A Lancaster is an iconic plane But they are plain thieves!!!!!!!!!

Bought a 1976 classic car on 31/03/26 and stupidly took out insurance with this bunch of clowns. The next day I received an email asking for proof I had a garage (with pics of the car in it.) I was still waiting for delivery of the car at this point. They couldn't see it on Google.(Which are usually a year out of date). (I had a garage erected 3 months ago). They then said they needed proof of ncd. I phoned them and told them to cancel the policy as, if they don't trust their clients. Then as far as I'm concerned .They are Not trustworthy. The lady then accused me of being Rude. I said ,I am not being Rude, but Assertive ,as I repeatedly asked to cancel the policy, under the 30 day cooling off period. She eventually agreed to cancel and to my astonishment. They were deducting more than half the total I paid."for fees". This is now 13/04/26. I have still had no notification of the cancellation and more importantly the pittance of a refund.( They have taken 6 months premium, for 24 hours cover)
I would advise anyone to avoid these robbing cowboys. And go to a reputable company. Which I have now done. I would urge anyone thinking of taking a policy with them. To think again as they make it difficult to take a policy, imagine having to make a claim. (As I'm still waiting for my refund, almost two weeks after cancelling.)I don't blame people for driving with no insurance. With Vultures like them about !!!! Pure Crooks !!

Painful car renewal process

Every year, i try to renew my classic car insurance with them, however they make it VERY difficult.
The problem: I like to get quote 28 days before the renewal date, and as a result their on-line system can not cope and just report a generic error.
So, I then have to call them....What a faff!!, long, sorry LONG!!! messages between each (slow) step, with loads of attempted speech recognition, which always has to be long-windly repeated and then echoed back to you like you are a child, and finally aborts as it gets it wrong. So you get passed to the 'live' person line, on hold, this can be a VERY long wait. Once you do get through, yes, you have to repeat every detail again. What a wonderful way to treat customers. The aim is of coarse to dissuade customers from calling, making the whole experience so painfully that you wait until a very noncompetitive quote comes in and take the easy way out.

Nightmare customer service.

Yet again extremely disappointed with this sham company. I was told by the sales person that no claims bonus had not been a factor in the calculation. However, a month after insuring was sent a a letter threatening cancellation if I didn't produce the no claims document - a document that they already have because I have insured with them for years!!!! Almost impossible to get in touch with by phone having to navigate multiple levels of answering phone messages and options and wait for hours.

In my 53 years of having car insurance…

In my 53 years of having car insurance Lancaster insurance must rank has one of the worst ever. One of the reasons I say this is because it's absolutely impossible to get through on the phone, I have exhausted my efforts trying to get through on at least 7occasions having waited 26 minutes on the last call to no avail. The reason I was trying to contact them was to cancel my insurance as my car failed it's MOT and I took it off the road, but Lancaster insurance wanted to charge me the full premium AND £50 cancellation fee, outrageous.
My advice is avoid this company at all costs.
