I needed a new laptop so I bought a refurbished Lenovo laptop from these guys and overall very pleased. It runs extremely fast and a lot better than Windows. Shipping isn't as fast as Amazon but it did get here fairly quickly. Would recommend Laptop Mountain to anybody!

Delayed shipping but happy now.

To be honest, I was kind of annoyed by the shipping delay with my order.

The vendor did explain that they were waiting for some parts to be delivered.

Once my shipment came, I was happy with my experience.

An improving business.

I placed an order for a Thinkpad T420 laptop on January 7th, and their website states they ship laptops 3-5 days after the order is submitted. I did not receive a shipping notification after 5 days, so I sent them a polite email asking for an order status update. They apologized and told me they would ship the laptop "this week." That week passed with no shipping update. I sent them an email asking if the laptop was still available, and they apologized again and told me they would ship the laptop "early next week." I finally received a shipping notice on Tuesday, January 20, which is 13 days after I placed the order. However, FedEx was not in possession of the package until January 28. I finally received the laptop on February 1. Apparently, the shipping delay was due to the RAM shortage. Here are the issues I found with the laptop: The laptop came with a poorly-made, 3D-printed hard drive cover which does not fit correctly. The laptop also lacked a hard drive caddy, and instead the SSD was held in with a crumpled up piece of cardboard, which caused the laptop to fail to boot several times. The bezel around the screen is also cracked, and the palm rest has a large crack where my right hand rests. Finally, I ordered a T420 with a 1600 x 900 resolution screen, but I received a model with the low-resolution 1366 x 768 screen. I understand that this is an old laptop, and I expected to replace some parts myself. I wrote to the company about the screen resolution and a partial refund, and they offered $20.00 back or a complete return and refund. They recently wrote to me about steps they are taking to reduce shipping and handling time (including finding a more reliable RAM supplier). They've also updated the product description of the T420 to reflect the 1366 x 768 resolution, and they informed me that they will be using a better 3D printer going forward. Ultimately, it seems like Laptop Mountain is trying to do right by their customers, so I'm still happy to give them a four-star review. I would rather support a small company than something like Amazon.

Very cool company.

I ordered a Lenovo T460. There were a few issues on their end when going over the device. I was eventually upgraded to a T480 (a much better laptop!) while only being charged for the T460. Customer service was very responsive throughout this process and I would like to thank and offer them my appreciation here. :)

I appreciate the effort to get this done right!

Like other reviewers, I had communication issues for various reasons, but in the end I received a dandy computer that is EXACTLY what I wanted with Linux Mint installed and running perfectly. I appreciate the lengths they went to to get what I wanted working well.

Not a scam!

Ordered a refurbished laptop running linux. My payment went through but I never got any updates on anything, one email saying it's being shipped but UPS says otherwise and that they never received a package, I've tried getting in contact with them but they don't respond to emails or reply if you reach out on there website. UPDATE: after leaving a review they reached out to me and offered a full refund or an upgrade to a better laptop than the one they offered and have it shipped immediately. Apparently they ran out of parts to repair the first laptop i ordered so thats why it never got sent. I appreciate the effort to try and make things right but more clarity would have saved me a lot of stress.

Excellent Resolution After Initial Delays

I initially had a challenging experience with Laptop Mountain regarding a refurbished laptop I ordered on October 26, 2024. Delays and inconsistent communication left me feeling frustrated However, after voicing my concerns, the company reached out promptly to address the situation.
Their customer service team apologized sincerely for the delays and provided a detailed explanation of the issues they were facing. They worked diligently to expedite my order and offered compensation for the inconvenience, which I greatly appreciated. I finally received my laptop in excellent condition, and it performs exactly as described on their website.

Laptop Mountain ultimately demonstrated their commitment to resolving customer issues and ensuring satisfaction. I am pleased with the outcome and feel confident that they have learned from this situation to improve their operations. Thank you, Laptop Mountain, for making things right.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE. You've been warned.

1) I decided to buy an old laptop with Linux preinstalled (I usually do it myself), and came upon a site called Laptop Mountain. They would seem to offer older refurbished laptops (circa 2011) running Linux Mint / Cinnamon. The site seemed sketchy, but since there was an option to buy with Shopify I pulled the trigger.

2) I got an immediate response from Shopify that the order was placed and waiting to be shipped, as well as an immediate auto-generated email from laptopmountain(at)gmail.com saying they received my order.

3) Two days later, when there was no activity, I sent the following message (and got no response):

"Hey there... Checking on the shipping status of my order: HP ProBook 6570B 15.6" (2.6GHz i5, 8GB, 256GB SSD) Linux × "

4) This led me to search for reviews which suggested there is a high probability that this is a scam website, or at the very least a shady operation. I contacted CHASE Bank, and the Fraud Dept initiated a claim. To be thorough, I sent a second email to laptopmountain.com:

"Second request for info on a laptop purchase made via website. Bank contacted."

5) Not sure if it was the mention of the bank or if Chase began contacting them on the back-end, but suddenly I got a response:

"Your first message was sent only 5 hours ago. This order was placed just 2-days ago. Did you not review the delivery information on the website before placing your order?"

Note: there was no name, no number, no email signature, and the tone is obviously inappropriate. Red flag.

6) I responded:

"I did read it, however when there was no activity in SHOPIFY -- which is not usually my experience -- I thought to give a call. When the number listed on the website was a nonworking number I thought it was unprofessional and became concerned that your website is a scam site.

If your business is legitimate, and if in fact you have a functioning HP ProBook 6570B 15.6" (2.6GHz i5, 8GB, 256GB SSD) running Linux Mint which you plan to ship to my address, then please give me an estimated idea of when it will arrive and we can move forward.

Thank you"

7) I then received an immediate refund with the following message:

"Honestly I don't like your attitude and don't want to deal with you as a customer. Your order is being refunded."

8) And I ended our transaction with this:

"I'm okay with that. Appreciate the timely refund.

Since quality is obviously important to you, be advised that this came up after a quick Google search for 'Laptop Mountain + reviews', which -- together with the nonworking contact number -- undermined my confidence in the legitimacy of your operation: https://www(dot)scamadviser(dot)com/check-website/laptopmountain(dot)com

Take care."

9) After these exchanges, I decided to try to dig for more reviews, and I ended up here. I really hate leaving bad reviews, but as a business owner myself with an A+ accreditation from the BBB, I feel obliged to warn anyone who might think about spending money here.... DO NOT. Period.

This is NOT a fraud company

(My review when a ordered a refurbished linux laprop around 2021 when covid was in peak stage. Please read the review in full.)

Year 2021 : This is a fraud company. Never buy from them. I put an order for laptop . After paying through my credit card, I received no reply for payment. Their phone number is disconnected . Their email info at laptopmountain bounces if email is sent. It's a complete fraud company.
....

Fast forward Year 2024 : After several months of the payment , I didn't receive any communicarion from them and posted the above feedback to warn others. I went ahead and bought another laptop from a different vendor. Several months after that I received a laptop from laptop mountain for which I had given up hope completely assuming it was total fraud. I was thankful and pleasantly surprised when I receiced the laptop from them after going through so much worries. I didn't receive the correct power supply cable for that linux laptop. I managed to get a cable on my own and didn't insist on this company to send me again. Given that during that covid period many small businesses were affected and their employees too went through very difficult time. So I am assuming this business also went through such scenario for which they could not respond in any way at all. I am ready to forgive and move on given that their linux laptop is working fine and more reliable than the other windows laptop I bought. So I decided to add the review correction with more clear picture. So good luck laptopmountain.com . Thanks for coming back. Improve customer service a bit and you will get 5 star.
