No admittance of serious shortcomings and no compensation
Further to my review of 20th October "Total Disaster - Don't Buy" concerning a Lennovo ThinkPad pc that I bought in March 2024 via Refurbed.dk (/com) website with actual supplier turning out to be Laptop-markt.de. Price EUR 910
- the pc came with only half the 1024 GB of the one I chose on Refurbed's website (that was compensated with a small refund of EUR 70)
- the pc, which I used only for surfing an storage of docs. and pics. - no gaming etc., developed a problem already in August 2025, shutting down with no warning and "died" in October. Impossible to start it up again.
- a skilled technician that I hired found out that the pc was from 2013. The power supply, if that had been the problem, was obsolete and not replacable, but the problem was the motherboard, which was probably 12 years old at the time of sale. A pc - with high GB and Ram - but still absolutely at the end of its life - sold for a price that was not far from the price for a new one. (I have now bough one with the same numbers from the technicians company, where he builds them himself, all new and replacable parts, including a spare part kit, for EUR 600 (somewhat cheaper than with big chains like Power and Elgiganten)
- Refurbed.dk - responded to a similar review, also on 20th October. And although they are not the actual supplier, they assume some kind of responsibility and offerede me an ex gratia compensation of EUR 100, which I have received. They also promised to engage their partner Laptopmarkt, from whom I had requested an ex gratia compensation of EUR 200, which would hardly mean a loss to them, considering the price they must have paid themselves for this old pc, which turned out also to be a server, which is primarily meant to stand in protected office enviroments with air-con and ventilation.
- Laptopmarkt have only repeatedly said that "the warranty has expired" - which is true and which I already said myself at the begining, but with an expensive pc breaking down a half year thereafter and just 1,5 years af purchase comes close to fraud.
- No show of goodwill so that is why I now underscore the TOTAL DISASTER experience.

We would like to emphasise that we carefully check all devices before shipping and that the technical equipment always corresponds exactly to the configuration specified in the product description. However, should there ever be a discrepancy – as in your case with the second hard drive – this will of course be corrected or refunded, as was done at the time.
It is naturally frustrating that your computer has developed a fault on the motherboard after more than a year of use. Unfortunately, this is outside the warranty period, which means that a free repair or refund is no longer possible. However, we understand your frustration and take your feedback very seriously.
All our refurbished devices are thoroughly tested, cleaned and technically checked before sale. Only components that are defective or no longer function reliably are replaced. Functioning parts are not replaced across the board – this is in line with current standards in the refurbished sector and contributes significantly to sustainability.
