Poor Customer Service.

I was helping a client with the wording of a Loan Document. I checked on the internet for advice and found Lawdepot Ltd. I did read that there was a first free trial document offer, so I took advantage of it. However, it took until the early hours of the morning to try and complete the document, as it kept printing out in Chinese! At first, I thought it was a scam ! Eventually, I re-did the whole document again - successfully. RR.
Today, I saw that PayPal had paid £33.00 to them. I had read, I thought, that the first one was free, which was correct. However, I had overlooked the fact that I had to cancel the "Trial" after a week! I was so tired that the word Trial - at the time, in my mind, was referring to the actual "Trial" ahead! I take full responsibility for my neglecting to read the terms properly, but I, in no way, was expecting the hostile, ignorant manner in which I was shouted down and interrupted by the receptionist to whom I spoke.
I was shocked and appalled when she told me that it was obviously 'my' computer that was at fault and that I was "obviously out to blame other people for my errors"! I had made the courtesy call to them, as suggested by PayPal, merely to tell them that the first payment had been made and that I had now stopped all future payments of £33.00 per month.
I take the moral of the story to be - Do not work when you are tired! And always read the small print !
However, I will NEVER do business with this company again and I certainly will not recommend them to anyone, due to their lack of listening skills and their belligerence and lack of respect to their customers.

Happy to recommend this site

I used this site for a trial period to draw up a loan agreement. I found it an excellent service and would definitely use if I had more regular legal requirements. I will keep the details for future reference. I had no difficulty cancelling the the trial period and am happy to recommend based on my experience.

Scammers

Scammers! They charged me £329.89 charging me every month without informing me or proving any receipt after a free trial for a simple document!

Would not refund me even when it was clear I had NEVER used it other than to download the one free document.

I did cancel the subscription also, only found out when doing my accounts

Great experience.

It's just unbelievable reading the poor reviews for this company, they are not a charity, why should they offer their services for free?? It is stated quite clearly that there is no charge if you cancel within 7 days, and cancelling is made really easy!!! Come on people, start taking a bit of responsibility for your actions.

Found and created my template form…

Found and created my template form quite easily, I was also able to download it as a PDF which was a bonus. I did forget to cancel my free trial, (which was my fault) so did end up paying the £30 odd, but it's pretty straightforward to cancel the subscription in the account.

SCAM! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

SCAM! AVOID!
Like with many others, they will take your money and you won't be aware, sneak charges in. Buyer beware! One woman I spoke to on customer service was arrogant, rude and disconnected the call! This is not normal behaviour. Please stay far, far away from.

Payments after Cancellation

Make claims that forms are free , free membership etc, but then offer free trial , after which when I cancelled the membership they kept charging me for 12 months and won’t offer a refund. I have proof of the cancellation and proof of the continuing payments but they said I had reactivated , this never happened, the reactivation was within a week of me cancelling.

Wording in contract has been challenged by lawyer, Law Depot rude and refusing to engage

Purchased a contract from them via a subscription, which my client, a lawyer (specialist in counter party risk), said he would not sign as the indemnity clause was ambiguous. I sent Law Depot the comment requesting their legal team review the matter. I was fobbed off rudely and told I would have to hire my own lawyer if I wanted the contact ‘customised’. All I expected was a ‘legal’ contract! I forwarded the details of what their existing contract did not properly address and asked for them to be changed or for my money to be returned but they said they didn’t give refunds and I’ve just been ignored since.
Stay away from this company and their ‘legal’ documents, this company sells products that could leave you vulnerable and you will have no recourse.
What a scam!

WHAT FRAUD!!!

WHAT FRAUD!!!
I opted in for one week free trail and when on the same opened when tried to cancel, at the end of free cancellation page in t&c it was written I either continue for monthly membership which was to pay 6.99 a month or if going ahead with cancellation (within one week FREE trail), they will charge me £33. WHAT RUBBISH!!!! Absolutely SCAM, stay away from them. I will report them

The worst experience ever

Didn't realize that free trial was only for one week. The only email that I received from them was a notification of money going from my bank account. Called to cancel and had a very unpleasant conversation with extremely rude person. At the end of the call she just dropped the call. Discussing. Hope this company will not stay on the market for long.

Morally bankrupt

Like others I was stung by the fact that I didn't notice that I had not cancelled the "free" subscription. Sure, it is all clearly written up that this will happen. But I have had no communication from them at all since signing up and you are unlikely to spot £30 going out on your bank-statement. So it is easy to miss. This is of course what they are expecting. Stay away. Morally bankrupt.

The ad says it's free

The ad says it's free. But it's NOT. Only when you get to the very end of all the options and information it asks you to subscribe. How does a legal firm be so loose with the law??? Clearly scammers. Not to be trusted.

Simple, clear and good value - if you read the small print!

I used Law Depot to make a Will. I paid the £35 fee which was well-signposted and now have 10 year access to my legal document.

This website is an exercise in reading what you’re getting into. The subscription info is readily available as are the one-off charges.

They made what could have been a complicated and stressful creation of
my Will simple and friendly. I would highly recommend them, but people need to read all the information before deciding whether to sign up or make a one-off payment. All the info is there - it’s not the fault of the company if users fail to understand the process.

Subscription options are Clear.

The subscription options are very clear, it has helped me create a very clear contract for starting some independent work. It showed me the example of this before giving me the payment options, which allowed me to decide if I felt it was good enough quality to purchase a plan.

Incomplete Will document template

I have been trying to write a will but there is no question relating to the distribution of the financial assets then on the printed document a statement appears (section 9) with no personal information. The online chat and email help did not respond appropriately and no phone number provided.

Easily accessed but limited

An easily used service which provides a useful and practical link for those who wish to draw up ready documents. The site however will not let you edit documents unless you are using a desk top, which in this day and age is irritating. I no longer have that type of IT. The pricing isn’t well presented and for those wishing to keep a useful resource on tap, it isn’t that clear that the service is much cheaper when paid for annually. The layout for drawing up business documents is a little limited and with most menus and choice facilities doesn’t allow anything out of the usual. I have now cancelled my account because I hopefully will no longer need the service, but provided the user has some grasp of the law and what is required I found it a helpful tool.
