Kin wouldn't let us adjust our coverage levels by customizing it. We were given a pre-configured quote. When we tried to change it halfway through, we were told we couldn't.
They renewed our policy without our consent. When I tried to cancel it they made it very difficult to do. There was no easy way to speak with someone. Chat was AI and was nearly impossible to find. I sent an email requesting cancellation, then was given 5 questions to answer before they said they would. After I answered their questions, they asked for a copy of our new policy. I told them no, please cancel it. They then called me and left a message saying they heard I wished to cancel it. I told them to quit wasting my time and to cancel it. I am now going to contact the Texas Department of Insurance to file a complaint.
I had a similar problem with Progressive two years ago.

I received an email that Kin was now offering auto insurance. I had switched homeowners to Kin several years ago and the savings were substantial especially since we live in Florida. My auto insurance was up for renewal and because I had 2 small at fault claims the rate practically doubled. I contacted Kin to get a quote. Theresa Smith provided a truly outstanding experience in the process of bundling of my home and auto policies and the discounts were substantial. I didn't need to look any further for auto insurance. Her professionalism, knowledge and personality were greatly appreciated.

With having a higher deductible than most, I am able to keep my premium cost at a reasonable level. I feel home insurance should only be used for catastrophic loss. I am managing my risk and betting that I will not have damage requiring insurance. After all, that's what any insurance company is betting when they sell you insurance.

went through was Matthew Tirado and he was extremely helpful and polite. He answered emails and all of my questions in a very timely manner and he also walked me through the entire process of changing our policy over. I would highly recommend Kin and Matthew!!
