SCAM!!!! We tried this company for a legal document. We signed up for a 7 day trial. After deciding we did not need to continue with a subscription we canceled. They apparently canceled the 7.99 s... See more

Typical legal firm. Offers 'free' document writing service but after filling in the form for 15 minutes it only then becomes evident that you have to give your credit card details and then cancel the... See more

Avoid lawdepot.com. Their advertised "free" option for (e.g.) a house lease does not exist, and the subscriptions were overpriced for what little you might obtain. I believed their advert stating a... See more

Commmon story

Commmon story, they converted a free trial without informing me. They do not communicate this in any way. they do not post receipts for payment in their control panel. very underhanded way of doing business and customer services are totally unsympathetic.
AVOID - not a scam but as close as it gets

Utterly deplorable scam company

Utterly deplorable scam company
Sign up for a free document and they take a direct payment each month whether you cancel or not.
Unfortunately I wasn’t aware of the payment of £33 a month for the past 18 months
That’s nearly £600 down for a single pdf document.

30 minutes wasted

Had I read Trustpilot first I would not have wasted 30 minutes completing their form. It's not free at all. Like everyone here says it's a free 7-day trial but then it appears they take your money anyway. Thankfully I cancelled out before giving any details. Are they crooks? I don't know, but they are certainly not ethical lawyers and that's for sure.

Same as everyone else

Same as everyone else - in my case, they said there was an error with the transaction, please try again later. I've advised my card issuer and they will decline any attempt by the Law Depot to charge my "subscription"
Hopefully my details didn't go through and they won't therefore charge me - leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth though which is a shame, the service itself looked good.

Dishonest

Dishonest. Claims a free trial, but never actually accepts card details for this. If they had simply stated 35 quid one off I’d have paid it. But not now for their misleading marketing approach.

I simply visited their website and got robbed!

I simply visited their website. I did not enter into any agreement with them, order or receive any download, or give any financial details. Next thing I know, PayPal emails me to say they have taken £83.33 out of my account for an annually recurring transaction. On what planet does this happen?????

Great value if you know what you want…

Great value if you know what you want and are prepared to do a bit of research around the subject for yourself
eg I paid £35 for 5 years access to tenancy agreement templates.
I didn’t expect it to be “free” , and avoided the subscription chosing one off for the docs I wanted to access.

Lawyers who don't understand the meaning of the word 'Free"

I created a "FREE" loan agreement between my 2 companies using lawdepot's rather slick document creator. There were about 12 or 15 pages to click through inputting the information required. Once done I was asked to select a Free or Premium account. I selected Free. I was then taken to a page where I should input my bank card details. Because it's not free. Yes, you can have a 1 week free TRIAL, but they just don't mention that until right at the very end. And judging by the other reviews on here, so many cancelled but payment was taken anyway, I'm glad I stopped there.
Why on earth can companies, especially a law firm, not be transparent??? I assumed that offering free documents is a way of luring people in to other paid services. On the basis of Lawdepot's snidey marketing I wouldn't now touch them with a barge pole.
(I have, however, taken screenshots of the document I created and will type it up later.)

Signed up for free trial week - fraud

Signed up for free trial week, canceled the same day and still got charged. They don’t respond to emails and online chat said it was paypals fault!
Eventually got my money back by raising a case with PayPal

Dishonest - avoid

Offer a free product and after getting you to fill in all the information demand a fee to access it.

False marketing, dishonest. Google should be held to account for promoting these scammers and what on earth are trading standards doing

Fraud!

Signed up for free trial week, canceled the same day and still got charged. Now I contacted the support and claimed my money back, but reading the other reviews I am not really hopeful…
Stay away from this company!

Fraudulent Billing Activity

Much as EVERYBODY else has been indicating, this organisation is chaotic and will continue to take monies from your account (£33 - more than 4 times the monthly subscription rate) and will make recovery of monies very difficult. Just avoid.
