Would give this company zero stars if…

Would give this company zero stars if allowed to.Sent an email to them complaining about what i percived to be fake offers, they were showing on black Friday.
Has no reponse after a week so resent original email and added, NO REPLY YET..
Few days later i got a survey, hahha , to ask how they had done, with reminder of " no repy yet" as the subject.
Of course i completed the survey to say they were rubbish, do they care!? no couldnt care less.
And just to add some of the exceptional offers they were showing, as bait, over Black Friday, and Cyber Monday couldnt be orderd as they were showing OOS but... low and behold... after promo they were back at full price.
Clearly bait to get you on there in the first place hoping you will buy something else at full price.
I will now shut my account.

Considering buying….. DONT!

Well if I could give this company a minus number I would. Yes their yarn is lovely, but try ordering it directly from them. I ordered twice, two different yarns and this is very obviously too much for them to handle. The earlier order has not arrived. The later order has, this is obvious on my account and despite me screenshotting this and sending it to them they keep telling me my order has been delivered. No amount of explaining that the tracking number they keep giving me is for one order and I’m missing the other is working. Their customer services are a nightmare, their responses on social media have dried up.
Fortunately I paid with PayPal and they understood immediately and are doing battle for me.
Never buying their yarn again

No refund received

No refund received. I returned some wool, pattern and circular needle (which was the wrong size for the pattern). This was over 2 weeks ago. To date no communication has been received from them or refund, and no way of telephoning them for a company based in Yorkshire. This is not acceptable in this day and age from a reputable company supposedly with a longstanding reputation.

Appalling quality and customer service

Have been buying from Rowan for 40 years, spent £100 on wool. One ball of wool had a deeper dye mixed in which caused a stripe. Emailed customer services who said they would send more yarn. Three weeks waiting - no yarn and no further response from chasing up customer services at Rowan. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing.

Dreadful Customer Service

Have used Rowan yarm for many years but this was the first time I ordered directly from them. I will never do that again.

Customer services is probably the worst I have ever experienced.

My order didn't arrive and despite the fact what I'd bought was still in stock I was told they were,"loath" to reisue as it wouldn't arrive in time for Christmas!!

It was suggested that I might find something in the Boxing day sale. What a joke

Appalling customer service

As with previous comments, customer service is non existent. Had an issue as the project I purchased did not mention that you needed to purchase additional materials anywhere in the description. Tried to cancel order as not yet dispatched, contact was ignored and no other way to get in touch with them. Returning all items at my own cost! Also order a second project, promised Christmas delivery, still not dispatched. I’ve purchased from them before but never again. Avoid at all costs

Rowan gas the highest quality yarns. Customer service is fantastic, there high fashion. Responsive to us as customers, the color range and variety unparalleled in the industry. I have been a knitter for over 59 years. Hands down there the best!

I bought a total of 20 balls of yarn to…

I bought a total of 20 balls of yarn to complete a very special commission as a graduation gift. The quality of one particular lot was awful, not spun/processed consistently, with long lengths of thin, untwisted yarn and many, many lumps. If anything can be worse than the yarn quality, it is the customer service. I am yet to determine if they are unable or unwilling to answer questions. They then stop answering emails. I am now waiting for a complaint from my customer reporting that the jumper is faulty.

Rowan Pure Cashmere is pure rope

Rowan yarn should stop making Pure Cashmere yarn because they are nothing like Cashmere. They are coarse, dry, broken easily from knitting to after steam blocking. It is worse than their alpaca soft DK yarn but costs a fortune £34 per skein of 50gr. I have loved Rowan yarn after spending few thousand dollars on their yarn but after the last purchase of 26 skeins of such terrible quality insanely expensive mediocre yarn I’d never support Rowan products anymore. Knitters please be aware. I bought in 4 colors and they are all same quality: Terrible. The worst thing is: I contacted Rowan and they said they tested the exact batch lot I have but found nothing wrong with the yarn. Speechless. Cashmere usually is so fine and soft but this Rowan yarn is so rough and dry. Big loss on me.

Non-existent customer service

I love Rowan yarns but recently bought direct from their website. All was good with the delivery but when I got to the final part of the knitting I realised the last ball I had was a different dye lot to the rest so I have a paler stripe at the top of one sleeve. The only means of contact is their website (they don't seem to do social media, I wonder why...) and that just generates an automated reply, no actual response to my query. This wool cost me over £100 and I have an unwearable jumper, do not buy direct!

Terrible service

My wife has used Rowan yarns for many years. Recently she ordered direct from Rowan 25 balls of wool to knit one item. The delivery was a shambles, the wool was wrong and trying to get it corrected by customer services was impossible. At 15.10 today my wife was informed that the wool which should rectify the problem had been dispatched by Rowan “that morning” At 16.57 they informed her that they had managed to stop the wool leaving the warehouse. Amazing as she had been told the courier had already collected it. Rowan is now owned by Lion Capital. I will be checking what other business Lion Capital own and will avoid dealing with them in the future. There’s one bit of good news for me. Lion own Jimmy Choo so my wife wont be buying those

Very unpleasant online ordering…

Very unpleasant online ordering experience. Ridiculous delays in posting and unskilled customer service who aren’t interested in genuinely wanting to sort out problems. All I wanted to do was send a gift subscription to my friend in France. My online account had no reference to my subscription three weeks after placing my order. When I chased it up, I was brushed off with ‘sorry it hasn’t been delivered, will send another’. Well, that’s all very well, but where’s the order on my online account? I don’t know of any companies, nowadays, that don’t advise when the order has been despatched, and many have tracking too. I’ve been given a refund, which is something, hopefully they will get that right.

Splendid Company; Wonderful Products

Wonderful products - especially the Summerlite 4-ply Egyptian cotton yarn which makes superlative crocheted garments. Prompt dispatch of orders and my yarn arrived beautifully & carefully nestled in high-quality tissue paper. I will no longer use anything other than Rowan yarns for my crochet - they are a delight to work with. I highly recommend this splendid company and its wonderful products.

They don’t respond - non existent customer service

They don’t respond - customer service is non existent. I bought a pattern by digital download. Payment has been taken from my bank account. No pattern has been sent. And it’s impossible to get them to respond. You email them and they acknowledge your message then do nothing.
Knitting patterns by digital download are immediate. In this case I’ve paid but have no access to the pattern. It’s theft.
