Poor, poor, poor.

The free templates are terrible. You basically write the content yourself. They cannot be edited. You cannot click any of the links for 'cancel' 'email' or 'chat' and guess what - you cannot get through on the phone. If you're reading this Law Depot. I am not renewing my subscription with you - but am unable to convey this to you in any other medium than this. Kevin Bonner.

If I could give it 0 stars

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. The customer service representatives are rude, when you ask to speak to a supervisor, they lie and say there are none. One of them hung up the phone in my face. Honestly, you should avoid this company at all cost.

Sneaky - 'free membership expires with NO NOTIFICATION!' business model!

Classic - free membership expires with NO NOTIFICATION! £29 per month adds up over 10 months!! They did pay me 3 months back but I'm still £203 out of pocket.

It seems that this is their business model. Quietly slip into the paid account until you notice. AVOID and use an alternative company - there's loads to choose from.

Their business model is based on…

Their business model is based on representing themselves as a free service, and you only realise that they are billing fees once you are 20 minutes in. Why not just be more honest? Feels like very sharp practice to me!

Paid in error then refunded in full

Paid a subscription in error, called to cancel & had a full credit immediately. Then I decided to take out another subscription so paid again. This was charged @ a yearly amount of £59.98 which will provide all the legal documents I need for 1 year. I completed 3 wills last week, which I found easy to navigate & produce. I now intend to do some Power of Attorneys. This is a reasonable fee for the service provided. I am happy with their service & website.

Total scam and rude customer service

Avoid at any matter.

Cancelled my trial, but despite this got my Paypal account charged for £29.
Contacted customer services for refund - but they claiming they not received any money - totally in rude form and just hung up.

Will report this to bank and police.

Another untruthful company like others…

Another untruthful company like others found, there is NO warning that you must sign up with payment details to obtain the documents (permission to take a child abroad) until you have spent a long time filling in the forms. I have an inherent distrust of any company that requires credit card details to give a 'free' item. No matter, if you know how to examine the HTML code, on the sample page its easy enough to pull the text out anyway.. after all it was 'free' wasn't it?

Takes money even when you cancel

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

They are rude, and take payment EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE CANCELLED THE SUBSCRIPTION.

I have just noticed they have taken almost £87 out of my account, after the subscription was cancelled. They refused to refund for a while, then offered £58 refund. I expressed that I expect a full refund because I cancelled the subscription. They then accused me of not cancelling the subscription and decided they were not going to refund. We cancelled the subscription as they did not provide documents we needed. We even emailed to confirm cancellation.

The lady typing was defiantly not customer service trained, and they clearly do not no the law. Despite what they sell.

I have reported them to the bank, but I would advice anyone not to use them, if they want their money kept safely in their bank.

Scam, steal your money even when you cancel

Scam! Avoid at all cost. You cancel your subscription within prescribed time, get an email stating your invoice is 0 pounds since it was free and the next day they take £29,99 of you! You dispute it but they don't care as that's how they make money. Stealing your money and breaching their own terms!!!

Scam type approach to subscription and data collection

Law Depot claims to offer a free business plan template. When it comes to printing it out they expect you to sign for a week free trial for which you have to enter your credit card details and then subsequently cancel your membership.

This is a poor way to do business as they do not make this clear at the outset. I spent two hours putting in details only to be challenged for my card details to use this "free" service. Their online chatbot /person was non-responsive to a polite request and told me simply to sign up for the free weeks trial and then cancel it. They then cut me off before I had finished talking to them. If they do this at the sign-up end, just how are they going to behave when you need to cancel?

Poor marketing. Ill-advised methods of gaining data and potential fee's. I would have happily kept them in mind for paid work if they hadn't used this scammy and outdated way of treating potential customers.

As it is, I am two hours out of pocket and have no business plan printed out. I will now avoid them at all costs regardless.

I inadvertently forgot to cancel my free trial after the 7 days.
I called their support line and Trish cancelled my subscription and returned the initial payment.
Appreciated this and wanted to make this good feedback.

It should be free if you are careful...

I thought it was pretty clear that you had to cancel within a week to avoid the subscription - although they didn't say that in advance! It was fine for a UK short-hold tenancy agreement. It seems you can go into Admin, Billing and Usage, Edit and switch to a completely free plan which should kick in at your first billing date instead of charging you - we'll see! That gives you three documents free. Adobe Sign is better value if you want a paid plan.

The website forces you into a paid subscription after offering a free service

The website claims to allow you to create a free authorisation letter to travel with children to a foreign country. After completing a ton of forms with all details about the children, parents and trip, it forces you to sign up to the website including an ongoing monthly fee before allowing you to create the letter. This is under-handed and downright unethical.

I find this type of forced and deceitful driver on a website to be completely unacceptable and will never use this website again.

Less than helpful.

I sent one of the commercial lease aggreements to a bank for a commercial mortgage, but it was rejected due to the wording not being correct. They said that it was an American Lease agreement and they only work to English Law. This I thought was fair enough - Called to talk to the staff to ask what they could do as was just told they couldn’t help.

They claim to offer free will download …

They claim to offer free will download service, but after wasting 10 minutes of your time filling in questions, then they insist you sign up for a £20 per month service, with credit card details, in order to download the free will. You can cancel straight way in principle, but this is a classic attempt to trap people and rip them off because when they forget to cancel, or they cancellation mysteriously goes missing. I consider this approach as essentially a scam. They trick you into disclosing your CC details for a 'free' service. Any supposed legal company who adopt such dubious, disengenuous tactics should not be trusted. I would give them zero stars if possible. Don't go near these scammers!
