Thorough Learning Experience, Bad "Guaranteed Work" Experience
The course was great, except for one thing: it didn't teach anything about freelancing. I regret not signing up for the competition's offer instead of falling for the guarantee. The "job" involves slaving away trying to figure out badly translated Chinese and AI-written texts. It takes several times longer to complete this kind of work than the company claims, so this is an absolute waste of time if you really need a job. Now I have to take a course on freelancing to get actual work.

Our Becoming A Proofreader course aims to give you the tools you need to work as a freelance proofreader. Obviously, the main focus is on the technical skills required to do the job, but we also provide a good amount of information on different client types and negotiating briefs (in Module 2) and how to find work and set rates (in Module 13).
We work hard to ensure that the training our course provides sets learners up so they are ready to work as professional proofreaders. As you know, the final assignment covers numerous aspects of proofreading, and this is to make sure that graduates have the skills necessary to work at Proofed or beyond. It may interest you to know that 56% of learners receive a distinction mark and are therefore eligible to work at Proofed, so we do not take this transition lightly (and you deserve to be very proud of your achievement).
Our work guarantee offer with Proofed has given thousands of learners the opportunity to immediately enter the industry, access multiple avenues and styles of work, and gain experience as proofreaders. I’ve been studying with them since…
I’ve been studying with them since March and ever since I submitted my final assignment have heard nothing back from them despite numerous emails…. Very disappointing /Update/ My final papers were found and contact was made after I left this review. A variety of excuses and explanations were provided. I may have been unlucky in the timing (system change) however the assignment feedback and marks were provided back to me in the body of an email rather than on the final version of my work. Proofreading is done directly in or on a document so why wouldn’t assignment corrections be done the same way? There are also problems with their internal communications as I was asked to resubmit only to find out someone else already had my work. The course content is excellent however the delivery method needs a little more work.

Amazing Experience

New Career as a Proofreader
I wanted to start a new career, something remote. I had a lot of proofreading experience in previous jobs, and loved it. But I knew I needed to formalize my skills. That is exactly what I was able to do with the Becoming a Proofreader Course from Knowadays. I

I really enjoyed this course and felt I learned a lot. I especially found the sections on Word very easy to follow. The tutors were easily accessible and answered all my questions. I would have liked some practice exercises, but that's me, and many on the internet can be searched out. I would highly recommend this course for anyone starting out in proofreading. After losing my previous job, I happened across a blog post about how one could become a professional proofreader and several places to gain a certification.
