Appalling customer service -Avoid

Sold me incorrect track at model rail show. Left numerous messages and sent emails with no response apart from we will telephone you to resolve -no call from them. the worst customer service I have ever experienced- How are you still in business when you treat customers with utter contempt? Your customer service is a joke.

Model railway items

Only dealt with the shop online but they could not have been more helpful. I had a slight problem but this was resolved over the phone with a positive outcome. I was kept updated with regard to the order delivery.

I ordered a model figure on Xmas Day, they took my money and then sent an email saying on back order, it is now end of January and 3 emails later asking for the order to be cancelled and a refund. ...absolutely no acknowledgement from them!!!!! Avoid at all costs, they take your money and you get fresh air!!, Report to trading standards impending!!

My ordering experience with KMS Railtech

All I will say is read all the reviews before making a purchase, I wish I had. Took six weeks for order to arrive, just as the dispute with PayPal closed in my favor. So had to return item. Rail tech were very apologetic, due to family issues.

Revoution Trains JNA Tourax Wagons

I ordered two Revolution Trains Tourax JNA Wagons from KMS Railtech, I had a phone call from tem to say they had sold of that model, they were very helpful and sorted the problem out. The wagons arrived a couple of days later very well packed. They make an eccellent addition to my others. These models are very detailed and make realistic addition to my layout. Thanks Richard

Very very poor, taken £300 for a item that said was insinuated as in stock, hasn't arrived, impossible to get hold of anyone, no reply to emails, no call backs even after being promised it will be sorted.... now after days of ringing them.... no answer. Avoid this shop

Service wasn’t the best

Service wasn’t the best. Communication was poor and I paid extra for a 24 hour delivery which took 6 days. However, product availability and prices are good

Defective product with no support

I purchased several items from KMS Railtech two weeks ago for my 6 year old son, including a Class 91 DVT and a set of magnetic couplings.

After removing the stock coupling and inserting the magnetic one, the assembly disintegrated immediately. I attempted to glue it back but this did not work. A few days earlier I had successfully attached the same type of coupling to the Class 91 locomotive and coaches without any issue, so it was clearly a defective part.

I returned to the shop and asked for a replacement and for them to raise the issue with Hornby. The staff were friendly and tried to repair it, but ultimately they told me I should deal with Hornby directly rather than replacing the part themselves.

I followed up with an email on 22 August explaining that Hornby’s own guidance is that the retailer must provide the replacement, but I have received no reply from KMS Railtech. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 they are obliged to replace or refund goods that are not fit for purpose.

The result is an incredibly disappointed 6 year old boy and myself left £90 out of pocket.

I chose to support a local retailer by shopping at KMS Railtech, but this experience shows why so many people now turn to Amazon and other large suppliers where consumer rights are enforced properly.

Reply from KMS Railtech - Alford

Hi, we are sorry to see this one star review. By your own admission, you modified the item and then also tried to repair it. It is therefore not our responsibility to replace this item. We would then be left with an un-sellable, and non-returnable item. Would you expect to have your car replaced after a crash and self repair that you were not happy with?

We did try to help you here, but since you have tried to modify this, it is outwith our control and voids any warranty.

We fail to see why we deserve a one star review here when the product was supplied in good condition and was broken by the customer.
