Terrible company do not by from them

Terrible company do not by from them. Sold me a MacBook that was not properly refurbished and they had to give me a credit note. Then refused a repair under warranty where they say my laptop was dropped and it wasn’t they told me that I had to prove I hadn’t dropped it and pay out for a professional report when they refused to view the item and made their decision on 2 photos. Sent more photos showing no damage/ evidence of dropping on the casing and advised them that iSmash confirmed there was no evidence of dropping and retina displays notorious for issues. Refuse to give an address for me to take
further action and now repeating their allegation that I have dropped it and stating that as it’s 6months old I have to prove I haven’t dropped it. Don’t believe their promise of 12 month warranty on refurbished items they are total scammers.

Shamful company

STAY AWAY!!!STAY AWAY!!!STAY AWAY!!!
All of them should have been put in jail, from the CEO to the last ass-kisser employee, for scamming people for years and years.
For :
-Falsely advertising items they don't even have on stock
-Doubling prices from one month to another
-Selling Laptops that don't even work
-Often not delivering the purchased items for months
-Changing delivery dates just before the date you ought to fulfill them
-Making excuses such as COVID and late shipment from their suppliers
-Paying people/ writing scripts to give the company 5-star reviews on review websites
(All of the 5-star reviews are written by bots, they aren't written by genuine real human customers)
-They encouraging the customers to get in touch through "PREMIUM" numbers, often charging them 100+ Euro for a single call.
STAY AWAY!!!STAY AWAY!!!STAY AWAY!!!

Complete sham

Ordered a £170 headset and it arrived the next day - the item delivered is one that's been previously returned by another customer. It's been haphazardly bundled into a box, everything is covered in dust and dents/scratches, and they haven't even bothered to remove the RMA sticker. There was no indication on the store page that this was a used product, let alone that it would in fact be one that was previously returned for being faulty. Absolute atrocious, will be expecting a full refund and never ordering from there again.

Totally agree with other reviews here

Totally agree with other reviews here. Had I seen this I would not have bought from laptops direct.

Pretty rubbish customer service. No response at all.
I hope people read this so that they can make an informed judgement whether they should buy from them or not.

As on writing this, I am still waiting for returns on a faulty item received.

Quick to take your money, then very good to excellent at keeping - at my loss!.

Good bye Laptopsdirect, won't be buying anything from you again.

Irresponsible seller

Said that they have the stock,
told me the stock will be dispatch directly from the supplier and
its gonna take longer to arrive.

3 days after purchasing I emailed them and they said they confirmed the stock availability and item has been dispatched.

2 weeks later, I contacted them only to found out stock was never there at all.

The worst part is that, you have to be the one to take the initiative to ask where is your product and their courier services doesn't have a tracking system either.

Delivery that didn't turn up

My main problem is the fact that the company are not putting themselves in my shoes, in order to pursue the couriers for an explanation as to why they didn't turn up on the first day the delivery was arranged.
The supposed tracking doesn't give you a clue on the day and the whole day has to be spent waiting for them. As if that wasn't bad enough, I had to take another day off as they didn't turn up the first time.

Why I have rejected the 'superb deal of the week'

After reading an excellent review of the screen quality of Medion products I decided to do a price comparison with the more generally available laptops from my usual major retailer.

The Laptops Direct deal of the week for a Medion Erazer P7651 at £597 was a little over my budget but seemed outstanding value.

On the basis that Laptops Direct have not responded to any of the many one star "bad" reviews of their service on TrustPilot I have decided to give priority to a purchase from a business that has a five star "excellent"!

Thanks to all who have taken the trouble to write about their difficulties and helped me avoid potential difficulties

Failure to deliver

I ordered some monitors for a good price. I purchased next day delivery. I changed the delivery address with them two minutes after making the order and was told that was fine. They have now attempted delivery to the wrong address 3 times and I have missed the installation date with our technician. I have now spent over 2 hours on hold or discussing my order with them and have to wait for a call back as the people on the end of the phone can't access the information they need.

Purchased a i7 8700k processor one evening at £325 with multiple in stock. Next day receive an email saying that the order has been cancelled following unforseen circumstances and that I'll have to reorder. Funny enough price has gone up £100! Backhanded sneaky company BEWARE.

Absolutely ridiculous company

Absolutely ridiculous company, and I was pretty convinced that these people were simply thieves. I used their trade in service, sent them my laptop, accepted their cash offer and received no money. I called them about five times asking where the money was and they kept insisting they'd sent it, but nothing in my bank account for over a month. I asked them to check my payment details which I suspected I had entered incorrectly, and they refused, saying that wasn't the issue. They told me to go to my bank, which correctly said they didn't know anything - the company made the transaction, and they should be able to trace it. After a month of calling, being promised return calls and never getting them, I finally convinced them to check my payment details - which of course were incorrect, as I knew from the beginning they must be. I corrected them, but then still received no money. I was extremely hacked off by this point and had to yell down the phone for them to give me the money they owed me or I'd open up a lawsuit, before finally being told that it had never been sent due to an "internal error." They'd just spent the last few months insisting to me that they'd 100% sent it.

Two months down the line and I finally get that stupid £100. It simply became a matter of principle in the end, and it should not have taken me all that stress to deal with something that could have been rectified so easily. In conclusion, use ANY other trade in service - do not use this company for anything.

Great website BUT appalling service …

Great website BUT appalling service when things go wrong. Paid for next day delivery of a laptop which was confirmed by email but did not arrive. No notification. Called the next day to cancel order as a result and was met with 'what ever' attitude and was told confirmation of order cancellation would arrive in inbox now and refund early the following week. I have been holding on the telephone to customer service for over 30 minutes now as I need my money back to buy the laptop elsewhere.

Beware!.......

Beware!........ I have just purchased a laptop from this company a week ago, It said it had Windows 10 installed, it took over 24 hours of updates, which didn't exactly please me. I installed some of my graphic programmes, and conflicts started immediately. I found a folder on the laptop that said restore to Widnows 7??? which is very strange, and no wonder I had the problems I have.

I contacted the company, who wouldn't answer any of my questions, but kept repeating if I wanted to return it, I would have to pay for it, and as I had used it ( hello, had to do the updates ) they would take up to a 25% of the purchase price to "restock" it. I said absolutely not.

I then contacted Which Magazine's Legal Dept, who told me it didn't matter what their T&C's were, they don't override the law, and " it was an offence to restrict the statutory rights of a consumer". Also " under law there is a 14 day cooling off period, and the Consumer Contracts Regulations of 2013 were being broken". I was also informed I could report them to Trading Standards, which I will do on Monday.

They also have Which Computing Magazine, and asked me to keep them informed, as they might be interested in the story for the magazine.

I informed Laptop Directs of ALL of this in an e-mail, and their arrogance absolutely blew me away, I was told they would charge me, and they were entitled to do so, and it was up to me if I wanted to return it under these terms or not !!!!! This was from Gemma at buyitdirect..co.uk ( they must be affiliated).

I now have to phone Which Legal again on Monday and see what they suggest, but I assume it will be take them to court, which I will have no problem doing, I don't give in!......................I will leave it up to you to decide it you want to purchase from this company, but I wouldn't suggest it.

Don't use

Don't use this company. Take your money quickly enough but that is where their efficiency stops. Purchased mobile phones that don't work properly and even though just outside 30 day returns period they will or refund or exchange. They have told me to send back for repair but looking at all the other reviews this would appear to be unlikely to happen. Disgusted, would never use them again and will actively discourage others from using also. They have now stopped replying to my emails.
