Given a TK Wide water bottle as a gift. It looks like a lovely bottle, but the 32oz one is too big to fit in the car water bottle holder.

So I contacted them to ask if I could exchange for a 20oz bottle, and add an alternative cap so that the value of the replacement nearly matches the value of the original.

They replied to say they have a policy not to allow exchanges. Instead they ask people to use their returns policy.

The returns policy says they'll accept a return with an order number for 14 days (the bare minimum under DSR). I asked how that works for a gift, given I don't have the order number. They said, abruptly, that it would need the order number and it would need to be within 14 days of purchase (or returned by 12th January for things bought over Christmas). If there was over 14 days between a gift being bought and given, tough.

I asked how this fits with their stated value of people buying once and it's good for life, that they want 100% satisfaction and everything should be repairable so nothing becomes redundant. The reply: "The policy regarding exchanges is designed to maintain fairness and integrity in our transactions"

I honestly do not even understand what that means. If someone asked for a refund, I could see their hesitation there. But to exchange something unused for something else that is going to be used for life is an obvious application of their corporate values.

I conclude their stated values are largely just fluff to look good, and in reality they hide behind the absolute minimum they have to do and don't actually care about customer satisfaction.

I ve an insulated thermos Klean Kanteen. At the beginning it seemed better but two monthes later, it barely keeps heat for one hour. I am disappointed compared to much cheaper product.

I would be quite hard to design / manufacture a worse thermos flask than this one. (Sorry!) It leaks and more than once has filled my bag with coffee. It also blocks easily, so that nothing comes / the coffee is suddenly released and goes all over you. I would guess some combination of failed design, a lack of proper test and quality assurance.

Bought an Insulated TKWide Bottle and Kid Classic Sport Bottle. Was assured via email that the kid classic sports bottle came with a soft spout (my son is young and I was worried about the hard spout on his teeth). It did not and while they replaced it with another one it still wasn’t really suitable. I’m sure he’s going to be able to use it at some point, but it might not be for years. On top of that the insulated bottle leaked. In fact, it not only leaks, opening it sends a cascade of whatever was inside the straw onto whoever is unlucky enough to be standing nearby. Considering the products aren’t really cheap, it wasn’t really good enough.

I bought my son a bottle from their website and it broke within a month so he couldn't use it as the straw spout ripped. I contacted the company in regards to getting a replacement or a refund and have had no communication in return, this was over a month a go.

I was tired of my kids’ leaking bottles at school so I invested in 2 klean kanteens for them. We struggled with them for a year and now I decided to give up. They have the classic sport cap and I have to push it so hard to close that a child surely cannot do - it also feels very unhygienic that they have to close the lid using their palms because it is too difficult to do it with the mouth. And even if we succeed to close them they leak a bit. The small silicone that covers the hole to allow air entering the bottle, comes out really easily and that is also a weak point where the leakage happens often. My kids are bigger, these are not the first water bottles that we use but until now these are the worst and most expensive. I am very disappointed.

My worst spent 32 eur. I ordered a cup from the shop. It was leaking. I asked to change it, they refused, saying it’s ok, that the water is running from a closed cup.
I asked to to send it back, they said the cup is considered already used, because I filled it in with water to test it.
Zero service, no desire to acknowledge bad quality.
Fraud. This guys just take your money and do not care any more.

Their warranty is a joke. Their customer service is even funnier. I bought a mug for my daughter and my granddaughter knocked it off by accident. Now due to the debt the lid does not seal right. I filed a warranty claim and they only guarantee against manufacture defects. Their warranty wording does not exclude accidental issues(other popular companies do). They are not standing behind their product. Save your money.

When you put hot water in it and close the lid but when you open it with the flip up straw the hot liquid comes gushing out to the point it burned my face

Leaky, non-hygienic product + irresponsive Customer Service, they'll take your money and that's the last you'll hear from them. They don't even care about trustpilot, they know these models are plagued by defects but they are just playing deaf. Give your money to Hydro Flask instead or get a normal stainless bottle from the supermarket, I bet it won't leak and it'll have a mouthpiece cover. Cheap cheap cheap SHAME ON YOU!!! :D

I am REALLY DISAPPOINTED that despite the mantra that a Klean Kanteen purchase should be for life, when it comes to users of vacuum flasks we are ignored, abandoned and overlooked. They don't make a single spare part, seal or maintenance kit for the vacuum flasks.

