Zero Communication Skills

Receptionist in foul mood, waiting room
Packed and no chairs. 10 people standing. I asked for them to bring out more chairs and they said they Verena the legal loot for chairs in that space. So, they were 10 people over the legal limit. Poor, poor, poor communication skills. Once they called me everything went smoothly - but getting to that point was absolute hell. God knows what I caught in that sardine can of a waiting room.

Both check-in kiosks were not working…

Both check-in kiosks were not working so I checked in manually with a receptionist dressed in street clothes at 7:15 a.m. Four customers were ahead of me. I waited over an hour to be called. In that time only three other people were called in but people kept arriving. A woman dressed in a white medical gown who I thought was the phlebotomist came out and started working as the receptionist and the receptionist who checked me in went back and started drawing people’s blood. By the time I was called the number of people in the waiting room jumped from 4 to15. Many were complaining. Never had this happen at this location before. Second bad experience at a labcorp location.

You can't make an appointment on the app or website

You cannot use their app to make an appointment something's changed and there's no phone number to call them for technical help or any kind of help for that matter. I've been trying for 2 days to make an appointment and it won't allow me to which is very unusual

I’m a provider- trying to take care of people

I’m a provider. Lab corp believes they can charge, bill play games with patient lives and labs and providers. They were supposed to bill patients, collect from patients and they turn to providers to get reimbursement for patient visits. Then a billing lady named Regina says my account owes money and tells me how my account was set up 21 years ago. Not how much money, or patients I owe money on, or really anything. They made changes in 1997. Well Regina, not everyone was on board then and my account was set up to bill patients directly to and their insurance. That’s fine. I don’t have to use lab corp. there are legitimate companies out there that will draw labs, do the right thing and not bully providers because they forgot to collect from the patient. States they have sent my account to their attorney. I changed my address and phone number multiple times as my office moved but they still have an old phone number and address. Regina wasted 45 minutes of my time telling me to settle and pay (not an amount of anything) for labs that my patients owe money for. It’s crockery. It’s poor service, it’s a game the lab is playing that doesn’t make sense and I don’t have time to argue and try to find out what they think I owe when I don’t owe it.

Something Like a Bait and Switch?

Registered online and provided insurance information and much else. Arrived at the facility, a drab, low rent hole.

Signed in electronically and sat down and waited. Receptionist then told me my insurance would not cover. I was surprised as this was not explained when signing up online nor signing in at the facility.

At best, a total waste of my time. At worst, a company intentionally withholding important information. You go in, only to be told the cost is on you. You might just stay as you've already invested time. And maybe that's the point of what appears to something like a bait and switch.

Get an estimate before any work is done

I did not work directly with Labcorp besides dealing with their billing department but I had tests sent out to them from a clinic I was wanting to get test done through. If you are getting lab work done by any doctor or clinic be sure to request a good faith estimate before getting any work done. I received a rather large surprise bill fully expecting a very different price based on my discussion with the clinic staff I was working with. Once Labcorp renders a service even though they have not told you the cost it is an uphill battle trying to negotiate with them even with insurance. Get an estimate in writing before services are rendered so you know what to expect and have a way to dispute charges if need be. My overall experience with them was poor due to the nature of how billing is with companies like Labcorp. If I could have saw the costs before requesting lab work I would have had a much better experience with Labcorp.

Not a pleasant experience

I went to the Labcorp on Sunset Rd in Burlington NJ. The technicians (from the front desk to the lab tech) were not quite rude but were very brusque in their tone, gave no eye contact at all and moved thru the process with no interaction outside of giving direction. I go to this office because it's close but if there were another convenient location I would not choose this one. It was not a pleasant experience AT ALL.

I went to get blood work done this…

I went to get blood work done this morning. Entire staff was extremely pleasant and friendly. It was a fast and pleasant experience. Doretha was the one who took my blood and was very professional, quick and gentle. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Just wanted to compliment the staff that was there this morning. Great job ladies and thanks for the outstanding service I received.

Terrible customer service over the phone

Four phone calls to get one question answered. I was given misinformation multiple times and forwarded to the wrong number. The number that the agent mistakenly forwarded me to was the no surprises billing Government agency. The agent there told me that the LabCorp agent had forwarded me to that number in error. What a waste of time. Now I'm going to a physical office to see if I can get my question answered. The first agent I spoke with on the phone today seemed thoroughly irritated. She initially asked me to slow down when spelling my name and then was irritated that I wasn't reading the billing code fast enough to her. I worked in customer service for a long time and this is not how you handle people.

