You can’t even put a price on the experience, knowledge and care you’ll get from Hugo and his team. Thank you Betty, Edwin, Augustus and Collins for being the kindest hosts. Our daily schedule was perfectly replicated to mimic how elite Kenyan athletes would train. Iten is also jaw dropping stunning. I’m so glad I trusted a fellow marathon runners advice to visit Kenya Camp

The camp in Kenya was an unforgettable experience! Not only did I have the opportunity to train in an amazing environment, running alongside real Kenyan athletes, but I also got to immerse myself in the local culture. I met some of the great champions and witnessed firsthand the passion for running that defines this land. It was a journey that went beyond just sport, full of emotions and discovery. Hugo was always available and so were all the team members. I absolutely recommend it 100%!

"Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground"

"Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground" – review Rianne van Rijswijk – The Netherlands – March 2024

Because I followed “trustmephysiotherapist” on instagram for good exercises and physiotherapy related information, the physio running camp in Kenya caught my eye. What a great idea to join a camp for physical therapists who love to run at a place were the champions train! I didn’t hesitate and applied as soon as it was possible. The organisation replied very quick on any questions I’ve had. Love that.

The ride to Iten was already memorable….I realised I was in a different world. As of day 1 , I met the other physical therapists from all over the world (11 different countries). It was a perfect blend from young and older people, men and female, and experienced and less experienced runners. We woke up early to run every morning (as you wish) and had a delicious home made breakfast afterwards. Most days were followed by seminars (theroretical and practical) from the Irish Physio. A great speaker and therapist! And then we had Hugo the running coach living in Eldoret. Because of him, we had the chance to visit a primairy school, a Kenyan professional runner (medallist), singers and many more real cultural events. It was touching… It made me feel so emotional because those Kenyan people are happy with what they have, which is not much. And they were so thankfull that we visited them. They are very humble, and shy people with a beautiful mindset and a lovely smile on their faces. For most runners there is no plan B, so they do everything they can to run as fast as possible.
This trip was amazing. I am happy that I could learn and improve my running , that I was part of a totally different world for a while but most of all I am inspired by the Kenyan people. Keep dreaming, keep pushing, keep going….
