Time wasters, with dishonest practices

Searched the net for fluorescent tubes. Found them on here. Popped an order in for £100 worth. I got an email saying that they couldn’t post them out using the service THEY had at cart. Went back on to reorder to find that they had hiked the price up by over 50% (Now £160 + postage). Emailed back asking to honour the original contractual agreement and send an invoice for new shipping method. No reply. Wasted my time, energy and frustration. Payment still not cancelled but instead says ‘pending’. I will change this review if anything changes

There seems to be some misunderstanding here. We have not changed the price of the product is it exactly the same price as your original order. I can only assume that when you went to re-order you inadvertently selected a different brand. If you want to try again the item code is QQ17838.

With regards to the shipping charge you selected the shipping method "DPD items under 1M" yet the items you ordered were 1.17m long or over 1.2m when packed. I don't know how to make it any clearer. The correct shipping method for long items is "Fed-EX items over 1m"

With regards to your email I thought it was rhetorical and did not require a response. The answer is we have no way to invoice for shipping on its own. I will check the payment, the money was not charged it was only a swipe just like a hotel checking it checks for funds. Some credit companies show it as a pending transaction and it just drops off some wrongly show the money as having been taken when in fact it is just reserved. I will see if we can do something to expedite the release.

Non-existent communication. Impossible to arrange a return.

Sent two emails (within 9 days of each other) regarding arranging return for a faulty item, nobody ever got back to me. Now I'm stuck with a faulty item and out of pocket.
Avoid at all costs.

Steve we had one email from you in the 30th March and a free of charge replacement has been booked out. It will go out on Tuesday or Wednesday as we are expecting a Calex delivery on Tuesday. I am sorry that the person responsible did not tell you that your problem had been dealt with.

One improvement could make Lamp Specs the perfect bulb supplier.

I recently placed a small order with Lamp Specs (part of CP Lighting). I was attracted to them because they list a huge range of bulbs (and show detailed specifications), including many good quality Philips and Osram bulbs that are often not available from other UK suppliers. What I now realise is that not all the bulbs are in stock but I only discovered this when I checked why my order hadn't been delivered. When I checked, I was given availability dates for the bulbs they didn't have in stock and, several weeks later and within the dates mentioned, the full order was delivered. No charge was made until the order was despatched.
I then found that one of the bulbs was not quite as expected and I arranged to return the bulb for a refund. The refund was paid immediately on return of the bulb.
So, great range, good customer service, and if the website could show stock availability Lamp Specs would be my first choice of supplier.
