Appalling! Avoid at all costs

Residential conveyancing is appalling, 5 months for a simple sale and purchase with a lease extension, we gave up in the end. Solicitor said she we didn’t tell her about the lease extension even though we were quoted for it and kept chasing. If you don’t chase nothing will get done by the way. My latest request to complain was completely ignored. Our solicitor appeared unorganised and hadn’t even looked at our file on a Zoom call, scrambling through papers on her desk totally unprepared. She asked my 79 year old mum if she was getting a mortgage. We wished we’d gone elsewhere but they used to be good. The stress made my mum ill and she had to pull out. Take my advice and avoid at all costs, you will find the experience stressful beyond belief, prepare for some sleepless nights. The solicitor ignored an important email that had sat in her email box for 2 months. We are preparing to take our complaint further. We had 3 moving dates that were cancelled the day before! It was all a DISASTER!

Excellent service from Mrs Curl on matters of probate

I had excellent service from Mrs Kalpana Curl of Kidd Rapinet when dealing the paperwork following my mother’s death. The process was dealt with in a friendly and professionally throughout. It can feel overwhelming to deal with all the paperwork when you are grieving and feeling vulnerable, however, everything was explained clearly, in a sympathetic manner, and done in a timely way, which put me at my ease. I would highly recommend the company and Mrs Curl for anything to deal with Wills and matters of probate.

No more as good they were,

Sorry, I don't generally write reviews but I think this one is compelling. I used this company for conveyancing work of my son on recommendation of my friend who had good experience. The file handler was rude, ask for more money and due to misinformation I ended up losing around £4K. After 3 months of the completion in August 2021 still waiting for my documents for the conveyancing work. Trying to reach to partner for urgent issue, but no joy. Sorry for this, I hope this may give head of the organisation insight of client's feelings. Finally Senior Solicitor Kulvinder got in touch with me. He was always helpful.

Hi Sunil, we are sorry to read your review and its difficult to respond to it on a public platform when it concerns your son's private conveyancing and SDLT issues but needless to say we don't quite agree with your characterisation of the transaction. BTW, everyone has to wait a little longer than usual these days for the land registry to process documents.

Awful.

Awful.
Lazy springs to mind. Slow. Inept. We did most their searching and communication for them.
Never respond, even when you complain.
Avoid at all costs.

I do not recommend this firm

I do not recommend this firm. They are slow to respond and only act when you phone to chase them up. They're quite sensitive to criticism too!

Thank you for leaving your feedback, Ian. Obviously we cannot disclose specifics on this platform but the time from initial instruction until we completed your matter was just under 2 weeks which we feel is very reasonable. Nevertheless if you wanted to discuss this further please don’t hesitate to call us directly.

Advice & Support with Equity Release

I would like to express my gratitude to Martin McCabe at Kidd Rapinet Solicitors who handled the legal side of my parents' equity release mortgage. He checked and re-checked all paperwork, explaining everything thoroughly to ensure my parents were fully aware of all implications, repayments, tax implications, and so forth. Professional, patient, and courteous at all times - thank you so much. Would highly recommend.

Do not use.

Our buyers were using this solicitors and I can only say how incompetent they were , holding things up and then on the day of exchange then having to report to compliance about something that they cocked up which was unbelievable . I've noticed the other reviews are equally as bad.

Hi Anita,

Thanks for your comments which are difficult to respond to as you weren't our client on this transaction. If anything did go wrong in the process, which does happen from time to time, we trust it was put right as soon as it was spotted.

Never met a bunch of rude solicitors…

Never met a bunch of rude solicitors before like Kidd Rapinet. I was recommended to them by the Estate Agency and it turned out to be an awful experience. You can't reach anyone on the phone, they are unresponsive to emails.

When you do eventually receive an email reply from them it is worded in two lines maximum and are very vague answers on the questions you ask. To think I paid for this service. I get the vibe from them that they are too busy to do anything let alone help the clients that are paying them. Buying a property is meant to be a happy experience, Kidd Rapinet have ruined this for me. Lack of common courtesy and manners is something I found among all it's staff apart from the receptionists who actually do their job it's just shame about the solicitors.

Please don't use this solictors

Please don't use this solictors. They never respond to emails, phones or anything. After a lot of chasing went to their office during Covid and they told me that they will get the land registered and they can't even get the plot number right. They charged tremendous amounts and even cheated me twice financially. They still haven't returned the full money to me yet.

I used Kidd Rapinet for the Help to Buy…

I used Kidd Rapinet for the Help to Buy purchase. If you can use another solicitor, please do. Kidd Rapinet were polite and helpful the first time I reached out to them for a quote, but as soon as I have paid a portion of the fee, their responsiveness has deteriorated, they became lazy and unwilling to help me with my queries. In addition to this the solicitor I was working with was borderline rude on the emails, refusing to answer questions I had in relation to the terms of contract and additional charges included in the contract. The purchase of your first home is a complicated and long process, and you do not need a solicitor who is not willing to cooperate or display professionalism to make it any more stressful for you. Kidd Rapinet were not responsive to my feedback either which is worrying.

Please avoid this solicitor at all costs. There are many other solicitors on the market to choose from and I suggest you read the reviews carefully before selecting one.
