This company is a disgrace and should be avoided.

This company is a disgrace and takes no responsibility. I purchased a Serax pawn side table which arrived 2 days before Xmas from Belgium to Sydney. The client lives 1 1/2 hours away, so the side table could not be delivered till a week later due to Xmas holidays.
The client received the stoneware table and within 48hrs sent a photo of ring marks and damage to the table after putting a simple drink on the side table. This left serious ring marks and suggested the product was not suitable as a side table and was not sealed. The response of Lamp Twist was that they would take no responsibility as all issues had to be notified within 72 hrs. This did not account for international delivery and Xmas closures. They suggested I take photos of the packaging, which had nothing to do with the issue at hand or the complaint and failed to respond any further. I would suggest no one ever use this company.

The client confirmed the stain resulted from a glass containing alcohol, which is not a product defect but improper use.

The table was delivered intact, within the timeframe announced before purchase.

Had the product arrived stained or damaged, we would of course have refunded it. We remain committed to supporting our customers while being transparent about product care and responsibility.

On December 26, we contacted you on behalf of DHL because the customs fees had not been paid. As we received no reply, we followed up again on December 29 to inform you that without a response or payment, the shipment would be returned to us.

Unfortunately, we did not hear back, and the order was therefore returned due to unpaid customs charges. Throughout the process, we actively assisted and kept you informed.

Are you fooling your customers??

It was not clear that customs payment was not included in the price. None of your international competitors that I have used use this practice. As a customer I feel that you have fooled me, and I will never ever use you again.

As you’re likely aware, under Norwegian customs law, VAT and import duties are payable at the border when purchasing from abroad.

To avoid any surprise, we clearly highlight this information on the product page, during checkout, in our T&Cs, Q&A section, and on our shipping information page. We aim to be fully transparent and would never intend to mislead our customers.

While I should have known better

While I should have known better, LampTwist should do it's best to reiterate it's return policy as it applies to US customers. The customer has to pay the incoming duty and if you have a return the customer has to pay the outgoing duty plus shipping, so, it's not really zero consequence because by the time you pay for the duty and shipping you might as well keep the item. I won't order from this company again; 30 day return policy isn't free.

As you are in the USA, the same rules apply: the customer is responsible for paying any incoming duties, and for returns, the outgoing shipping and duties are also the customer’s responsibility. We make every effort to highlight this to avoid surprises, but we also rely on customers being aware of any recent changes in their country’s customs regulations.

We understand that this can feel inconvenient, and we always aim to be as transparent as possible about these costs upfront.

LampTwist has a great and wide range of products and always offers fantastic discounts. The “Les Femmes” vase from Serax is beautiful and I really love it. The payment process went smoothly and shipping was very fast. The product is wonderful, as is the quality that Serax offers. I am completely satisfied and will shop at LampTwist again.

Left high and dry with damaged product

- Lodged damaged product feedback- 10 Dec
- Received response that the company will check with supplier - 12 Dec
- no response till 18 Dec when the company states that without supplier reverting, they are “unable to offer you compensation because the item is no longer in stock”. Meanwhile, the item continues to be offered on we site for next day delivery! BEWARE
- asked for refund - e mails sent 19 Dec, 23 Dec, 26 Dec with total radio silence.
- meanwhile, tried to power up the lamp which does not work totally!
- TOTAL DAMAGE: est EU $1,300

Seamless Int’l Purchase Experience

Bought a floor lamp that needed a lead time of a few weeks sometime close to mid November. Pleasantly surprised that the order was fulfilled a good 3 weeks ahead of the estimated delivery date.

Shipped international to Singapore via DHL Express. It arrived well packed with an outer protective box and protective packaging.

Seamless experience.

Updates via email were succinct. Will buy again!

Super fast delivery

Super fast delivery, perfectly wrapped. Trackingnumber received and easy communication. Everything went very smooth. It was for an exhibition and therefore the timeframe was important. LampTwist made us very happy.

Hidden shipping charges

I was surprised at checkout to have $100 delivery fee but really frustrated when the DHL delivery also required a tariff fee of an additional $100.
I would not have purchased the lamp if I had realized the total cost was an additional $200.
This additional delivery fee was not advertised in any way prior to the day of delivery.

An item ordered was not delivered and…

An item ordered was not delivered and there is no customer support to advise why not . A BOT Chat said that it would refer the concern with a human . They are impossible to contact .

I saw the product online

I saw the product online, ordered it, it arrived within the week, the colour was exactly as seen on the website and it arrived in perfect condition. My only complaint is that the website should mention that there is import duty into the country.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU…

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU LIVE IN THE UK. They state they pay import duties, but I was charged £10.31. Unfortunately I needed to return the lamp, which someone else did for me, but forgot the duties paid. The item was returned to me three months later, despite my emailing the company for help. It transpires that duties would be approximately £90 on an item that cost approximately £350. Looking at the LampTwist invoice I had already paid tax in Belgium, so in effect being double charged, which is not mentioned on their website. When I emailed them regarding this I was advised to find a cheaper shipping company!! The duties are the same irrespective of which company is used!!!

We understand your frustration and would like to clarify how this works under UK customs rules. When you purchase from us, you pay VAT on the sale at checkout. If you return the item, it is shipped DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), so all duties and taxes are included in the return shipment. Once we issue your refund, you can then claim back the duties paid on the initial purchase from the relevant authorities. Unfortunately, this is part of the standard UK customs process, and there is nothing we can do to change it. We’re genuinely sorry that this has led to a negative experience and review, as we always aim to make our process as transparent as possible.