Difficult to pay the bill

We regularly get $4 bills from labcorp, and every time it is like pulling teeth to get them to take a payment. Today we tried to pay $100 ahead but they wouldn't cooperate. They supposedly have a place to leave a review on their own site, but it's not accessible (go figure).

Must pay in advance even with valid health insurance

United Health only permits me to have my blood drawn at either Quest or Labcorp and it must be drawn day of physical, before my physical, or it will not be covered. Couldn't get an appt with Quest until after physical so went to Lapcorp. Both Quest and Labcorp require you to leave a credit card or debit card to have your blood drawn. I had no choice but to do so if I did not want to be responsible for a $1500 lab bill. I told them not to charge my card as this was being left under duress. They charged it! I called to inform them I was contesting the charge and making a complaint with the Attorney General's Consumer Affairs Division against both Labcorp and United Health for this practice. The customer service rep hung up on me. And if you can't leave financial information, don't bother to go. You will be told to leave without testing being performed. And this was with valid insurance. This is strictly a for profit business, not a health care company. And shame on United Health for permitting this. They already got an earful, as well as a complaint lodged with the AG's office on this practice.

AVOID LABCORP AT ALL COSTS

My doctor ordered 8 lab tests (8 procedure codes) with 4 different diagnosis codes - Labcorp billed all 8 tests with pointer to only one procedure code which meant 7 of the tests were denied by my insurance and only 1 was paid (the one that matched up with the diagnosis code).
How the billing process is supposed to work: the doctor orders lab tests using procedure codes of the actual lab tests being performed and diagnosis codes that point to the reason for the procedure. When the lab bills insurance they have to "point" each procedure code to the corresponding diagnosis code.
Hours and hours on the phone over 4 months back and forth with insurance, Labcorp, doctors office - at least 10 phone calls. Insurance was helpful when I finally got to a supervisor. Labcorp flat out lied on how they bill insurance and the process of pointing diagnosis codes to procedure codes.
Doctor's office confirmed the procedure codes AND diagnosis codes that were sent to Labcorp. Told me to have insurance call Labcorp and talk to them about correcting the submitted claim.
Labcorp can only take the billing they received from the doctor's office when billing insurance so now we're on the phone with the doctor's office hoping they will finally resubmit a corrected claim!
Talk about passing the buck!
FREAKING NIGHTMARE - if you can avoid Labcorp do so!

Labcore is horid

Labcore took over lab services for Providence Health and since they are the lab, everything has gone down hill. Getting lab orders to them are no longer automatic, wait times are horid and there is no such thing as coustomer service. It is so bad we are looking to leave the Providence Health to another provider that doesn't use Labcore. As a side note, it's apparent that they really don't consider the patients' opinions and fail to respond to these reviews.

One star is too much for Lab Corp

One star is too much for Lab Corp. My labs were billed to an old insurance company and when I received the EOB, I called to let them know I was self-pay and had always received a self pay discount. I paid the bill on-line and realized I hadn't gotten the self-pay rate and called only to be told they had no record of my call the week before even though they could see I'd made payment, and now it was too late to get the discount. I asked for a manager TWO TIMES and was denied both. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and received the payment back because Lab Corp did not respond to the credit card company within the given time to respond. I've spent over 90 minutes on the phone with Lab Corp, emailed them several times and asked for a revised bill and to date none of my requests have been honored and now my bill is in their collection department. Run as far in the opposite direction as you can!! If your doctor's office uses them on-site, you can ask to have your lab orders sent to another lab. This is what I've done since and it's working well.

This company is horrible

This company is horrible. Had an appointment for labs. Make an appointment online put in all my information get there wait in my car till they sent me a text to come in. Go inside lobby full of people then the lady at the window say you owe 150 from 2001. Making me lose my place in line arguing with me about the bill forced me to pay 25 or not be seen. What's really the kicker is that they had all my information why wait till I got to the window to tell me I had a bill. I had no idea was put on the spot all these folks listening to my conversation that involved all my personal information. Mad was not the words this company could have called me weeks ago but noooo. Ridiculous. You can't folks on the phone at all

LabCorp is one of the worst businesses…

LabCorp is one of the worst businesses I have ever worked with. They cancel my appointment one day before it is due so I have to walk in To another clinic and wait over an hour to get my blood work done. Either way an hour and a half or cancel my medical appointment which will take over a month to reschedule. They do not care about their patients.

They didn't honor my appointment

They didn't honor my appointment, I arrived on time but the lab staff was letting walk ins before me. I had to wait 45 minutes, and then had to leave without getting tested.

What is the point of making an appointment, if they can't honor it. DISGUSTING and never again Labcorp.