I have a vacuum flask and I'm really pleased with it. But with constant daily use the seals on the lid are beginning to wear out. SO I'M GOING TO HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER FLASK. How is this good for the environment? How is this good for my pocket? KK items are not cheap, and one of the reasons they justify this is that they are for life. NOT IF YOU BUY A VACUUM FLASK.

The fact is, I'm so fed up I'm seriously looking around at other companies for a replacement.

Their supposed commitment to the environment is lies. They don't consider that there's enough demand for these items because they're only bought by old fogies like me. SO IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.

How could I have been so deceived as to believe that this company truly cared about the environment? They are no better than any other money grabbing company that charges the earth under the banner of eco activism. THEY ARE FRAUDS.

Purchased TKPro. Drink was tepid warm after just 3 hours.

I was glad to buy Klean Kanteen insulated bottle, it's stainless and build for outdoor uses, sounds very sustainable and strong. however, it lose its function(to keep water hot/cold) less a year! when I contacted customer service about the problem, hoping if it could be the seal broken and I could get a replace seal, hope to continue to use the bottle, I even attached the photo of my bottle and hoping they could help with the issue. unfortunately, the customer service Xavier's reply was really let down, not even answer my question and attached the link ask me to understand what is "insulation" means! I think people buy this so called build for outdoor bottle, knowing its function and suppose to build for outdoor uses! not a tiny dent could lose its thermal function! I use my bottle at home and occasionally bring out to shops, can't believe this is so called for outdoor uses.
I don't recommend this water bottle, for its price and quality, definitely not sustainable.

Order was missing an item. Company insisted I pay return shipping for the rest (I am leaving town and cannot wait for the missing item to be shipped). Had to escalate this to a manager.

It should be automatic that company pays return shipping if there is a problem with the order

Got given as a Christmas present by daughter Warned me keeps fluids very hot for many hours it did until recently when now coffee is lukewarm after 2 hours Bad buy

The design and materials of this thermos is outstanding, but if the company still hasn't solved the issue about the lid, then it won't stay hot (36 hours) not even close. The lid is getting hot immediately and it lets out heat. I did make a test against my old favourite thermo, which shouldn't be better at all. It was clear that the lid is letting out heat, much faster than it should.
I returned the flask with a hope of, that I just got a lid with a defect, and I could get another one.. but after a Google search, I didn't want to bother with buying/returning another one.
That's just a shame, because the design, materials, functionalities like leakproof and the 360 degrees pouring is just remarkable.
I hope that You will get the hot lid thing sorted out.

Ordered 2 weeks before Christmas and paid £4.95 for DPD next day delivery. Parcel wasn't delivered as scheduled - on the contrary, I received messages every day thereafter saying the parcel wouldn't be delivered that day either. Can only reach KK via email. No reply. Waited 40 minutes on hold with DPD to be told that they had no idea when the parcel would be delivered. Claim it's because of a backlog of deliveries though I've received at least a dozen other parcels since I began waiting for this one. I guess no one told DPD about Christmas. Ultimately decided to cancel the order altogether so I have time to get something else. KK did so without even acknowledging my email. Now short a Christmas present for my kids. Nice.

The sports/straw lids fail if a little seal/valve, that sits under the the sipper when it's folded down, falls out. Mine fell out. Doesn't seem there was much holding it in. I went back to my retailer (because "warranty"), they contacted the company where it was recommended, of course, that I visit the warranty section of the website. Once there, you start to realize how difficult they make the warranty process. All I want is a replacement part. Send me one. Sell them online, I'll buy one. But there's no mention of them anywhere on the Klean Kanteen website. I'm certainly not going to send the lid in for assessment at my own expense. I think they're counting on that. So, that will be my last 50 dollar water bottle. I should have known better. Not many good honest companies out there anymore.
