KiPS is a full time mixed media Artist based in Essex with the moniker being the alias of Pop Artist Ian Salmon (www.iansalmonart.com). From being passionate about Art in school an IT career took precedent and it wasn’t until his mid 30’s that Ian started drawing again. This soon developed into painting and private commissions then a couple of year later started to sell his own prints. At the start of the pandemic Ian took the plunge and went full with his schoolboy passion and has not looked back since. The KiPS alias was created as a means to produce the contemporary artwork he always wanted to create. The artworks of KiPS blend numerous styles and modern methods such as utilising crushed glass and paintings with modern day street art influences plus use of resin. You will also find abstract expressionism with Pollock influences alongside gothic items with nods to Hirst. Most recently Botanical and Wildlife topics have been explored.
