Kinetico Water Softner gushed out water and flooded kitchen
I’m rating my experience with the Kinetico Water Softner, not a service. The softner was already installed when we bought the house five months ago. We decided to continue with it so bought the salt blocks, it does a flush clean sometimes twice a day (is this normal?) and we found that new fitted salt blocks don’t even last one month. The worst thing was yesterday when we came into the kitchen to find it churning out water all over the kitchen floor. Thankfully, we were at home and able to mop up with towels, it was flooded under our fridge freezer. We had been out earlier and I dread to think what state we would have come home to had it happened earlier. Needless to say my partner immediately disconnected the thing and we won’t be using it again. It’s unreliable and dangerous imo. So glad I didn’t incur the outlay for it.

Great customer service and quality salt
I contacted the team via WhatsApp for a problem that I faced with my water softener, they were super helpful, asked me to send a video and few pictures, identified the problem with the valve and sent me a replacement valve by post free of charge.
They also recommended few salt brands and I can totally see the difference in kinetico compared to the one I used before.

We had Kinetico Premier Compact water…
We had Kinetico Premier Compact water softener installed by Capital Water Softener in October 2022. For last 2 weeks the salt is creeping out everyday if even thoroughly I have cleaned this everyday from inside and outside, I did not expect a brand which is similar to Rolls Royce in Water Softener to give me problem every day. The one we before had worked superbly for 34 years. Kinetico Water Softner are not cheap and I am 73 years old I do not need this extra work and expense. I phoned Capital Softeners and they are saying there will be charge. Very disappointed with the product and the customer service.

First Impression
Not sure what this review is for - is it for the water softener or a question I raised?
The softener only just installed seems ok but too soon to be sure. The only downside to it is that it has no partitions to hold up the salt blocks. They say that they have stopped doing the partitions - most people use salt tablets (not very satisfactory for me). However, the price wasn't too bad in that it was cheaper than having my old Harvey machine repaired. Generally water softeners are way over-priced - especially Harveys and their installers.

Kinetico keeps on delivering!
We have had our Kinetico water softener for 23 years and it has behaved faultlessly. It has been moved to different houses as we have moved locations and it has never let us down. But just a few weeks ago it did stop working and developed a leak. Oh how we missed the softened water when we didn't have it!
The upshot was we called our local Kinetico dealer (The Little Plumbing Company of Sidmouth, Devon) and as he had fitted a K5 water filtration system a few years ago, we decided that rather than repairing the current unit, it was about time to retire it and we asked him to supply and fit a new Kinetico water softener. Hayden came and fitted a Premier Compact HF unit. Hayden is great as he knows his product so well and we have total trust in his workmanship.
Happily I can now report that we now have copious amounts of soft water and we are very happy once again.

Kinetico Kube - 5 years on
After almost 5 years of running, our Kube developed a fault. After booking an engineer, the issue was resolved. The engineer was very professional, and he explained the issue. After fixing it, he ensured the device was working fine by carrying out several test cycles. I am very happy with the service provided by Kinetico.

Kinetico block salt softener
I purchased a Kinetico block salt softener and had It installed by an accredited Kinetico installer, Advance Water Softeners Southampton. After several months of ordering a lot of salt on a regular basis, it felt like a salt selling scam. It turned out that the softener was faulty on installation. Well possible, this is according to the installer. Kinetico serviced the softener and said it wasn’t set up properly. Kinetico also told me my warranty wasn’t registered (even though they had all my details on their system). It is now ‘repaired’. However it would have been a much better investment to replace my boiler (and cheaper) . At the earliest opportunity I will go back to an ecowater softener. This has been too expensive and too much hassle.

Kinetico had recently acquired our local company Genus Watersofteners and we received a letter offering a special half price introductory Health Check Service.
Communications were very helpful and obliging.
To the best of our knowledge the Genus water softener unit had been working perfectly with annual servicing and no problems.
Kieran arrived and within 30 minutes determined that following a water test the "unit was not producing soft water because the resin had declined"
I asked if the resin tank could be refilled but was told no it couldn't. I read elsewhere that this can be done but then I assume it depends on the model.
Suffice to say that within the next 30 minutes after Kieran had gone I received a quote £1,695.00 for a new replacement unit.
I also did a water test from the same tap as Kieran with a professional kit and my result was a 'pink to blue' proof of softness with just 2 tablets.
Needless to say I did not proceed with a new unit and must warn anyone (especially pensioners) to get a second opinion from a professional plumber before paying a small fortune for something they may not need.
As mentioned earlier, our initial contact with Kinetico was a friendly and obliging conversation with the sales office.
Our experience was not to our satisfaction on this occasion and therefore I stand by my original suggestion of obtaining a second opinion as you would with any purchase of great cost.
However, I now acknowledge that customer service is of great importance to the company and I am grateful for the efforts they made to follow up and apologise and try to rectify the situation.
They offered to replace the resin tank for free but were honest in explaining that the unit does not always return to the original working order once it has been dismantled.
Honesty is the best practice.

unfit for purpose
Further to my review below you have asked for extra information which has been sent to Kien Bainbridge by email. The softener was purchased and installed May 2022. Replaced by your engineer Laurie in Feb 2023. Following continued breakdowns your engineer Michael Lowes attended 14/03/24. Machine continues to breakdown on a very regular basis rendering it unfit for purpose as it is a water softener that simply does not soften water.

Disappointing Service - Order Placed Before Christmas
Revised review thankfully Nyall sorted this out very quickly once he was made aware.
Issues with stock coming from US, buyer beware. Prices have gone up service gone down.
I placed an order with before Christmas, but unfortunately, my delivery has not arrived, and I have not received any tracking information. Customer service has been poor, with no clear communication or updates provided.
Placed on hold for 30 mins. No one knows what’s happening.
