I have been tutored by Lawrence in A Level French. I have improved from a B/C grade to achieving an A in six months (sessions were one hour a week with no homework). I would highly recommend Lawrence.

When I first sought Lawrence's tuition, I was particularly weak and unconfident in spoken French and asked him to focus on this area. By the end of the course, Lawrence managed to turn my spoken French into my strongest aspect. He focused on my pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary to enable me to speak much more fluently, accurately and in greater detail. He explained various rules and concepts clearly and in different ways to how they were covered at school which was very helpful.

Lawrence also used stimuli which focused on social, political and cultural aspects of the course to spark genuinely interesting and enjoyable conversations in French. I also gained knowledge which I used in both my speaking and writing exams.

In short, Lawrence hugely improved my confidence, proficiency and interest in French. I would definitely recommend his tuition.

Lawrence has been very helpful supporting our 16 year old with GCSE maths. He was patient, clear and thoughtful with his sessions and helped to build understanding and confidence.

Having struggled to find a good local tutor that would fit in to our daughter’s long school week we decided to consider online tutoring. We had initial reservations whether skype based tutoring would offer the same level of tutor-pupil relationship but we quickly learnt that it was our perfect solution. Online tutoring offered us the flexibility to have tutor sessions at a convenient time and she could even remain in her pyjamas!
When we came to Lawrence Holly was predicted 8 or 9 grades in all subjects except English which was an outlier at a possible grade 6. Our objective for tutoring was to enable Holly to go into her GCSE’s confident of achieving a grade 7 or higher. Lawrence was highly professional in his tutoring and always looked to stretch her to give higher grade answers. He used set lessons to teach Holly a more methodical approach to English Language which was ideal for her learning style. He also did many sessions that addressed specific areas she needed help with, such as set texts and poem anthologies. All work was done within the sessions so Lawrence’s style of tutoring did not add any additional homework burden.
With Lawrence’s help Holly was well prepared for her GCSE’s and went onto achieve a 7 in English Language and an 8 in English Literature. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lawrence.

My son has always struggled with maths but after receiving tuition from Lawrence he passed his maths GCSE.

He had a good rapport with Lawrence and felt that he explained things in a way that made him understand things that he’d not really understood at school.

Lawrence honestly made education fun for me again. After a terrible secondary school experience left me with a U in Maths and a F in English, I was reluctant to try for them again. However, after a few lessons with Lawrence, I already had a better idea of these subjects than I ever had in my secondary school. I now have a grade 4 in Maths and a grade 7(!) in English Language. For anyone struggling in school or wanting to attempt GCSEs again, I would recommend Lawrence everytime as the online tutoring combined with Lawrence's skilled ability to explain subjects articulately and thoroughly make it a delightful process.
