipulators and thieves.

Closed account without proper reason
I recently received an email from KDP closing my account stating that I have violated their Terms and conditions.
I have uploaded a short book maybe 1 year ago and a bunch of notebooks 2 years or more prior to that.
I received an email a few weeks ago saying I would get paid so I logged into the account and realised I had sold 10x one of my notebooks back in february 25, I was so pleased.
And then a week or so later account closure stating they would not pay me and removed all my books/notebooks from sale.
I asked what I did wrong because I have genuinely no idea. I got some standard response: "A review of your account found activities trying to manipulate our services. This is a violation of Amazon Terms and Conditions. We are upholding our decision to close your account and remove your books from sale on Amazon.
Our Terms and Conditions are here...", most of the e-mails were also signed by the same person (except one) which looks like an automation (not a real person)!
Basically, there is no one to talk to to get an answer. Hours of work removed from their platforms and no royalties after my latest sale. Very dissapointing!

I can not express enough how frustrated I am with KDP customer services. My account was blocked and deleted for no apparent reason in January and no matter how many times I have reached out, not a single person has helped me. I am beyond frustrated and can’t imagine how a company operates like this. If I could give them a 0/100 stars I would!

I'm was in what one might call a dubious category in KDP, admittedly, that of fetish erotica. However, KDP exhibited the outrageous habit of publishing my many, many episodes for years, then deciding that I'd 'violated' their guidelines, always failing to address the glaring fact that THEY'D in fact published it in the first place. Fair enough. But, I was willing to go back and resubmit literally thousands of pages in good faith.

And now reading all the trustpilot reviews about closing down author's accounts for no reason, stealing their products and commissions and no customer service? Wondering if I made a huge mistake uploading my book on kpd! Certainly not a happy customer right now!

I received a letter written by a bot saying I was providing a misleading customer experience and a few hours later, another saying my account had been cancelled. No idea what the problem was and the communications I received sounded aggressive, and unhelpful.

Terminated for no reason. Lied about notice sent or emailed. No phone. Misguided, or disgruntled reps of KDP hide behind contact forms and "resolve" or "close" cases through their inane email message portal.
They removed titles from terminated account which I am the copyright holder and continue to sell my books.

I've published all my books on this platform for many years and today I get a email saying my account was terminated over one book that was published three years ago saying there was a violation of the terms and conditions which makes no sense and I'm finding out that many other self publishers are getting the same treatment. This is unfair and disrespectful.
