Great School

I really like this school, and the staff. They are caring but also maintain that learning environment. The teachers are amazing, and work really hard with the students, and are always open to parent concerns and feedback.

Love the personable environment

Great teachers setting good examples while teaching our kids the core studies and educational advancements. My sons teacher is very helpful from late night emails to quick conversation in the mornings. The whole staff is friendly from the "good mornings" to the "see you tomorrows"

Overall, my daughter has really excelled at Keystone and I attribute that to the attention to moral focus as well as the commitment and enthusiasm of the teachers.

My son loves Keystone and so do I!

I would recommend Keystone to anyone who is looking for a school which not only encourages academic excellence, but which also teaches students to be aware of and incorporate moral and ethical focus into their daily routines. They stress the concept of "give respect, receive respect" and it is obvious every day in the classrooms, halls and assemblies. It is a small school so the kids all recognize each other...my son is in kindergarten, but on the way out of school, he always receives a half a dozen high-fives from the older kids.
Don't bring your child to this school if you don't want to be involved. They are constantly giving email and recorded phone messages about what has happened or what will be happening at school. They want parent involvement! I would much rather have my child be in an environment with children whose parents are involved and present than in one with mostly absentee parents.
I only have good things to say about Keystone. The teachers are awesome (The kindergarten teachers rock!!!) and so is Mrs. Godfrey, the principal (who, by the way, is found every morning either greeting students by name at the door or in the parking lot while directing traffic). They have a full workload for students and a little homework is expected even in kindergarten, but they have a lot of fun activities too. They encourage students to think about college even at a young age and even plan college field trips in the younger grades to get the kids excited about the prospect.

Keystone is a great school. I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to have well-rounded, respectful kids who will strive to be college ready.

Parents of 2 Keystone Students

I use to adore Keystone but, throughout the last few years things have changed. First, I love the uniforms and always make sure my children are in proper uniform and it is upsetting that others students are not, short skirts, wrong shoes, sweaters and shirts with designs-the list goes on and on. I even saw a student last Friday were sweat pants and she said, it was ok! Second, the music program sucks and the teacher is not motivating and teaches the same lesson since September. Next, I would like to see more opportunities for the schools in comparison to the public schools. Where is the technology in the classroom? More electives and options for the middle schoolers in preparation for high school. Education for parents on preparing at the elementary level for middle school. Educating the middle schoolers on test taking and study habits. Finally, I see no accountable and action taking place for students that break the rules, bullying and parents inappropriate behavior. I feel that Keystone cares about the dollar amount per child from the government and not the Mission Statement!

Enthusiastic Educators!

Through out the years in this school, I am consistently surprised by how enthusiastic my children's teachers are! It appears they truly love their jobs and work tirelessly to provide my children with a safe, supportive, and challenging environment. I am proud that my children go to Keystone!

Great School

My daughter has attended Keystone since kindergarten and I have been every impressed thus far. The daily routine is very regimented, which I personally feel is a must with young kids. They learn very quickly what is expected of them and are held accountable for their actions/inaction. The staff is very friendly and welcoming so you immediately feel like you're part of the family.

The only negative that I can see is the dismissal procedure. The parking lot is smaller than the number of people picking up their kids so things become very congested very fast. On top of that, the people picking up children from Young 5's and Kindergarten classes have to park first and then go get the kids from the covered area by the front doors. There is nothing wrong with this, but when parents of older children get there early and park to wait for dismissal, sometimes there is no place to park for the parents of these younger kids, resulting in double parking or parking on the grassy areas. I think perhaps reserving a designated area for the Young 5's and Kindergarten parents to park or even dismissing them 15 mins early would greatly reduce the chaos surrounding dismissal.
