At the Ladies Working Dog Group (LWDG), we know dog training isn’t always picture-perfect — and that’s exactly why we’re here. We’re a nationwide (and growing international!) community of women who are passionate about gundogs, and even more passionate about supporting each other through the highs, lows, and “what on earth just happened?!” moments of training. Inside LWDG, you’ll find a treasure trove of resources: Masterclasses, brilliant Featured Experts, experienced dog trainers, handy tips and tools, and our beloved live coaching sessions). But here’s the heart of it all: we’re about helping women build confidence in themselves, not just their dogs. We’re here to help you go from feeling unsure to feeling like part of a real team — you and your dog, working together. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been at this a while, you’ll find a community that cheers you on, celebrates the little wins, and reminds you that you’re not doing this alone. Because at LWDG, we believe a confident woman and her dog can achieve just about anything — and have a lot of fun along the way.

The LWDG has given me so much confidence as a handler and owner. They have put the fun back into training and really helped us build a fantastic bond. The fabulous team and awesome members are always there to share their experiences and offer advice. There is so much great content, in many useful formats that can be used out in the field or home. Brilliant value for money and would recommend to any female working dog owner whatever their experience. It is a genuine community.

Very friendly, helpful and full of experienced people with much to offer novices, pet dog owners and those looking to enter the gundog wirld

Joined the group and enjoying hearing lots of views. Just listened to the middle ground podcast, umm… not sure it offered a middle ground. There was no one talking about positive no force training. Also, the trainers don’t say what the adverse methods. Positive trainers do have boundaries, but the trainers imply they didn’t. So for me not a rounded debate. Would like a conversation the has all points of view.

After commenting on an Instagram story I received a voice message in response which I really appreciated given we live in an age of messaging. I then decided to sign up for a training program. While it's aimed at gundog training the basic principles and expectations will certainly apply to my sheepdog pup. The videos are a little on the long side but good to listen to as I'm driving. They provide clear guidance and build up week by week
Really enjoying the group
Excellent response to any questions very supportive.

Excellent group of people. Love watching the Masterclasses as I am a visual learner rather than just trying follow written instructions. All the experts try to help with any issues you have and just listening to the all the features give you new ideas and thoughts on how to improve your training with your dog

I would like to thank the ladies working dog group for presenting the "Hot MessHandler's" course. Although I have had two spaniels before, this is the first time I have considered working a spaniel. I think that the way the course is presented with the workbooks and homework keeps you motivated. I really love the way the pod casts are presented, and also you are made to feel that no question is stupid (especially if you are a novice like I am).
Looking forward to becomming a member in the New Year and participating in more courses. Thank you.

What a fabulous group this is. The experts are truly great, giving up their valuable time to provide really helpful Masterclasses and other informative videos, chats and the like. Their knowledge, skill at imparting it and keenness to be so helpful is second to none. The icing on the cake is the wonderful Jo who brought her fabulous idea of a working dog group for ladies to fruition and who holds it all together so brilliantly. Thank you ladies.

This is a great group to belong to and I am so glad that I found it. It is very active, well-managed and supportive, and has a fantastic array of training events and resources available to members. As a novice handler of my first working dog, I have found being part of a community of like-minded ladies hugely reassuring. It is amazing to know that there is always an expert on hand to answer any questions or to provide advice on any issues I may be having. I am thoroughly enjoying learning with my dog, and keeping up with how others, and their dogs, are getting on too!
